Give Away winners :)

Did my give away today :) Congrats to the winners :)

Because I don't know to much about the computer. I didn't do Random.org. I printed up the comments and separated them. Thank you Heather for helping me. We may have to re open the paper mills here because of all the paper I used, teehee.

I even bleed for you guys. Yup paper cut. Man those things hurt. Ok so a lot of you have asked me how I make the turtles. Well first you need some molds. I have the molds that are shaped as mini turtles. You could probably use and shape of chocolate mold though. We buy Merkins light chocolate wafers. They are pricey, but the best tasting and melts nicely.

I use a double boiler to melt the chocolate. Once the chocolate starts to melt, put it on the minimum. If your chocolate overheats it turns clumpy, not good. I have melted this chocolate in the microwave in small doses.

The caramel (as you know from yesterday) is cooked in the unopened can for 3 hours in a pot of boiling water. Again DO NOT let the pot boil dry. I may have to try Shell's idea of the crock pot. And I have never done the caramel squares in the microwave as MrsMorris had asked. But I think it is a softer caramel in the cans then the squares.

Cover the bottom of your molds with the melted chocolate, then turn upside down on waxed paper to let the excess chocolate drain. This will be reused to fill more molds, just stick the wax paper in the freezer to solidify first before placing it back in the pot of chocolate.

When the molds harden (we put them in the freezer for a tad) put in some caramel, a pecan and spoon on some more chocolate. Then put back in the freezer until they are easy to dump out of the mold. Then repeat, repeat, repeat.

Onto my day:

I found out my baby Kristy, skipped second period yesterday. She went to the library, boy she is a rebel, lol. She said she didn't tell me because I would yell at her. I asked, when have I ever yelled at you. She just shrugged.

Then Heather talked to her. I heard the convo from the living room. So Kristy told her the whole story. Heather said to her. Mom has never yelled, she would just sit down with you and talk to you about it. LOL

Crazy kid. Oh ya I made her hand wash the dishes for her punishment. Actually I didn't want to do them so that's my reason. LOL

So I didn't get any creative time in today. I brought some stuff upstairs to work on some Christmas cards while watching TV. But Heather decided to watch it with us and she likes to view movies in the dark. But that's okay, because now I can stalk...I mean check out some blogs without feeling guilty about not getting my cards done ;)

Hope you all had a creative Wednesday

Tracy

  4. Fact: I have not had to shed blood for my blog. You win the Medal of Honor for the day, lady.

I love that your daughter skipped class to go to the library. If that's not living on the edge, I do not know what is. God, to be a teenager again.

  5. Thank you SO much for posting turtle instructions. I bought a mold last night. Turtles are hubby's favorite candy, and they don't cause gas! Of course, I have a couple questions. How many cans of milk did it take to make 300 turtles? And if you have a large pot, can you do more than one can at a time? How long does the caramel stay gooey in the can?

Speaking of stalking, are you really gonna be in Montana in March? Great Falls is gorgeous. Big Sky Country, for sure! And Calgary and Banff, Lake Louise - such precious memories I have of those places. I have thought about moving to Canada, but I don't think I could pay the extra $.50 for the bin items at Michaels.

Thank you for posting such a sweet comment about my mini album. You and my mother are the only ones who read my blog :). Perhaps I am boring !?!
