Girls Night Out

Girls Night Out.
If you are familiar with me and my friends, then you already know that we like to celebrate our birthday's with dinner and a movie out.
Last Saturday was Lynne's birthday (middle gal on the left), so she choose today for her night out.
She wanted to go to Boston Pizza, but it was over an hour and a half wait for a table, so we went to Applebees instead.

Then it was movie time :)
Lynne picked Focus…I thought it was really good.

Here we are after the show.
Denise and I are laughing as she is trying to steal my wallet. I think she thought watching the movie turned her into a professional thief,  lol.
Mind you, she did steal my belt off of my jacket, lol.

Thank you to the man who took our photo :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Tuesday :)

Getting ready for a new month

Guess what I am doing today?
I am making my calendar in my fauxbonichi :)
Colour choice for this month…purple.
I don't think I had enough purple washi tape….I had to do double or triple of the same tapes for this month…oh my, lol.

Now that the layout is complete…time for the fun part…decorating :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Monday :)

February Fauxbonichi Flip

I have been working hard on my fauxbonichi the last week or so.
As I have shared before, I was behind in my "Art Blocks" in my pages.
I am pretty good with keeping up with my journaling…or else Kristy gets on my case, teehee.
But my art blocks seem to be lacking….wait until I tell you what I had to do for March ;)

Look…see all of those red hearts….they are the days that I did over 10,000 steps in one day :)
I do notice that the days Wayne is home, I don't seem to get as many steps in….I guess those are my rest days, lol.

I did a flip of my journal for February…nothing like being behind.
If you would rather watch my video on my YouTube channel just click on the link "Tracy's Treasures24"
I hope you all had a very Creative Day.
I am enjoying my Walking Dead marathon :)

Dictionary Art

You all have been very intrigued on why I wanted an old dictionary.
Well today you find out, lol.

I found this old dictionary at the thrift store…which at even $3.00 was too much to pay, lol.
As you can see it doesn't have a front cover.

Here is the back cover…which I love the feel and vintage look to it.
But it is falling apart :(
Heather suggested I make my own cover for it…and make it into a hard cover.
Which I know how to do, but just want to work in it.

But what sold me on the, too high of price, dictionary are the inside pages.
I really really love the yellowed papers…..even though they are close to following out of the book, lol.

Tonight I did my first page.
I took a word from the dictionary "nest" and stamped my image.
Most people draw their images, but because that is not one of my strong points and I have a lot of stamps, I decided to stamp my image.
The paper is very porous and the ink (Archival)  not only sunk into the paper, it also seemed to bleed a bit.
I then used my Stampin' Up markers to colour in the image.
I added the colour on an acrylic block and picked it up with my wet paint brush.
I also did some line work because the ink made the image look like it smeared.
I had to draw the tree as there was another image on that page that took away from my stamp, so I decided to colour over it and make it look like a tree.

Even though the tree looks like an arm that needs its underpits shaved, lol.
I think I will try and draw my next image and maybe it will look more clear…we will see.

Thank you all so much for joining me today, I hope you all had a very Creative Thursday :)

Received my 1st Pocket Letter

I received a Pocket Letter today!!!!!
This beautiful piece of art is from Elise from "Feed Your Craft"
Thank you so much Elise, I was so excited, I think I may have yelled and jumped up and down ;)
Look how pretty this is :)

This was one of the cutest cards… this one is so adorable and put a smile on my face when I opened it. How cute is this little envelope, plus she stitched on it  :)
I loved reading the note and the Mail Tag….and of course the Right Now card.
Have to say we have the same taste in television shows "Walking Dead" and music "Imagine Dragons".

Elise even gave me some of her custom made flair.
I love it…so me.
You know I love my to do lists :)

Thank you so much Elise, you totally made my day,  put a huge smile on my face and made it brighter on this snowy yucky day :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Day today :)

Happy 20th Birthday Kristy

Today is my baby Kristy's 20th Birthday.
20!!!!!
Seriously where did the time go.
All of my girls are all grown up now :(
As sad as that is to me, I am so proud of the women they chose to be.
They are loving, compassionate and all have such a great sense of humour.
Can you tell I love my girls <3 p="">

It is tradition that whomever is celebrating a birthday, gets to choose where to have their birthday meal.
Kristy chose The Keg.
I found it funny as it was either The Key or Sweet G's for pancakes, lol.
I guess a steak dinner won out.

