Christmas Cards 2018

I used to make many different cards for Christmas, but my dilemma was then, who gets which card....funny how it was so stressful for me, lol.
So for the last few years I have been keeping it simple and making the same card for everyone on my list.

If you remember the make and takes from the Crop & Create event, I mentioned that one of the cards,  from Sharon at the Scrapbook Cottage, was the inspiration for my cards for this year.

This is my take on Sharon's card.
I love this snowflake die set by Hero Arts..isn't it so pretty.

The first thing I did was work on the sky background.
I took Vicki Boutin's foundation paper (3 full 12x12 sheets actually) and coloured the background with distress oxide and distress inks.

I then flicked some water on the inked paper as the inks react with water.
Still doesn't look like much.

The die set comes with 2 pieces, one is in the shape of a ornament and the other a circle of snowflakes.
I used the ornament die to cut out the inked paper as it is to go behind the card front.

The snowflake part of the die, is pretty intricate, so I used a piece of wax paper in between the paper and the die to make taking off the paper easier...and you know what, it worked!!
I then adhered the coloured paper to the inside of the card.

I then stamped on the sentiment and I was done!
I really like how they turned out!!

I hope you all have a very Creative Day!

Christmas Scrapbooking Crop and Tag Exchange 2018

Every Friday Night I have a night of scrapbooking and invite my friends to join me.
I also love to host a 12 hour scrapbook get together every so often.
So I hosted a 12 hour Christmas Party/Crop.
This was also a great time to swap our tags in our annual Christmas gift tag swap.
We have to make 3 tags for each person that wants to swap.

Here are my tags.

I made mine super super easy this year.
I wanted to use a stamp set that I don't think I had used yet (I purchased it a year or 2 ago!)
It is a Stampin' Up stamp set and I really like it, so not sure why it took me so long to use it.
I used manila tags and stamped the image with a dark brown ink.
I then stamped the sentiment with the same dark brown in and then popped it up with foam adhesive.

I added some colour to this one.
I also cut this one down as it was going to have a lot of white space.
I used the pieces I cut off for the sentiment on the above tags.

I added some pop to this on as the red ornaments on the tree are red half back pearls.

Party time.
I had 10 friends come to my party as well as myself..that makes 11.
I converted my husband's pool table into a large craft table years ago and it works awesome, but this year I had to add another table and a little area for me to accommodate everyone.

Oh and we love to take selfies, teehee.

Even though it was a 12 hour crop, everyone left  with an hour to go...so I was by myself at 10:00pm...but I wasn't ready to quit, lol.
See how I made this work area for myself...I loved it!!

I made a video on my tags and my Christmas cards...I used the tags I received and forgot to share them.
I hope you all have a very Creative Day.

Scrapbook Cottage Haul 2018

This is my last haul for awhile...I promise, teehee.

At the Crop & Create event they invite the Scrapbook Cottage store..which we are so so grateful for.
I have mentioned many times that the only craft/scrapbooking store we have here in my city is Michaels and honestly as much as I love Michaels, they don't carry most of the products that we crafters need.
So I am so happy when Sharon from the Scrapbook Cottage drives the 8 hour trip all the way here from Steinbeck (or Winnipeg as she has 2 stores) to be with us.
I am sure all of us ladies make it worth the trip ;)
Here are a few of the products I picked up from Sharon's store.

I can't wait until the New Year to make time to play with all of these new goodies.

I also picked up this cup holder/trash holder.
I have been looking to get this for a few years, but the price has always kept me back. Finally (with my friends urging me along) I picked it up.
What I have done is put a small plastic bag inside this fabric bag so the adhesive bits won't get stuck to the fabric.
I also cut a circle of foam core to keep my pop can to sit on a level area as the bottom of the cup holder is metal bars.

I picked up a lot more goodies than shared in these photos...so if you would like to see everything I purchased, be sure to watch the video :)
Thank you so much for visiting me today and I hope you all have a very Creative Day💗

Crop & Create Kit Haul TBay 2018

I thought I would share the kits I purchased at the Crop & Create event.

I have mentioned this before on my blog here and also on my YouTube channel.
I love all types of crafts and paper crafting is one of my long time loves.
I used to think that when making my scrapbook layouts, I needed to be original.
I used to think, kits were not creative, they were taking someone else's ideas and just adding my own  photos to them.
Then I went to a Crop & Create event and received an Attendee kit and also purchased a kit or two.
Wow, that sure changed my mind...it also got me back into scrapbooking!!
I have to admit I don't follow the kits exactly.
I usually use the other side of the paper, or add a my own cardstock to stretch the kit..but with all that come in these kits you have the creative freedom to use the kit as is, or to make it your own.

With that being said...I went light on my purchases on kits at this event and only picked up 6.
But I do have a bundle of them from the Winnipeg event!
I think these will keep me busy until March when the Crop & Create event goes to Winnipeg and my friends and I do a road trip out there :)

I did a video on the kits I purchased with a bit of a closer look at them.

I hope you all have a very Creative Day

Crop & Create Make N Takes & Goodies

Hi...Its me Tracy.
I haven't posted in so long, that I feel as though I should reintroduce myself.

My goal in the New Year is to get back to posting on my blog and doing more YouTube videos.
The last video I did was about 6 months ago...but I sure have been doing a few of them since coming back from the Crop & Create event.

Here are a few Goodies we received from the Event.

Stampin' Up was very generous and gifted us all with this stocking kit.
So easy and fun to put together....I completed mine while watching a movie and made them into a banner.

Another generous contributor to the Crop & Create Event was from Pink Fresh Studio.
I love the heart die and the tag stamps.

Can you believe My Favorite Things not only gave us all a stamp set, but also the matching die set!!!

