I'm Shocked!!

The other day when I was on my laptop, I got shocked/zapped when my hand touched the side that the plugs go into.
Then last night I had it on my lap and I got shocked by the bottom of the laptop.
Today when I put in the ear plugs, my ear got a major shock/zap from the ear piece.
Has this ever happened to you before?
I have not backed up anything on my laptop (this is the only computer that I use). All my photo's, video's and such are on here.
I think tomorrow I will buy an external hard drive and the hubby to transfer my stuff onto it.

This is what our Family Day consisted of......
Video games and watching movies.
I didn't do anything to productive today. It was a very, very lazy day.
I did clean the dining room table off of all my scrap booking supplies.
I did a load of laundry.
Yup that's about it, lol.

Oh I did make a list of all the Thank You cards I need to send out. Oh my there are over 22 AND some of them are close to a year late.
I am the worst procrastinator in the world. If there was an award for this type of behaviour I would be the winner.

Here is for tomorrow being a more productive day.
I sooo need to start making my list tonight.
Hoping I get some of the things crossed off my list tomorrow.

Did you get to create today?

Tracy

  1. I sure did! I got my mini started for Mother in law and quite a bit done with it too. The boys were good at entertaining each other, for today anyway. Can't say that they'll be the same tomorrow :0) And hey, a load of laundry and some cleaning is accomplishing something, right? Good luck with the list, I have one myself :0) Can't say that I have ever been shocked by my laptop though, be careful!

  2. Tracy,
It must be a bad computer week. We have 3 computers here, 1 desktop (which is ancient) and 2 laptops. The laptop I use everyday, that has everything on it stopped working. All of a sudden the monitor was black. I couldn't get it to come on. I took it apart, tried cleaning, but nothing worked. It is now in my trash. I am now on hubby's laptop.
I never got shocked though. I would definatly get the hard drive to back everything up
    Hugs

  3. Yeah, be careful with that. I completely fried a motherboard AND USB external hub by zapping it with static electricity when I went to turn the dang thing on.

  4. Ouch! Be careful girlfriend. There are easier ways to curl your hair, ya know?

  5. Oh,no! I love winter but I hate all the static electricity it brings. I've got shocked touching my laptop as well, so you're not alone.

  8. Please get an external hard drive and get everything backed up--you don't want to lose all your precious photos.
I run a humidifier in the house in the winter to provide a little extra humidity since it is so dry out here.
No creating for me yesterday--I worked a 12 hour shift. Canceled this morning. Still slow at work with only 5 babies and too many nurses scheduled. Extra creating time for me, I hope.

  12. Sounds like a great day! I am constantly getting shocked but knock on wood have not been shocked by my computer. Backing up the data sounds like a good idea.

  13. I get shocked all the time in the winter months. Especially when I'm wearing sweaters. The static electricity builds up and it shocks you when you touch something electronic. Another reason to want winter OVER! LOL. I did get to create a little on Monday and have plans to create all day today. Yeah! :)

  14. We had a lazy day here too. DH went back to work today, but the rest of us have an extra day off! Our kids (big and little) also played games all day (it was raining here). I have a terabyte external hard drive. Sounds like you need one!

  15. I'm having a small issue with my laptop, also. I think the power cord is about to die, so I need to get a new one.

Great idea - putting the instructions on the inside of the tape gun. I got tired of looking on the internet for the instructions every time I needed to install the tape for my ATG, so I stopped using it. Maybe I'll give it another try!

  16. Sounds like your Family Day was just about perfect! I have a speaking engagement this weekend so I was doing some final editing, no crafty creative time for me! I just bought an external hard drive last week, it's a great idea if you have all your photos on your computer, shock or no shock! Cheers!