Kristy is the baker in the family.
So Ashley and Heather made Kristy's cake.
Heather baked it and Ashley decorated it….see the "20" in the icing.

I hung streamers at her bedroom door again this year.
I got up early and put them up when Wayne was getting ready for work..then I headed back to bed.
Kristy knew I had done this, because she heard Luna playing with them, lol.
I hope you had a wonderful 20th Birthday Kristy :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Monday :)

Dictionary Search

I love book stores.
But I really love used book stores.
I was looking for an old hard covered Dictionary today, in our one and only used book store.
Even though this whole top row is full of Dictionaries, none of them suited my needs.

You may be asking yourself, now why the heck would Tracy want an old dictionary, when she could have the app on her phone?
Which by the way I do, and I use it quite frequently ;)
I had seen a couple of page on Pinterest, where someone or a few someone's had drew in their bibles.
I don't follow any type of religion, but I loved this idea.
Felicia from my Fauxbonichi FB group had posted she wanted to try this in a dictionary.
I thought ..brilliant…then I thought…now why didn't I think of that, lol.
Then remembered far far far back in my mind….I did see them on dictionary pages, but totally forgot until she shared on the FB group.
I can only fit so much in this brain of mine, teehee.

So now all I need to do is find an old dictionary to try my hand with this type of art.
I really like the first set of books in the photo, but they are a set of 3 with part of the alphabet in each book.
I really don't want to work in 3 books.
So the search continues :)

I hope you had a very Creative Monday :)

Planner Day

Today is Planner Day :)
Every Sunday is my day to figure out my week and fill in my days.
At the start of each month I decorate my planner days for the month with washi tape and fill in important dates…like Kristy's birthday :)
I like to do this monthly instead of weekly, it is just easier for me.

I then add in my Personal, Home and Creative time management for each day.
Lastly I write in my Home Cleaning or my Zone tasks in each day, as well as what I am going to do with my personal time and my Creative projects I want to work on.
That is the fun and easy part…its fulfilling those tasks that is the hard part :)
Do you plan your weeks?

Onto My Day:

I got in my work shed today to cut the wood for one of the centrepieces for Ashley.
I had to move things around…..I have to really organize my work shop this summer when it is warmer.
It was cold today, but I plowed through.
I couldn't get the power to work in there…I did everything and was so frustrated.
I kept coming in the house to tell Wayne, and he would suggest resetting the breaker…which I did repeatedly.
Finally he came outside to help me out.
Guess what he did…..he reset the breaker and it worked.
Even though I did it many times, it worked for him…..so he felt like the "man".
I was just happy that I got to use my miter saw, so much easier than using a hand saw, teehee.
I just cut enough for a one as I wanted a prototype to make sure Ashley likes them before working my butt off to make them all, lol.

I hope you all had a very Creative Walking Day Sunday :)

My Weekend Coca-Cola

I had my weekend pop with supper tonight :)
To tell you the truth, the first sip wasn't as good as I remembered…..but the second sip, was deeeelicious, teehee.
As for the chicken wings, I could only eat 2 of them.
Its not that they tasted bad, I just didn't feel like eating them…but I did finish my Coke ;)

I have been filling in some blank "Art Blocks" in my fauxbonichi tonight.
I am upset as I can't find the stamp I use for keeping track of my 10,000 steps :(
I usually keep them stuck to my acrylic block, but I remember that I had took that one off to use the block for a different stamp.
I have no idea where I put it.
It is from one of Heidi Swapp's stamp set, so I guess I will be picking up another stamp set.
I know I could just use a different stamp…..but nope, I need this one, lol.

I hope you all had a creative Saturday :)
I did, and now I am going to watch a Zombie movie ;)

Happy Mail

Look even Luna is excited that I received my Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine.

Now doesn't Luna look adorable….even though she tests our nerves at times.
I thought I was going to have to take her to the vet, as Kristy seen Luna eat a hair tie and was starting on a second one.
Kristy was able to get one out of her mouth, but the first one was long gone.
I told the girls that they had to check in her litter box, if no hair tie was found…then we would need to take her to the vet.
Thankfully Heather found a upchucked hairball with a hair tie in it….so no vet visit for her :)

Now aren't you happy you came to my blog today to hear this wonderful story, teehee.

Hope you all had a very Creative Friday :)
I am, as I am spending it with my friends for Friday Night Scrapbooking :)

Sister Pages

Here are my pages coloured up.
I have only journaled on the one page of the pages today.
The Sisters on the left page are my daughters. I coloured the hair the same colours as my girl's :)
The Sisters on the left are suppose to be me and my little sister.
Both stamps are from Unity.

