Heather's 27th Birthday and her Birthday Card

Today is my middle daughter Heather's 27th Birthday!!
I made her this card to celebrate.
Heather loves Gorjuss girl images.
Actually she was the first one to introduce me to them, as she had a picture of one on her desktop many years ago.
So every year I make her a card with a Gorjuss girl image.
This one is perfect for her as she loves cats.

Heather is not really a girly girl...she doesn't like frills or pinks or anything to too over the top girly.
But when I saw this paper and the greens went so well with my coloured image, I just had to use it...plus it was on my desk.
To tone down the pinks, I added this green flower as it matched her dress.

I wanted it to look like "Ruby" was swinging in amongst the flowers, but if I had fussy cut her out, she would have got lost in the background paper.
I decided to just fussy cut out her legs and and mat the rest of her on grey cardstock.

Here are the colours I used to colour her up with.

I added green sparkle to her hair ties, dots on her dress and the ruffles.
You can see it a bit on her ruffles.

Happy Birthday Heather, I hope you have a fantastic day!!!

I did a video on her card, if you would rather watch it on my YouTube channel, just click the link "Tracy's Treasures24"
I hope you all have a very Creative Day πŸ’—

Baby Boy Afghan

I created another crocheted baby afghan :)
This time for a baby boy!

I just love the scalloped edge to this pattern.
This is the pattern I made up from looking at a photo of one that didn't have a pattern to it.
It is really quite simple.
It all double crochets.
The main colour is 3 double crochets in each space.
The multi coloured border is also worked in the spaces with 3 double crochets.
The mint scallops are 5 double crochets worked in every second space, and slip stitch in every other space....but 6 dc's in the corners.
The grey trim on the scallops are (slip st, chain 2, slp st) in each dc and just sl st in the slp st of the mint colour.
Clear as mud, lol.

I added an extra stitch early in on the afghan.
I knew I could have hid it when doing the trim, but my husband knows me well, as he said it would drive me crazy...and he was right.
So rip, rip, rip....luckily only had to rip out 2 rows.

Then at the end when I was doing the edging, I did 5 dc's in each space...not only every second space...grrr.
As I was crocheting it, I knew something wasn't right...but I just kept on going....until the end.
Realized it when I was done, so this was a major rip out, lol.

But with the mishaps, it turned out beautifully and Lia (the new mom to be) loved it, so that is all that matters.
I did a video on the afghan.

I hope you all enjoy a creative day πŸ’—

Tracy's Tips...How to make Multi-coloured images.

Lately I have noticed that when I make seasonal cards, I make them in bulk.
I have also noticed even though I love to colour, I don't care to colour the same images in the same colours over and over again.
I came up with this idea quite a few years ago.
Photo copy my original images :)

*Note, these photos were taken from my video, so not the most clear.

After I stamp and colour my images (usually with my Copics) I then run them through the photo copier in the fine or best setting.
I am so impressed with how well they come out.
If anything the colours may turn out a tad lighter.
This time my photo printer was running very low on ink, so the colours were more light than usual.
But what I did do with these ones, was just take my lightest colour marker that I had used and go over that area with it :)

I am all about giving credit where credit is due, I am also all about following the rules.
I went to each Stamps Angel Policy to see if this is okay to do.
And because I purchased these stamps for my personal use and I am not selling these images then I am good :)

I did a video about this with a bit more information :)
If you want to watch it on my YouTube channel, just click on the link "Tracy's Treasures24"
I hope my tip helped you out if you plan on colouring the same image over and over :)

Celia's Crochet Baby Afghans

Here is the baby afghan I made for Baby Celia πŸ’—
This is my 5th baby afghan I have made in a year.

This is the first time I used this pattern....every other one I had made, the pattern was a shell pattern and I wanted to change it up this time.
I just love love love the scallop edge on this one with the grey trim on the pink scallops.

Just look at that edge!!!!
I just think it looks so pretty.

I saw this type of afghan on Pinterest and loved how it looked, but when I clicked on the link, it was for the completed afghan, not the pattern.
I really wanted to make this pattern, so I figured out the pattern by looking at the photo.
I can't say if this is exactly as the one on Pinterest, but it doesn't matter, I love how it turned out....so much so that I am making one for a baby boy now.

The pattern is a granny square in a row, so all double crochets.
I was jotting down on scraps of paper what I was doing for this pattern.... on many different pieces of paper, lol
I finally put them all together and wrote down the pattern.

I did a video showing the 2 different types of baby afghans I have made.

Polaroid Frame class & Tutorial

I was asked by our local Heart &  Stroke Foundation if I could teach a class at their yearly crop.
I have taught a class there before so I knew what to expect.
The class holds up to 12 people, it is to be no longer then a 30 minute class and we are to supply the supplies..or ask those that are taking the class to supply them.

