Happy Easter

Today I just felt like colouring up this cute CC Design image.
I don't think I have inked her up before.
I tried to match my Copic markers to the papers.
I usually just colour an image and then find my papers. I have a lot of pattern paper so it usually isn't a problem finding matching papers.

Here is a close up of the image I coloured.
She is so  cute. I think her stockings look like a decorated egg :)
The paper around the image is just white cardstock that I coloured dark brown with my marker.
I was to lazy to walk downstairs for the 100th time to get some brown paper, lol.

And now for the money shot ;)
I wanted to add tiny eggs instead of the brown brads. But that was hard to do as I didn't have any ;)

Here is the inside of the card.
Again I used left over paper from the front of the card for the inside. Its the best way to use up scraps of paper.

Again here is the finished card.
As much as I like this card, I am drawn more to the brighter colours.
These papers look a bit washed out to me....

Here is the sketch I followed.
I have a Sketch board on my Pinterest page. Once I have done the sketch on my board I am also pinning the finished card.

Onto My Day:
Woke up to snow.
Yup, it was snowing pretty hard. Big fluffy white flakes of snow.
My girls only searched for eggs outside once in their lives, and that was over 12 yrs ago.

Same day as yesterday. Wayne playing video games and me telling him what to do and where to go, lol. As I coloured and made some cards.

On a sad note, tonight is the last episode of the Walking Dead for season 3 :(

I hope you all had a great Easter weekend with family and friends.
Also a creative Sunday :)

Video games and cards

This is what I watched a good part of the day.
I told Wayne to get his game out. He hasn't played in so long and I really do enjoy watching and telling him what to do as he plays ;)
As he did this I made a few cards.
The cards are a little different then I usually make, but I wanted to follow a sketch.
I will share those with you tomorrow.

But what I will do is share with you a short video on a few cards I had made.
If you are a follower of my blog, then you may have seen them.

Onto My Day:
Wayne and I had an appointment this morning, then the whole day was free :)
Well except picking Kristy up from work.
But then I put on my jammy pants and watched Wayne play videos and made a few cards.
A perfect day in my opinion :)

I hope you have all been enjoying your long weekend and had a creative Saturday :)

March 2013 Tag

I have finally completed the March Tag for the challenge Tim Holtz has going on.
I am not exactly sure if it is a challenge...but I have challenged myself to do it each month.
So far so good, I may get them done a couple days before month end...but I'm getting them done ;)

If you look at the one Tim has done, then you can see that mine is quite a bit different.
I didn't have anything he had...well except for those ticket stick things that are holding up the flowers.

So lets take a closer look at what I had done.
I didn't have his grass die so I hand cut my own.
I didn't have his metal floral embellishment so I made my own. Actually these came from a very ugly set of earings. They had many of these flower heads on them...and this is why I bought them ;)
Lastly I wanted to hid eggs in the grass. So I covered some paper with some foil from chocolate kisses and then ran them through my embossing folder.

I didn't have the die's that Tim used, so I hand cut the egg out of the center of the cardstock.
You can check out my failed attempts of this HERE.
What I did for the center of the egg, was ink some white cardstock with pink distress ink then adhered the washi/tissue tape on top of it. then popped the egg shape over top of it.
I also didn't have the banner die that Tim used so I just cut a long skinny strip of paper and folded it to look like a banner.
I had made some flowers with the left over foil I had used for the mini eggs.

I just thought I would show you how I work. Scary isn't it, lol.
I really don't like to work in chaos, but no matter how much I try to keep neat and organized, I still make a giant mess.
It is all clean now though.....honestly ;)

One more look at the tag....I don't want you to leave here with the last image you see is of my mess, teehee.
 Onto My Day:
I wanted to cook a turkey today.
Not so much because of the holidays, but because then we have leftovers, and everyone can fend for themselves the rest of the weekend.....yup, I'm not dumb ;)
Well I thought I had bought the turkey that was already stuffed and you cook it from the frozen state.
I was annoyed to see that I didn't.
I was thinking, oh crap now I have to cook something else.
Internet to the rescue...I looked up and you CAN cook a frozen turkey without thawing that sucker out.
I was so happy :)  No cooking for me this weekend ;)
So we had Tyler and Blake over and we all enjoyed a nice yummy turkey dinner :)

I chatted with my ladies today, and they still wanted to come over for Friday Night scrapbooking.
I thought with it being a holiday weekend, they would want to stay home...but I guess I am just to much fun to be around as they should be here any minute now.