Here is a closer look at the coloured images which I coloured with my Copic markers.
One of the things I love about working in my Fauxbonichi is that I don't have to be perfect with my colouring.
I just colour and I don't critique every little detail :)

Onto My Day:
I went with Ashley for another dress fitting.
The dress looks so beautiful on her :)
We also took the bridesmaid dresses in to make sure that the men's ties and vests colours match.

I also put away our outdoor Christmas decor…had to climb over a snow pile to reach some of them though, plus the planter was still frozen in the icy snow.
Spring is coming soon…it always does ;)

I hope you all had a very Creative Wednesday :)

To Art Block, or Not to Art Block…that is the question.

As much as I love to journal in my Fauxbonichi, I may need to change up my layout.
As you can see, I either need a bigger "Art Block", or don't have one at all.
So what I think I may do is add the Art block as I do each day instead of at the beginning of the month. This way I can make it whichever size I need.
If I have a lot to write about, then the art blocks are perfect.
But if I don't have a lot to write, I would rather use a big stamp, like these, to take up more room on my page.

These stamps are from Unity Stamps and the sentiments that come with them, are geared towards Friends..
But when I look at these stamps they make me think of sisters.
The one with the 3 girls remind me of my 3 daughters and the one on the right reminds me of my sister and I.
Either way I adore these stamps.
Now to colour them up and write about my day :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Tuesday :)

Mail Day Organization

Today being "Mail Day" I thought it was time to totally organize my files.
Plus we had to get our papers to the accountant for income tax, so thought, since every paper was out, I might as well get them in perfect order…..yes I said perfect, lol.

I thought I was pretty organized with my paper work…but I was delusional, lol.
A few times I had just put a bunch of mail in a basket or bag if someone was coming over and stashed them.
I never did get back to those bags…..until today.
So I made some labels got down on the floor and got to work…a side note..next time I will work on the dining room table, my knees aren't cut out for this anymore ;)
The labels were:
Bills
To File
Shred
Miscellaneous
I then put each piece of appear under the label that applied to them.
I also had a pile of envelopes to be recycled off to the side.

I can't believe how unorganized they all were.
I have always had our investment papers in their own zippered page protector, but I also went into them and took out the 2013 papers and put them elsewhere and stapled all of the 2014's together with room for the 2015 papers in there.
I also labeled each zippered page protector with the account number and they are all in one binder.

My bills were paid, but not all of them were in their files.
I usually save all of our bills for the year.
But I think it is unnecessary as once the new bill comes, stating that we have paid the last one, that the old bill can be shredded.
But I will still record the payments in my book…..it is just a book keeping thing I still need to do, lol.

I put the Misc. papers in their proper place.
I didn't realize how many recalls are on our vehicles…I am thinking I need to make a few appointments for the jeeps and truck, wow.

So that is what my day consisted of.
Nothing exciting, but it is a good feeling to have all of the papers organized :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Monday :)

All about Tink Pocket Letter

Here is my second Pocket Letter.
This one started because I was given these pretty butterflies in a gift bag from Scrap for heart.
Because they were a peachy/orange colour that is where I started from.

Once I had a few of the backing papers on, I thought that I would make it in a Tinkerbell theme.
I have a friend who loves Tinkerbell.
She has no idea that I am sending this to her though ;)

I had a few fairy stamps, but no Tinkerbell stamps.
So I printed some images off of the internet and adhered them to the backing paper.
I know printing images off of the computer isn't the most creative….but hey, it worked for what I needed.
I did stamp "Tink" to this card ;)

I used a background stamp to add some colour and interest to the backs of the cards.
After the recipient takes out the goodies…if they plan on keeping them in the page protectors, I thought this may look a bit nicer than a blank page.

Here again are the cards, out of the page protectors.
I hope she likes them :)

Onto My Day:
Ashley invited me to go and pick out some flowers for her bridal bouquets and for the centre pieces.
I am making the centre pieces for the tables, so we went and picked up the supplies for those as well.
Now I just have to wait for the snow to melt so I can get into my work shed to cut some wood :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Sunday while I enjoy the Walking Dead  :)

Fauxbonichi Slacker

Being that I am a "Slacker" as Kristy has called me.
Today I have been working on catching up in my Fauxbonichi.
Most of my days have the journaling done….but not my "Art Block"

On the Fauxbonichi FB page that I follow, a couple of ladies do a prompt for every day.
So I went through all of the days and wrote (in pencil) what the prompts were for that day.
Felicia gives an art prompt daily, except on Sunday when Paula gives us a journal prompt.
I have been using the Journal prompts for the days that I am behind on, or those days that nothing happened…..I think I need more journal prompts, lol.

