April's 2013 Tag

Now is this cutting it close or what, lol.
I have finally got around to making Tim Holtz monthly tag.
Isn't it so Springy :)
So not like Tim's tag.

Tim Holtz was focusing on his metallic distress paints.
Not only don't I have his distress paints, I don't have any of his paints.
So I played around with my acrylic paints and my metallic acrylic paints.
And look what I got....a big stinkin' mess, lol.
I have also realized something about me... I don't like to get my hands dirty, lol.
I think I washed my fingers so many times because I had so much ink on them.

So lets take a closer look at the tag.
I wanted to make something spring-like for April as our snow has almost all melted (thank you rain :)
I stamped the butterfly on the paper then used Staz-on and stamped it on some acetate. I then zapped it with the heat gun for a tad and let the wings curl, then formed them as I wanted.
I love this zipper pull for his or her body.

I love gears and all types of metal embellishments, but because I wanted this to be soft and Springy, I added the flower behind the bottle cap and charm.
See that little bit of washi tape under the pen nib?

I took a picture frame charm I had picked up at the dollar store a few years ago and adhered a tiny butterfly charm on the edge of it.
I did use my metallic gold paint and went around the edge of the tag with it.

So again here is my completed tag for April.
Not at all like his, but I have to thank Tim for all his inspiration :)
Tomorrow Tim shares his tag for May....lets hope I don't wait till the last minute to make this one ;)

Onto My Day:
I finally got around to doing the drawing and making the video for my YouTube 200th/Spring Clean up giveaway :)
I made April's tag.
Krsity and Blake came home early from school today, that was a surprise.
Heather made supper tonight :)
I am invited to the movies with my friend Lynne and Denise. I have no idea which movie....but no matter which one we go to, it will still be a good time :)

I hope you all have had a creative Tuesday :)

Tracy :)

  9. Love this tag and using that zipper pull!!! Fabulous. Now as far as getting messy - me neither. I got ink all over me a few weeks ago and I was stopping and starting to wipe it off my fingers. In the end I gave in LOL!