I hope you all enjoy your holiday weekend and I hope you all had a creative Friday :)

Tag....fail

I want to thank you all for your sweet and touching comments yesterday.
It will take awhile for my family to get used of Rose not being here with us.
I think we have all went to check on her today, then realized that she isn't here.
Again thank you so very much for your heartfelt comments.

I wanted to keep my mind active and focus on something other then our saddness.
So I thought I should work on my Tim Holtz tag for March...it is almost the end of the month ;)
I don't have the die he used, so I hand cut this egg shape.
I wanted it to look like an egg, but nothing seemed to work for me today.
I thought I would use a chocolate wrapper, run it through my embossing folder to look like a wrapped egg...nope, fail.

Next...
I thought I would put some washi tape behind the shape. I thought the black washi might look like those beautiful hand dyed Ukrainian eggs...nope fail.
It may have looked better if I had done the whole shape in the black washi.
I think I may have found a solution, but will share it when I am totally completed the tag.

This is Kristy with her good friend Allison.
Allison made the family a scrapbook of Rose last night and gave it to Kristy this morning at school. Allison is such a sweet girl.
She wanted to decorate a cake for Kristy today, as 3 of Kristy's friends were taking her out for dinner in celebration of her birthday last week.
After dinner they came here and had dessert and sat around chatting.
Good job on the cake Allison :)

Onto My Day:
After driving Kristy to school and Heather to work, I picked up the cake pan, came back home and went for a nap.
Later Heather and I made the cake for Allison to decorate, and cleaned out the fridge.
I told Heather we are going to be doing tasks for the next few weeks to occupy our minds.
I went on the computer for a bit before supper and fell asleep again.
I tell you its the best thing for ya, when you are emotionally drained.

I hope you all had a creative Thursday :)

Good Bye Rose

Today was a very sad and emotional day.
Our much loved Rose is no longer with us.
After 16 yrs, today was the day she had to leave us.

If you remember, last month I had to bring her to the vet as she was very sick.
The vet thought she had diabetes...which she did not have.

Then last week I had her at the vet as her lung had to be drained.
She hasn't eaten since then. We have had to force feed her by watering down her food and feeding her with a syringe.
She had lost so much weight in such a short time.
She sat with the family most of the week. Plus she would do things that gave us hope that she would get better. Sadly she didn't.
So with a heavy heart and lots of tears, Rose is at peace now.

I put together a video with photos of our beautiful Rose.
It was hard for me to watch in between the tears, but I wanted to make this for my girls.
I hope we gave you a happy 16 years Rose.
I hope you all had a creative Wednesday :)

Now go and give your much loved pets a hug.

Oz the great and Powerful

Tonight some of my friends and I took our friend Lynne out for dinner and a movie for her Birthday.
The restaurant she chose was Applebees.
The movie she chose was Oz, the Great and Powerful.
It was a pretty good movie.
We didn't see it in 3D, but I could tell which parts would have jumped out.
Actually my friends all jumped even though it wasn't in 3D.
Bunch of light weights, lol.

I did a quick video on a few cards I had made recently.
That is all from me today.

I hope you all had a creative Tuesday :)

Challenge time

As you know I am on a Design Team for Little Blue Button Stamps.
You have more then likely seen this card that I had made with Olga's image.
But what you may have not known, is I had also made this card for their 2 week challenge.
What you may have also not known is that you can join in on this challenge as well ;)

The theme for this challenge is Easter.
All the information is on their blog and you can check it out here LBBS.
You can win some of Olga's wonderful images.
Plus go to the LBBS blog to see what the other ladies on the DT have come up with for their challenge cards :)

Onto My Day:
Wayne came home with two huge boxes of deer sausages and peperettes from this years hunt.
As for me, I don't like wild game, but Wayne and the girls love it. It will not last long in this house.
I had to do a few errands today.
This silly cold is still hanging on as I was wiped out and needed a nap today.
I have so many creative plans I swirling in my head at night, and vow to get on them when I wake up...but when the day goes on, I seem to get nothing done..well except a nap, lol.

I hope you have all had a creative Monday :)

Happy 18th Birthday Kristy :)

Today is my beautiful daughter Kristy's 18th Birthday.
I know I say this every time one of my daughter's have a birthday, but where the heck has the time gone.
I remember this little girl wanting me to lay with her until she fell asleep. Always telling me that when she is older she will sleep by herself.
I remember this little girl crying when I brought her to school, only for me to bring her back home with me, or me staying to help out yet another day.
I remember this little girl getting upset that "Daddy is calling me names" when Wayne would call her "My little blue eyes."

