Closed for the Season

Well today was our last day at the cottage for the season :(
We turned off the water and winterized the cottage.
Hard to believe that summer is over.
Especially when we had weather like we did. It was beautiful today.
But hunting season starts next Saturday, and hubby goes hunting with his dad every weekend from now until its over.

The birds were quite happy with us.
When we cleaned out the fridge/freezer, we threw the bread and buns out to them.
This is a whiskey jack, can't tell from my terrible photo though.
We also had blue jays come and nab the bread.

But the chickadees and nuthatches loved the seeds.
I'll tell you these birds don't sit long enough to get their photos taken.

Last night we had a beautiful full moon.
There were rings around it, but then again my camera didn't pick them up.
The moon lit up the sky.

Onto My Day:
Most of the day consisted of cleaning the cottage and packing and putting away the boat, kayaks and outdoor items.
Wayne hooked up his snowplow to the truck as we aren't sure when we will be coming back up.
On the way home the truck overheated. We had to pull over on the side of the highway. Thought we might have to go back to camp and drop it off until the weather got cooler to drive with the plow on.
But Wayne just turned off the A/C and it was fine. But then again, who drives with a snowplow on their vehicle in September, lol.

Wayne was going to take me out for supper tonight, but he got a major nose bleed, and it took a while to stop. So hopefully we will go tomorrow.
He has been fine for the rest of the evening.

The girls were all excited for me to play a video game called Slender. I knew it was going to be scary, if they were that eager to watch me play it.
I had to collect notes and not stop as someone is following you. Well they never told me he was following me, just not to stop.
Well when I turned around and saw this white faces figure, I screamed... just like a silly girl in the horror movies....yup they laughed and fully enjoyed it.

I hope you all had a creative Saturday :)

Tracy :)

  1. That sounds like a fun game! I am not a big fan of being scared though. But I bet your girls thought it was hilarious. Hope your hubby's better. Mine gets nosebleeds easily and it's not fun.

  6. Such beautiful photos. I know you are sad to say goodbye to your summer retreat. You're wise to get it all done before snow comes. Pretty birds!

  10. That is funny about the snow plow! But you never know what the weather is going to do!

My students play that game too. They told me all about it and I got completely freaked out. I don't like scary games like that!

I hope you guys were able to go out to dinner and that Wayne didn't get another nose bleed. I'm glad he is feeling better!