Again, good ol' Stampin' Up couldn't be outdone and gifted everyone not 1 but 2 stamp sets!!

And who doesn't love Lawn Fawn!
These cute owls are just so adorable and they also gifted us each this die cut.

So much more was given to us at this fun event, so I made a video to share in more detail what we all received from Crop & Create.
If you ever get a chance to attend one of these fun events, jump on it and go!!

Here is my video I hope you enjoy!

Crop & Create 2018 Fun!!

Last weekend was the event that my friends and I look forward to all year....
Crop & Create put on by Scrapbook & Cards Today.

This year we had 2 new ladies that we welcomed to our table.
One was a good friend to one of the ladies at our table...the other was from Jersey.
We had lots of laughs...lots of laughs, as we always do when we are together.

We always get a great welcome gift waiting on our chairs.
This year it was this beautiful scrapbooking kit as well as one of Scrapbook & Cards Today wonderful magazines.

Every year they have Make N Takes.
Catherine Tachdjian who is the Events manager for Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine and for the Crop & Create events, always has a beautiful charm/necklace that she makes with us.

This is Catherine's daughter Erica, she taught a card Make N Take...she did a great job too.

Vicki Boutin shared her products for her Make N Take.
I sadly didn't get to her Make N Take as there was a line up. Funny thing was when I went to the room where the they were holding the Make N Takes, Vicki was sitting by herself and I thought she was eating her dinner and didn't want to interrupt her, lol.

Nicole Nowosad taught a fun shaker card for her Make N Take.
My brain was not working that day and she must have thought this was my first time crafting, lol

Sharon Riemer is the owner of The Scrapbook Cottage in Steinbach and one in Winnipeg, she sets up her store here every year...which we so appreciate.
Sharon taught this beautiful card for her Make N Take.

I wanted to pack light this year, so I brought this "Summer Days 6x8 mini album kit.
So much easier to pack when I bring a kit, let it be one I purchased or one I put together myself.
I actually completed the whole mini album!

Our table was so lucky with winning prizes!!
I won this paper pad....not that I needed more paper...oh what am I talking about, we all need more paper, teehee.

I was also gifted this wonderful stamp set 💗

This event was so much fun and we are already looking forward to the next one!

I hope you all have a very Creative Day

Happy 2nd Birthday Master Sawer

It was my Grandson's 2nd birthday.
How has 2 years gone by so fast!?!

I made Sawyer this birthday card as his birthday was a construction theme.
The base is done the same way I did his banner....which I share below.
I used distress ink (on watercolour paper) for the background and then flicked water on it with just my fingers.
I did the sandy ground the same way as the sky, but popped it up for dimension.
The truck and sign are pop up stickers ;)

Sawyer wasn't up to celebrating his birthday....its okay honey, lots of people don't like birthdays either, teehee.
Actually he woke up with a cough and his molars are coming in.
He was good all day, except when his mommy wanted to get a little photo shoot in and when we tried to sing Happy Birthday to him.

Sawyer's Aunty Heather gave him some Lego's and built him a giraffe which he loved.

I made Sawyer a birthday banner for his party.
I started with hand cutting 40 banners.
20 orange and 20 smaller ones in black.

Ashley wanted the banners to have a construction look to them.
I didn't have construction looking paper, so I made some.
I used some orange cardstock and added some diagonal stripes with a thick black marker.

I then adhered the black card stock.

I then used my cricut to cut out the letters.....that is about the only thing I do use my cricut for.

Here is the completed banner!!
Well I did add some of those dimensional stickers on some of the banner pieces.

Sawyer was much happier at his kiddie birthday party.
We did skip singing "Happy Birthday" though.

Hope you all have a great creative day.

Halloween Crop of 2018

I love a good crop...and I love to host crops.
A crop is when scrapbookers get together to create...just in case you don't know.
I have been putting on scrapbooking crops in my home for quite a few years now.....these are different then my Friday Night Scrapbooking get togethers.

Most of my Scrapbooking Crops (and the ones I attend) are at least 12 hours long.

Now to the decorating!!!
I love to decorate just as much as I like to scrapbook.
My daughter Ashley also loves to decorate for these events I host.

Looks like this scrapbooker was chained to her/his chair and needed help completing their page, teehee.

The Halloween banner was from a swap I was part of that Gail (The Happy Stamper) hosted.
I made the second "E"

The zombie area and the dress up center, if anyone didn't have a costume, they could use one of these.

The witches caldron mixing up a brew.

Here is the full view of the witches table.

Here is my craft table.
I have enough room to fit 8 people comfortably....unless you are like some of my friends who like to take over other areas other then their own, lol.

This is a new display this year.
My husband had this fish tank that he built into the wall...all the fish have long ago died, and the tank is dry.
Ashley got me to run to Dollarama to pick up these skeleton piranhas and we tied them to fishing line and dangled them in the tank.

Here are my friends and I.
Lynne, me and Sharon.
Lynne is the Snowflake queen.
I'm a Little Devil.
Sharon is Kitty..meow.
These ladies are some of my biggest cheerleaders 💗💗

Denise is the Ringleader.
Not only in her costume.

My little skeleton cutie Dawson 💗

My oldest daughter Ashley came as a skeleton (as did her babies), Kristy came as a doctor.  Unfortunately Heather didn't dress up.

And here is Sawyer in his costume....which he didn't want to put on at first.

My friend Ingrid came as a pumpkin....she is such a trooper as she had just had carpel tunnel surgery the day before.

So I dressed up her bandage as Ghosty.

We always have such a great time when we are together and 12 hours still wasn't enough time!
I didn't scrapbook, I worked on my knitting that I need to complete for a Christmas gift.

I hope you all have a very Creative day.