Now she is so grown up and even though I miss those days, I love ever second I spend with her.
She is such a funny, smart and such a loving young lady.....not to forget beautiful on the inside and out.
Happy Birthday Kristy, we all love you.

I told Kristy I wanted to post the photo with the candles. She won't let us put candles on her works of art cakes, so these were her candles for this year. But she wanted me to post the photo with her and her cake :)

I hope you all had a creative Sunday :)

Whinnie the Pooh cake :)

Here is Kristy's cake that she decorated today.
Kristy loves to decorate these pan cakes so much, that she wanted to do her own.
She has the patients for this.

Onto My Day:

I slept in...which is always nice in my opinion ;)
We all went out to celebrate Kristy's birthday.
We have a tradition that when it is your birthday, we go out for a family dinner and whoever is celebrating their birthday, gets to choose the restaurant.
Well Kristy picked Montana's, she loves her steak.
Tomorrow is her actual birthday, but she has to work 7:00am-3:00, so we figured tonight was a better night to go out and have family over.
She is not impressed to have to work on her birthday. But she hasn't been called into work for 2 weekends in a row.
We had family over tonight. Enjoyed some cake and ice-cream and had a lot of laughs :)

Hope you all had a creative Saturday :)

Make a Wish

Tonight was Friday Night Scrapbooking :)
I actually made a card.
We did spend most of the evening chatting, but we all made at least one card :)
It is Lynne's Birthday on the 28th of this month, so I put this one together for her birthday.

Here is a close up of the image. Isn't this a cute image :)
I coloured it up with my Copics.
This was a very simple image to colour. I think I had only used 14 colours on here ;)

And here is the money shot ;)

Lastly the inside of the card.
I used that brown paper from that small note pad.
I used one of my new the sentiment stamps. This is a perfect saying for my friend Lynne, we both live by this rule :)

Onto My Day:

I had to run out and get some groceries, even though I didn't want to leave the house.
Picked up Kristy on her spare from school, as she wanted to pick up a cake pan.
It is Kristy's birthday on Sunday and she wants to decorate a cake. I told her your not suppose to decorate your own cake. But she said she wants to. So that is what she will be doing tomorrow.

I hope you all had a creative Friday :)
I am so happy for the weekend :)

Kristy's Semi Formal

Onto happier things today.
It is Kristy's Semi Formal :)
I am not sure who was more excited about it, Kristy or Ashley, teehee.
Ashley was so excited to shop for Kristy's dress when we were on our trip.
I think Kristy tried on way over a dozen dresses.
And this is the one she chose :)
Isn't my baby beautiful :)

Ashley rushed home from work to do a photo shoot.
These are my photos and you know I am not a photographer and I don't edit my photos. So I can't wait until Ashley uploads her photos :)
Here is Kristy with her boyfriend Blake of 3 yrs.

Kristy's friends and their dates were included in this photo shoot of course.
Here is Kristy's friends and their dates.
They clean up well ;)

These girls have been friends for a long time and are so close.
Allison, Brianna and my Kristy :)
All such sweet girls.

Thank you so much for all your well wishes and prayers for our Rose.
She has been wandering around the house today, but still hasn't been eating and her breath is a bit laboured.  But she isn't in any pain, so that at least that is good.

I hope you all have had a creative Thursday :)

It was a High/Low day

Today started out as a fabulous day :)
I went to my cardiologist for my check up and to get the results of my MUGA scan.
I was ecstatic to find out that my heart is the strongest it has been since I was first diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy in 2002.
My iron is low...like not even on the chart low, but that is nothing new, lol.
I got the doctor to check out to see if my cold is an infection or just a cold.
It turns out it is just a bad, long cold. No infection....which I am happy about :)

Then it turned bad, real bad.
You all know our wonderfully, well loved cat Rose.
We noticed yesterday that it seemed she was having a hard time breathing...like having to take short deep breaths.
So off to the vet Rose, Heather and I went.

The vet took an x-ray.
See the dark long shadow, that is her lung.
Now look on the left hand side, see that tiny dark shadow...that is her other lung.
No wonder she was having trouble breathing.
He drained her lung and got a large bowl of liquid out of her.
When he showed us her new x-ray both lungs looked the same.
But sadly the vet doesn't think she is going to get better. He said this is just to make her more comfortable :(
I wear my emotions on my sleeve, so I shed some tears while we were in the room.
My Heather is emotionally strong.
As the mother I am suppose to stay strong for my kids, but Heather was the one who stayed strong for me.
Rose is home and wandering around and seems good.

So nothing creative from me today.

