Sleeping in = GOOD

I got to sleep in this morning. Isn't that the best?!
Not only to sleep in, but to lay in a warm bed for 15 mins, knowing you don't have any plans for the day. The Day is my Oyster. Is that even a saying. And if it is, it sure doesn't make any sense.
So my "Plan" was to work and hopefully finish my mini album for my nephew.
As I was about to go to my Scrap/craft room, hubby is like "So what are We doing today". I told him my plan.
He asked me if I could spare an hour of my time to spend with him. Now honestly how could I say no to that?
So we went out. He loves to go for drives. So we planned to go for a country drive and look at the huge houses.
Seriously now (a bit off topic) how do these people afford to pay for these homes? Not only do they have these huge houses, they have SUV's, quad riders, riding lawn mowers, new boats, large trailers, and get this strollers or play centers in their yards. So they have young kids to boot. So you know they are young. Had to start off your early years in so much debt.
Either they are very wealthy or in debt up to their eyeballs. Hubby and I have no debt (besides our cottage, it will be paid off this summer) but we worked our butts off to do this. No extra goodies. We have been married for over 22 yrs and now we are finally comfortable.

Ok back to my day. This blog is about me remember LOL.
Hubby and I went to Michael's as I needed more adhesive for my xyron. Then to DQ. I usually get a kiddie cone chocolate dipped, or a Banana Cream Pie Blizzard. Well Wayne talked me into a Banana split. I inhaled that thing. Seriously I deserve to be over weight. I remember when I couldn't finish one of these things and here I was finishing it 3 blocks away LOL.
Then hubby wanted to make this 4 cheese dip. It cost about 30.00 for the ingredients for this dip. We should have just gone to Montana's for their yummy dip. But he made it I didn't, so I can't complain.

I did end up getting into my scrap/craft room and get some creative time in. I don't have a TV or music in my room (even though I LOVE music and LOVE to watch movies). Well guess what I just realized.....I can watch DVD's on my laptop. I know, I know I should have known this, and I have watched my girls do this. But the lightbulb just didn't go off or on, LOL.
So I watched Unfaithful and Original Sin. Lots of sex in those movies. Wow.
I usually love to watch Tough Chick movies.
I didn't finish the mini album, but I did get all the paper on the bookboard and a few embellishments done. These mini albums sure take a while to complete, but they are sooo fun to make.

Hope you all had a creative weekend.

  1. Yum! That banana split looks yummy! I would gobble it down too! I think I'd like your dip recipe too!
Can't wait to see your finished album, and to get back to scrapping myself.
    Happy Monday.

  2. I would love to share the dip recipe, but the spices came in a premixed jar. Hubby altered the recipe (as he always does) and we found it to be to cheesey.

  4. Sleeping in is awesome! Fun drives with husbands are even awesomer! And Dairy Queen, well, we don't even need to say it out loud, but that is the awesomEST! Oh, and to answer your question about those people in those houses - they work too much and they are in debt up to their eyeballs. Not interested. Thanks. HA!

  5. I love sleeping in - doesn't happen very often. Niko (6 yr old GS) suggested a I should be a bat this morning when I said I didn't want to get up - I said I'd rather be a ball - he said NO, a live bat - that sleeps all day! DUGH!

Glad you had a productive weekend. I did get a little scrapping done - if I could just stay off the computer!

  6. Me and my Hubby love to jump in the car with no plans and just drive anywhere, end up somewhere nice and have fish 'n' chips on the way home. Oh and we do take our three kids with us too!
Sounds like you had a nice day, a my kind of day.
    Happy crafting
