Pumpkin Fun

Ashley wanted to carve pumpkins with her boyfriend Tyler.
So she wanted me to come with her to pick them out.
First we ran to Safeway, but she didn't like the ones they had. They were under $3.00 each....I am sure she could have found a nice side.
So I told her we could go to the Warehouse, they had 3 huge boxes full, and they were $2.50 each.
She wanted to go to the Farmers market. Even though I told her they would be pricey there.
Well she found 2 that she loved.
When asked the price, the old guy said $10.00 each.......$10.00!!!!!!!!!!
She took them!?!?!
She said after the guy helped her take them out of the large box she felt should.
This is where she Doesn't take after me, lol.

Here is Tyler's creation. Pretty cool eh?

This one is Ashley's. She took the Martha Stewart approach ;)  See the black spider... that was my touch ;)

One thing I have to say about these pumpkins, they did produce a lot of pumpkin seeds......not sure if it is $20.00 worth though, lol.

Here are the artists at work.

Onto My Day:
My plan was to work ALL day on my mini book. I should have known better.
Went to the garage stamp sale. I picked up 5 large stamps (pictures to follow tomorrow) and a plastic divided folder to hold my different types of paper for my Copics.
Then came home and waited for the shower. After 2 out of my 3 daughters took a shower I got mine.
Picked up pumpkins with Ashley.
When Heather came home from work, Sharon came and visited with me for while.
Kristy and Blake planned a whole day/evening to pig out on munchies and watch scary movies all day.
Then they wanted to pick up some more from the video store. So off we went....I did get them to decorate the front yard with Halloween fun.
Wayne came home from hunting and wanted me to go with him to pick up a few things that he needed.

By this time I was ticked. All I wanted to do was stay in my room all day and complete the mini.
Well that didn't happen. But guess where I am going right now ;)

Hope you all had a creative day :)

Tracy:)

  8. Wow, those pumpkins look great! I love Ashley's :) We're going to carve ours tonight, not sure what we'll end up with though. I know the feeling when all you want to do is get down to your room and you keep getting sidetracked. Hope you got down there last night :)

  9. They turned out really fantastically.

I totally understand planning to sit down and work on something and then running around and never getting a moment. That was my Thursday.

  10. I love the pumpkins! Although I'm with you, I would have bought the $3 ones...then I would have been upset when I found some at $2.50 later!

I was planning on spending all day scrapping, while AJ watched football all day. But now we were invited out with a group of our friends to watch at a local bar. So there goes my scrap time. I hate that feeling! I hope you got to work on your mini album last night!

  13. The pumpkins look fantastic. My husband carved a little one with your typical triangles but because it was so small it was very cute. A couple days later my son looked at it and said "eewwe it's rotten" and proceeded to dump it in the garbage. Go figure. I don't even have the heart to tell him we may not be trick or treating tomorrow with his cousins. They don't have any power yet. I am pretty much done with my family for a couple of days. I'm really losing it and just yelling to scare anyone from even looking in my direction at this point. I cannot wait to drop them off at school tomorrow.

  14. The local grocery stores were sold out of pumpkins today. So we went to a small nursery. Their pumpkins were $15.00 EACH. So, we drove out to our old grocery store where we used to live (about 25 minutes away): $4.00 each. We got three for less than the price of one at the other place.

The pumpkin face looks like Venom (Spiderman villain). Cool!