I wanted the class to be quick...as I like to go to crops to visit with my friends and create.
I also made the class more of a make & take as opposed to a "class".
I did show a technique that was new to many of the ladies there...and they seemed quite happy with the results, so that was good πŸ˜ƒ

The technique I shared was how to form simple punched out flowers to make some dimensional layered flowers with whatever you had on hand.
In this case I brought with me some Sharpie markers to use to form the flowers in the palm of your hand.

Most of the teachers were demonstrators....I am not, lol
So I had to supple my own supplies, and because of that I always use what I have...or in this case mostly scraps for the punch outs.
I drew the frames and then cut them all out on the Brother Scan N Cut machine.
Everything else was punched out....besides the pearls for the center of the flowers.

I am happy with how these turned out...so much so that I gave each of my friends a kit to take home πŸ’—

I also did a video tutorial on how I made these as well as how I used a couple of these frames.
Here is the link directly to my YouTube channel "Tracy's Treasures24"

Thank you all so much for visiting me today and I hope you all have a very Creative Day πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day πŸ’—
I hope you were able to spend your day with your special someone, or spent the day being good to you.

Here is a card I made for my husband.
I used one of the polaroid frames I made for a class I taught at the Craft for Heart event...which I will share with you soon.

This cute image is from Taylor Expressions which I received in my SCT Sampler kit!
Cute right?!!

I used my Copics to colour them up.
Here are the colours I used.
I also used a blue, red and yellow Spica glitter pens.

I just love this image...and it came with the matching die!!!

I made this card for my grandson Sawyer.
I liked the card, then my daughter told me he took off the top layer....I think I may need some stronger adhesive, lol.

I coloured the elephant with my Copics, but I didn't use my Copic papers, just regular 110 lb cardstock, so the colours didn't blend as nicely.
I paper pieced the umbrella and punched out some tiny hearts and adhered them.
Now that I'm looking at this image...I see I forgot to draw in his tail, lol.

With it being Valentine's Day, I have a gift for you all.
I started up a new FaceBook group.
I still have my Tracy's Treasures page, but the only way you all could share with me, was through private messages.
I wanted a group where we all could share what we are doing.
So after a year or more thinking about it, I finally did it!!
Here is the link, and I hope you all join me and share your projects and share your love to others on theirs.

I hope to see you there πŸ’—

Shower for Baby Celia

I know how much I love to decorate for a special occasion.
This occasion was very special, the birth of my great niece Celia.

My daughter Kristy made and decorated the cake.
Not only is it beautiful, it was sooo delicious. Buttercream icing..hello πŸ’—
This is one of her many talents.
She also made the cake for her sister Ashley's wedding!!
I made the cake banner with some card stock pretty decorative paper and some letter stickers.

My nephew named Celia after his grandmother, which is my husband's mother.
She was such a sweet lady.
Celia's middle name came from my nephew's fiancee's grandmother...who was at the shower. She is 94, not only does she not look her age, she is sharp as a tack.

Marilyn made an appearance in the decor as well.

I made a wall banner for the baby.
I so wanted it to be part of the decor, but no matter what we tried, it didn't look right to us.
So hopefully it will fit in with her nursery.

Here is a functional cake...a diaper cake :)
Not only did it serve as decor for the shower, but mommy and daddy can use them when needed...you can't have to many diapers.

My nephew and his fiancee are so thoughtful.
They gave a flower to everyone who attended the baby shower.
They even hand made the cards πŸ’—
I was so touched by their gesture.
Then when everyone was gone, my daughter's and I were given gift certificates for pedicures for hosting the shower...talk about feeling appreciated.
I made a video on the decor :)

I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Baby Mobile Decoration for the Baby Shower

Oh my goodness, I have so much to share with you all...this is what happens when I stop blogging for awhile.
My husband had a birthday.
I went to a crop with my friends.
My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and went away to the Bluefin Bay Resort for a week to celebrate...more on that in another post.

And I hosted a baby shower for my nephew's beautiful baby girl.

This is a mobile I made for the center of my dining room table.
I started with some small tissue paper flowers I made and I tied them off with ribbon and left the strings long.
I then tied them to the chandelier at different lengths.
I then cut circles out of light pink decorative cardstock and stamped images of baby things in pink ink
Here is a close up of some of the images I used.

And here is the star of the show.
Baby Celia, who is named after my husband's mom πŸ’—

And baby Celia and I.
I kind of kept her to myself....once I have a baby in my arms, I never want to let them go.

I think the shower was a success.
Everyone enjoyed the decor, my daughter Kristy's cake (which I will share tomorrow) and my daughter Ashley's photography....which these photos are from ;)

I really need to blog more constantly...I really don't like playing catch up :)

I hope you all have a very Creative day :)
