Fauxbonichi Journal..Day 19 & 20 and my Honey's Booboo

I wanted to share these 2 pages in my Fauxbonichi journal as I really like how they turned out…even though I am almost a month behind in sharing them.

I used a large oval shape stencil and drew the oval.
I had this small flower stamp, but I wanted to stamp many of them and wanted them to over lap.
So I had to make a mask.
I stamped one flower on a post it note…but made sure to stamp it where the sticky part of the post it note was….then the fun part, fussy cutting it out.
As I stamped, I would move my mask on top of the flower I had just stamped.
Lastly I drew the sprigs along the oval.

I repeated this for the second page :)
Then added some colour to the flowers with my markers.

You all know how much I love my washi tape…but I decided to stamp my borders on these pages.
I did this for 2 reasons
1, I have a few (a lot) of border stamps I have yet to use.
2, I want to lessen the bulk that washi tape makes to the borders.

I really like these fall colours.
If you look closely, I added a couple of colours to the leave border stamp before stamping.

The writing took me forever to come up with on these pages.
I wanted to do different fonts for each word or sentence….but as you can see, I ended up just doing my own handwriting.
Second page.
I added colour to some of the words, the reason being, if you only read the words with colour it says "Being Creative is a Way of Life"

Onto My Day:
I didn't post last night as I was at Emergency with my husband Wayne.
He banged his hand on the cupboard when putting his razor away.
He tried to hide if from me…but when he did show Heather and I we made him go to the Hospital.
It looked like his knuckle was out of place and sticking up.

Good thing I told him to take off his wedding ring before it swelled up too much.
Supposedly it isn't broken…..but that is what they told him about his wrist when he hurt it last year, which was broken and still hasn't healed.

I made Wayne take the day off of work today.
So my day was spent watching movies with my Honey :)

I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Dictionary Art

You all have been very intrigued on why I wanted an old dictionary.
Well today you find out, lol.

I found this old dictionary at the thrift store…which at even $3.00 was too much to pay, lol.
As you can see it doesn't have a front cover.

Here is the back cover…which I love the feel and vintage look to it.
But it is falling apart :(
Heather suggested I make my own cover for it…and make it into a hard cover.
Which I know how to do, but just want to work in it.

But what sold me on the, too high of price, dictionary are the inside pages.
I really really love the yellowed papers…..even though they are close to following out of the book, lol.

Tonight I did my first page.
I took a word from the dictionary "nest" and stamped my image.
Most people draw their images, but because that is not one of my strong points and I have a lot of stamps, I decided to stamp my image.
The paper is very porous and the ink (Archival)  not only sunk into the paper, it also seemed to bleed a bit.
I then used my Stampin' Up markers to colour in the image.
I added the colour on an acrylic block and picked it up with my wet paint brush.
I also did some line work because the ink made the image look like it smeared.
I had to draw the tree as there was another image on that page that took away from my stamp, so I decided to colour over it and make it look like a tree.

Even though the tree looks like an arm that needs its underpits shaved, lol.
I think I will try and draw my next image and maybe it will look more clear…we will see.

Thank you all so much for joining me today, I hope you all had a very Creative Thursday :)

Throwback Thursday

Since I have been sharing some cards that I have made with embossing powder and water colour markers, I thought I would share an older card I had done.

For this card it is more about the stamp than the technique.
The stamp is a full coverage stamp, meaning…most of the stamp touches the paper when stamped.
After using VersaMark to stamp the image and using, clear (as the paper is white) or white embossing powder, then heat set the image.
The butterflies were the same colour as the paper, as the stamp was blank there.
I then used my Stampin' Up markers to colour the butterflies.
This could also be done with watercolour paints

I then inked the outer edges with ink.

I even did a video way back then with a tutorial :)
I made this card back in 2011.

Onto My Day:
I have been Defunkifying my Home, and yesterday I worked on the long needed Linen Closet.
I have been organizing and purging my home off and on for a while now, I have even been doing videos on the areas or rooms.

I am still debating on adding these videos on my YouTube channel and blog.
I know most of my followers come to my blog and YouTube channel because of my crafts, so not sure if anyone would be interested in these videos.
I was even thinking of starting a new YouTube channel just for Defunkifying my Home, but not sure if I could keep up with another channel, but not sure if I should add them to my current channel….so many decisions.
Any suggestions would be more than welcome :)

Hope you all had a very Creative Thursday :)

Washi, washi Who's got the washi ;)

Remember the washi tape I bought last weekend.
I thought I would un-package it all and share with you what they all look like, up close and personal.
Plus when they are un-packaged, doesn't look like I didn't buy as much ;)

Day #26
"Pen Case"
I keep my pens in my travel tote.
But I also use my Stampin' Up markers in my planner. They have a fine tip, plus I can use them with my stamps.
The tiny little tags on the left, those all all my marker colours and the names on the backside of the tags.
I really like this case as it has another zipper pouch on the back.

Onto My Day:
A friend came for tea this morning.
Kristy wasn't here to go driving, so Heather had an extra long lesson :)
Ashley came home for lunch...it was like old times :)
Wayne and I went to pick up camp groceries as we are totally closing up camp.
Then stopped off at Ashley's as Wayne wanted to check to see if her fan belt needed re-placing...it does.

I hope you all had a creative Thursday :)