Hope you all had a creative Wednesday :)

Butterfly, blossoms and a shredded mess

I have another card to share today.
I have just been pumping these out, lol.
Actually this one was made last Friday night, during Friday Night Scrapbooking.
I used the same image as I did on yesterdays card.
I love that I can get so much use out of one stamp :)
After stamping the blossom branch I just coloured the flowers.

This butterfly stamp was one that my friend Myra had just purchased.
When I saw this stamp I knew what I wanted to do with it :)
First I stamped it on this dark purple paper.
Then I stamped it again on some pattern papers, and fussy cut just the butterfly out.
Adhered the body of the butterfly on the stamped image and bent up the wings.

Here is the inside of the card.
I had stamped this butterfly for the front of the card but felt like I didn't get a good solid image.
So I decided to use it inside the card...see nothing to waste for me ;)
I had bought this note pad with brown lined paper.
When I saw it I thought it would be perfect for the insides of my cards :)
As much as I love my recipe/index cards, I also like other options ;)

Onto My Day:
Another low key day.
Had the house to myself for a bit today as everyone worked.
Ashley didn't come home for lunch again today :(
I was going through our income taxes to send them out. And like always I got side tracked.

I found some old business paper work that needed to be shredded. So I figured now is as good a time as any.
Well I totally jammed the shredded. I mean so jammed that nothing I did would unjam it. The paper looked compressed into fibers so jammed.
So I tried different methods to unjam it. First reversing it. Then I tried a pulled apart paperclip. I pick for separating nuts (I have no idea where that came from). Finally I used a thin pearing knife.
Now before you all tell me how dangerous this is...I know you have all done the same, lol.
As I was doing this I called my friend but she wasn't in the office so I left a message.
As I was leaving the message, the shredder decided to eat the knife, lol
Like seriously, I forgot to turn off the shredder, lol.
I tried to pull the knife out..but no way was that shredder letting go.
I had to reverse it and it spit the knife out.
All the time fidgeting with the shredder and knife I was laughing while leaving a message on my friends voice mail.
Yup, my life in a nutshell. lol
Ohhhh maybe thats why I had the nut picker thingy, lol.

I hope you all had a creative Tuesday :)
Oh ya and I was able to get the cottage for my friends and my girls getaway for this summer, looking forward to August. Well actually looking forward to spring, as we got snow again today.

Bloom card with Distress

I wanted to break out my Tim Holtz distress markers.
I haven't really had a chance to really play with them.
So for this card I wanted to use them :)
First thing I did was to actually ink up this stamp with the markers.
I just coloured the stamp pinks for the flowers and green for the stems/branch.
Then huffed on the stamp to reactivate the the ink, then stamped.

This stamp is an outline stamp so the flowers and stem/branch needed to be coloured in.
So I took 2 colours of pink, light for the flowers and a darker pink for the shading, then just coloured them in :)
Did the same for the branches, except with greens of course.
Then I formed some flowers I punched out and added some sparkle to them :)

Here is the inside of the card.
Does this look familiar?
It is the journal stamp I was playing with last week :)

Last night I was having a little sweet craving.
So I made Impossible Pie.
Not only is this so good, it is also so easy to make ;)
Here is the recipe Impossible Pie.

Onto My Day:
Another at home day for me.
It was my week to car pool the kids to school, but my friend Lynne said she would do it this week.
At first I thought how sweet, she knows I'm not feeling well.
Nope. She doesn't want her kids to get my cold, lol. Nothing like a truthful friend, lol.

My friend Debbie phoned to chat and was looking up the cottages for our girls getaway for this summer.
Can you believe the ones we usually like are all booked up!!!
We seriously have to quit telling everyone about this place, lol.
There is one cottage left with a hot tub that has an opening for the week we want.
So hopefully it is still available when I phone tomorrow.

So Wayne and I are watching the Finale of the Biggest Loser.
Is it awful that I am eating a Chocolate Cluster as we are watching it.
I don't think I'm grasping the whole concept of the show, lol.

I hope you all had a creative Monday :)

Miss Lilly Easter Bunny DT card

Today is my Design Team day for sharing my project on the Little Blue Button Stamps Design Team :)
I used Miss Lilly Easter Bunny...isn't she the cutest :)
The paper pack I chose was My Minds Eye "Memorable" collection.
There may be some other papers in here as well, as I don't seem to stick to one paper pack when making cards.

Lets take a closer look at this cutie shall we ;)
She is just toooo adorable.
I coloured Miss Lilly up with my Copics.
Tip: I really need to keep track of the colours I use.
After I was done with colouring this image, I noticed I could have done a bit better job of blending on her hat....but I had put away my pile of markers and couldn't remember which ones I used, lol.

