Its not all about the money

Remember this book I made last year for a swap?
Well, I was on Pinterest today and came across someone selling one very similar to mine for $199.00   Can you believe it!!!!!
I have been asked if I could make a few as some people wanted to buy the finished album, but I declined, as I want to keep my craft a passion not a business...well so far anyway, teehee.
For years (like 25) I had wanted to go into a craft show. I had even made crafts for it. But I never did put myself out there.
My daughters think I am silly for not selling my works. But sometimes its not all about the money :)

Is anyone heading to Mall of America this weekend for their big Scrapfest?
I am heading to Mall of America this weekend, but didn't know Scrapfest was being held on This weekend.
We are going on our yearly Fall family mini vacation.
I am thinking it is going to be crazy and that Archivers is going to be out of a lot of products.
Not that I need anything after my last trip there ;)
But I am sure that's not going to keep me from finding some goodies to buy ;)

I hope you all had a creative Thursday :)

Tracy :)

  7. I turned my craft (sewing) into a business (making window treatments) 15 years ago. It has its perks, yet it changed the way I view what I do. It's work now which is why I have a papercrafting hobby. I do sew occasionally for fun. do what makes you happy!

  17. Ah! I wish I was going to Mall of America this weekend. Unfortunately, I am not :(

You should sell your crafts, but only if you want to! They are definitely amazing enough, and I'm sure people would love to buy them, but if you don't want to sell them, then you shouldn't do something you don't want to do!

I always want to join a design team, but I get too shy to try out. I'm afraid they are going to laugh at me! So if that's what's holding you back, you're being crazy, because your crafts rock! But if you just don't want to, that's a different story!

  20. Oh my I am so so so far behind on your posts again. I haven't been on my computer enough these last few days. With getting used to the school routines, dance classes and trying to close on our house I'm all over the place. Today I was just so tired, probably from a rough week I had. I am more than happy it is over. I wish I was going to the mall of america. I would love some new scrap goodies. I haven't gotten anything new in a while. Okay not true, I just bought a ton of Kraftin Kimmie stamps. I guess it just wasn't enough he he he. I would say sell just a little bit so you have more money to buy lots more crafty stuffs :)

  22. If I were as talented as you are Tracy I would make extra mini's, cards and such and sell them as long as it stayed enjoyable to you. You do amazing work so why not profit from it, but only on your own terms. hugs, Sybil

  23. I agree about not making to sell. I used to do that with fabric crafts and I got to the point where I hated sewing. Now I sew only for myself and for gifts and I love it again.