I don't always use the prompts….who am I kidding, I am so far behind, I haven't been doing anything, lol.
But I thought yesterdays prompt was fun.
It was to draw your day in a film strip.
Fun right….here is my take on this prompt.
I used the Tim Holtz film strip die to cut out the film strip and then drew my day in the empty spots.
Yesterday was odd weather wise. It rained, hailed and then snowed later in the evening…hence the weird weather in the block.

Now don't get excited for me…just because Friday is complete, does not mean that I am up to date.
I worked on another Pocket Letter last night during Friday Night Scrapbooking, but I will share that on another day :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Saturday :)

Pocket Letters

How many of you, have hear of Pocket Letter's?
When I had first seen them I thought….oh these are ATC's
But when I watched some videos, I realized they are and they aren't.
They are the same size as an ATC and each one is hand made.
But (to me) they are more simply made and the idea is to send them in their pocket pages.
Here are the ones I made today.

The first thing you will need are these page protectors, which are hockey or baseball card holders.
I have been keeping my ATC's in these for a while now, so I already had them on hand.
I picked mine up from Dollarama…..which is a dollar store here in Canada.

Then I went through my scrap file and cut some papers to 2.5 x 3.5.
I love the idea of using up some of my paper scraps :)

The papers I had in my scrap file were pretty thin.
So I backed them up with some card stock, also from my scraps.
I didn't have enough of the same colour of card stock to back all of the 9 cards, so I had to use a lighter pink and then inked the edges in a darker pink ink so they would look similar.

I had this heart and "love" die cut on my desk, so I figured I would use it on one of my cards :)

One other thing that is fun about these pocket letters, is that you are to slip in some goodies into the pockets.
I am planning to add some washi tape samples, twine, tags I will cut out, die cuts, and some chocolate ;)
Many of the other ladies have added special tea, but I am not a big tea drinker, but chocolate…I would be all over that, lol.

Oh ya, another great thing about these pocket letters…once they are folded in the 3 sections, they should fit in a #10 envelope.
I tried to keep all of my embellishments thin, so I could just use a regular stamp on these.

I haven't signed up for any swaps and I don't have any pen pals, but I still wanted to try my hand at these, so I am going to mail them out to some of my friends :)
Here is a link to Janette Lane's video explaining how these pocket letters work "Pocket Letters"

I hope you all had a very Creative Thursday :)

Whats on my Desk #301

Because I have been sharing my organizing and cleaning routines many of you are delusional on how I really live, lol.
And just to share how a lot of the areas in my home look, I thought I would share with you my desk.

Scary, yes I know.
And the sad thing is, I have been working on the pool/craft table lately, so I really have 2 messy desks..oh ya and the couch….I work on the couch in the evenings, lol.
The only reason there is a bit of space on the right is because I had my drawers there to do a video, as I prop my tripod on there.

Ashley came over last night to look at some paper for her guest book she would like me to make and I almost took a tumble over a few containers on my floor.
So as you may have guessed, my desk isn't the only unorganized area in my craft room….or house for that matter.

I really need to put some time aside to get my room in order….but then again, that takes away from the fun of actually creating ;)
Oh I live such a hard life, lol.

I hope you all had a very Creative Wednesday :)
I am linking my post to WOYWW

A 15 Minute Day

Today was a 15 minute type of a day.
Because Wayne took yesterday off of work, not too much got done.
I would rather spend my time with him, than clean the house.
I have no idea what is going to happen when he retires….I guess our home will go to pot, lol.

I try to do this every Monday, but it doesn't always work out that way.
But when I feel like I am behind, or need a jump start on my home cleaning. I set my timer to 15 minutes and work in each room for that amount of time.
When the timer goes off, I stop, reset it and go onto the next room.

So much can get done in 15 minutes.
For example, in the dining room, I was able to tidy up the room, hand dust the chandelier, my pictures and frames, change the table cloth and put up a new centrepiece on the table.
The 15 minutes in each room, is to make the room presentable, not to detail clean, just so when you walk in that room, it looks organized and pleasing to the eye.
Because my dining room is the least used room in the house, I was able to do a bit of detailed cleaning in here.