As you know, I like to pretty up the inside of my cards as well. I use left over papers from the front of my card, best way to use up your scraps ;)
I have been using recipe/index cards for the inside of my cards for years...I need my straight lines to write on, or it would be a big slanted mess, teehee.

Now who doesn't enjoy looking for Easter eggs on Easter morning, I know we still do.
Did you notice I hid some in my card?
No?
Well let me help you out with that ;)
(see the little sliver of black paper on the  edge...just noticed it was there after I downloaded the photo...no worries, its gone now, teehee)

Lets take one more look at the card :)
I am really happy with how it turned out :)
I also made this card for LBBS challenge.
Every month they have a challenge, this month it is Easter...well I didn't realize they changed the challenge for later in the month...oh well, I'm a newbie, what can I say ;)

Onto My Day:
Wayne went to plow the camp road out, but after his 2 hour drive there, he got stuck as the snow drifts were to high.
So when he got home, we just sat around and and watched movies.
But before coming home he picked us up a bag of sour cream and onion chips. Everyone keeps telling me I need to eat more onions and garlic to help get rid of this cold ;)
But for some reason Kristy didn't agree, lol.

I hope you all had a creative Sunday :)
Excited to watch the Walking Dead tonight :)

Random Acts of Kindness

The other day I was on Pinterest and came across a lady that celebrated her 38th Birthday by doing random acts of kindness.
You can read about it here...How she Celebrated her Birthday.

This got me thinking as I was reading this...What have I done as Random Acts of Kindness.

1.I put my shopping cart back.
2. I have left money for others....My hubby noticed I dropped a quarter. I told him some child will pick it up and it will make their day...it did..my niece found it and was so excited.
3. I have put money in expired meters.
4. I donate clothes and household supplies to the women's shelter.
5. Crochet little bears for the hospital to give to the young children that sadly end up there.
6. I have given money to those who are a bit short in line at the grocery store....I remember one time, I heard these 3 young boys so excited to play video games and eat some goodies. When they went to pay, they didn't have enough so they were trying to decide what to put back. So I paid the difference. The teller was shocked and asked if I was sure, lol.
7. I secretly drop off goodies to the neighbours children on occasion. But I think they know who it is now, lol.
8. My daughters and I brought a big bag full of stuffed animals to the children's ward in the hospital.
9. I always print out extra coupons and give them to customers.  I didn't realize that when you go to Ikea and purchase a meal that you get the meal price off your Ikea purchase of over $100.00.  When we were on our last trip I gave it to the family behind me in line.
10. I always bring the neighbours garbage cans back to their yard after trash pick up.
11. Helped a gentleman who was in a wheelchair that got hooked up on a car bumper as the car was parked over the sidewalk.
12. I open doors for others...except for hubby, I stand aside for him to open it for me;)

These are just the ones that popped into my head while I read her post.
I didn't realize these were Random Acts of Kindness, I just thought this was common sense, or helping out our fellow citizens.

So what do you do in your everyday life that you think is just something that should be done, but others would consider it a Random Act of Kindness?

Hope you all have had a creative Saturday :)

I'm on LBBS design team !!!!

Yesterday I told you I had some fun news to share with you.
Well here it is....I was asked to be on a design team :)
Well actually I was asked to be on a couple design teams this month, but decided to go with Olga at Little Blue Button Stamps.
Olga has some of the cutest stamps and she is such a sweetheart.
Plus the other ladies on the Design Team are just the kindest, most caring ladies.
Thank you so much Olga for including me and welcoming me with open arms :)

My card today features one of Olga's digital images.
I made this card in honour of Little Blue Button Stamps Happy Friday.
They are having a sale today on their stamps :)
Go check them out :)

I coloured Rag Doll Sweetheart Shopping Day image with my Copic markers.
Who doesn't like to shop :)

I punched the clouds out with my cloud punch and popped them up with some dimensional foam after I inked around them with one of my Copic markers.

You know what I just realized.
I have been on two Digital Design Teams and both of my first cards on the team were shopping images, lol. Plus, for both companies, it was their first design teams :)
Again Thank you so much Olga for including me .

Onto My Day:
I stayed home all day..I didn't even step foot outside...except to get the mail.
I didn't think I would have Friday Night Scrapbooking tonight.
But my SIL has had this cold longer then me and refused to miss it as we didn't have it last week.
Then our friend Myra wants to come as well, as she wants to see what I had purchased on my trip and she has some new goodies to share as well.
Plus Myra is a nurse, so she is used to being around sick people, lol.

I hope you all have had a creative Friday :)

Tracy :)