I also take breaks.
After doing a few rooms, I will set the timer for another 15 minutes and spend some time on the computer or reading.
This worked great today, until Heather came home from work and we decided to go in the rec-room for some "The Last of Us" gaming ;)

I hope you all had a very Creative Tuesday :)

The last of the good stash.

My last one.
I have been saving/hoarding these for so long.
But I had a craving for chocolate, so I thought I would eat half and then save the rest for another day.

Spent most of my day watching Heather play "The Last of Us"
I am blown away with the graphics in this game…it is like watching a movie.
I am so invested in the story line, that Heather isn't allowed to play it unless I can watch, lol.

As you can see Luna loves this game as well.
When the character is in the old buildings there is dust particles floating around and Luna tries to paw at them,
When the character is outside there are butterflies or fireflies fluttering about and Luna tries to catch them.
It is really cute, until a zombie is running towards us and Heather can't see to shoot them, lol.

Oh ya, and about that chocolate chunk of goodness….I ate the whole thing, teehee
I need another trip to the States for some more ;)

Off to watch the Walking Dead….a day full of zombies, a perfect day for me ;)

Hope you all had a very Creative Day :)

Are you a Creative Person?

I had seen this on a Facebook page and thought I would share this and see how it relates to all of my creative friends on here.

I will go through each point and compare it to myself first.

1. I am never bored. As long as I have a piece a paper and something to write with, I am never bored…love my lists and jot down my creative ideas :)  But then again I do like to go from craft to craft or idea to a new idea.
2. In my everyday life I am not a risk taker. I may be in my creative life, or younger years but not any more.
3. I am to obsessive to actually colour outside the lines, lol. But if I don't take this one literally, then yes I would say I don't always follow the creative rules.
4. This is me 100%
5. Mistakes are not in my vocabulary, lol.
6. I am a stickler for rules in daily life. One of my pet peeves is those that don't follow the rules…but then again, I don't follow the "creative" rules.
7. I do work better independently.  I do love to create with my friends, but that is more for the social aspect as I don't get to much done when I create with my friends ;)
8. Ohh yes I do change my mind…a lot. I think that is part of the reason I am a procrastinator…at least it sounds good, teehee.
9. I don't think I am eccentric at all…but then again you would have to ask my friends and those that know me.
10. I don't really think that I dream big. I like to have a simple life.

So if I go by this list, I am not a very Creative person.
So this list can bite me, lol.

I hope you had a very Creative Saturday…apparently I didn't, as I'm not creative, lol.

Journal and Supply Organizing

Journal Organizing Day :)
Here are some of my journals in my Raskog cart.
The ones where you can see the spines, are ones I have yet to use.
The ones where you can see the pages are the ones I have in progress.
My finished journals are stored elsewhere…..and now that I think of it, I have many other "yet to use" journals in other areas of the house…hmmmm, do you think I like journals ;)

I have most of my planner and journal supplies in my pink Craftsman tote.
If you want to see what I have stored in the tote, check out this post "Travel Tote"
But then I moved some of my supplies in a brown decorative box in the living room, as it has a lid and I  can hide my supplies if company comes over. I do most of my journaling in the living room during the evening.
But I noticed that I was  storing too many supplies in the decorative box and the lid wouldn't fit tight.
So I went back to my Craftsman tote.
Even though it is out in the open, I can hide it in my room when company comes by.

I took over the pool/craft table today to organize and go through all of the supplies that have creeped into my totes.
I had more than I needed in there.

I watched Heather play "The Last of Us" while I organized my supplies.
I am so enjoying this video game. The graphics are so detailed and the story and characters (zombies/infected) are pretty cool.
I have watched from the beginning of the game and have so much invested in the story, that I told her she can't play it without me, lol.

I hope you all had a very Creative Friday :)

Fauxbonichi March calendar

I thought I would share my month calendar in my Fauxbonichi.
Kristy asked if she could look through my Fauxbonichi.
Of course, I was so excited that she took an interest…until she scolded me for being behind on my days.
She called me a slacker!!!!!
Now I am filling in the days that I have missed…..nothing like my kid being disappointed in me to get my butt in gear, lol.

My goals are pretty much the same each month.
I did really well with both my 10,000 steps a day and curbing my pop intake in February.
Lets hope I can be just as consistent in March :)

I use washi tape to decorate my pages and to also adhere 2 pages together.
I also used the Heidi Swapp rub ons for the dates.

I hope you all had a very Creative Day :)
