I can not tell you how happy and excited I am to not only be a grandma for the first time, but that my daughter Ashley and her handsome little guy is healthy and happy.
Baby Sawyer was born on Oct 27 weighing 8 lbs 7 ozs.
And he is perfect!!!
Isn't he the cutest!!
I don't need you to answer I know its a YES ;)
This is the first time I got to hold him.
He had my heart before I even saw him..now he has my heart for ever.
That is Tyler, his daddy, Ashley's husband standing behind me.
Here he is again...Oh there is nothing sweeter than holding a baby and taking in their baby scent.
Today being that is Halloween, we had to dress him up.
Well actually he had a few costumes...thats what happens when you are born into a family full of girls...lots of changing of outfits, teehee.
Aunty Heather designed and came up with this one.
Harry Potter never looked so cute :)
He was also dressed up as Spiderman (baby) and Superman (baby) :)
We are just over the moon happy to have this little guy in our lives and can't snuggle him enough.
I hope you all have a very creative day...now excuse me while I go and cuddle my grandson <3 p="">

Scrapbook Layouts and a Walking Dead marathon
I was able to do some scrapbooking today!!!
That scrapbook kit that I pulled out everyday for the last few days...I finally was able to get some of my creative juices going to work on it.
See all of those pretty flowers...They were all fussy cut out...you know how much I LOVE to fussy cut, lol.
But it was well worth it because they look so pretty.
Actually I had no idea what I was going to do with this page until I started cutting out the flowers and dropping them on the 12x12 paper....as they were falling, I thought oh I like that...and that is how this page came about :)
This second page is actually close to the one they shared in the kit.
I changed it up by adding my own paper with the "Life" statement on it.
The "Family sparkle word on the above layout, is suppose to go on the strip of paper...but I didn't want to cover those words so I changed it.
Also the Polaroid cluster is suppose to be there the "Life" statement is, but I just moved it.
The kit came with 1- 12x12 piece of the polkadot foil paper.
So in order to have it on my second layout, I cut a piece from under the "Life" strip and where the photo blocks are..I should have took a photo of this layout from behind, lol.
I set up a TV tray up and worked on my layouts while watching my Walking Dead marathon :)
Okay, I am off for the rest of the evening.
Not accepting phone calls, texts, or checking out Facebook...why?
Walking Dead Season 7 starts soon!!!!
I am so pumped!!!
I hope you all had a very creative weekend :)

Make & Takes from Crop & Create
Another fun thing we get to do at the Crop & Create event is to create some Make and Takes...if you want to wait in line.
But in all honesty when waiting in line, that is how I get to meet even more ladies :)
Mind you our city is probably one of the smallest ones to have this event, I couldn't imagine the bigger cities...I may have to try to go to one in the bigger cities out one day :)
Now isn't this a sweet card :)
Not only did we get to make this card, but we were also given the rest of the 12x12 cut apart sheet that this one came on!!!
Our teacher was Layle Koncar from Simple Stories.
The next make N take was this pocket, it had the longest line, because it was a more detailed card as we had to do a bit of colouring....which I didn't have my glasses with me, so excuse the "out of the lines" colouring, teehee.
I still think this cute pocket turned out pretty sweet.
Virginia Nebel taught this one.
Look at these poor ladies having to eat on the run as they were just so busy.
I think this may have been the quickest one of all.
"Joy" was to be stamped on the tag, but I decided to use a different stamp when I decide to mail this out....thats right, I have trouble following instructions :)
Nicole Nowosad taught this Make N Take.
We had a demonstration /Make N Take with the Minc machine.
It is such a fun machine...one I don't think I would use all that much, but fun none the less.
Vicki Boutin demo'd this one.
She really knows how to make that Minc sing, teehee.
This card was made playing with the Distress crayons.
I was happy to try my hand at them as I just purchased 3 sets for 20.00 on our local Craft Buy and Sell :)
I may have picked up a new set of colours from the Scrapbook Cottage ;)
This card/ Make N Take was taught by Sharon, the owner of The Scrapbook Cottage.
The Scrapbook Cottage is the vender that comes all the way from Manitoba (about an 8 hour drive) so us ladies have a store to shop at during the crop.
We are always so excited when Sharon and her sister Jen come, as they are so friendly, knowledgeable and our only place to shop as we don't have a local scrapbooking store in my city.
Every year we get to make a beautiful pendant.
I have all the ones that we have made and I get compliments on them whenever I wear them :)
This was taught by Catherine Tachdjian.
Catherine is the founder and publisher of Scrapbook & Cards today.
She is also the incredible lady that puts on this event...and we are so thankful for her.
This photo is at the photo wall of my friend Debbie, me, Catherine and my friend/SIL Sharon.
I will share more pics and goodies in future blog posts.
So thank you to all of the teachers, vendor and all of my friends for making this weekend such a special one <3 p="">
Onto My Day:
No crafting for me today.
I did pull out that scrapbook kit, picked out some cardstock, and put it all back a few hours later, lol.
But I did watch Season 4 of the Walking Dead ;)
I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Projects from Day 2 at Crop & Create
This is the project I worked on ALL day and ALL evening at the Crop & Create event on the Saturday.
My friend Lynne and I both worked on it as we purchased the kit at this same event last year.
I took a few pictures of the inside of the mini album.
There are so many fun flips in this book :)
If you are not familiar with the papers and embellishments, they are from Heidi Swapp.
Such pretty papers and I love the acetate butterflies.
I think Lynne may have got a bit frustrated with me, as she was following not only the instructions, but my pages.
And with almost everything I create, I don't follow the instructions, lol.
Onto My Day:
I am still enjoying my Walking Dead marathon, so today was Season 3!!!
Yesterday while watching my show, I worked and completed my grandson to-be's crochet baby afghan.
Today I thought I would bring up my scrapbooking supplies and a kit to work on.
I didn't get anywhere with it...besides seperate the papers and embellishments.
You see, a friend took the class for this kit and she wasn't really feeling it, plus she was more interested with making the cards and they didn't get to that in the class....so she gave me the kit.
I couldn't believe that she did that <3 p="">But because she had completed 2 pages and only needed the embellishments on next 2 pages, I have been having trouble working on it.
When I get a kit, I usually switch up somethings and I get more pages than the kit is expected to make, I also add some of my own supplies.
So because I wasn't able to scrimp on the papers, I am having to rethink some things ;)
It will get done though....maybe tomorrow while I watch Season 4 ;)
I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Crocheting and Zombies
Crocheting a baby blanket while watching The Walking Dead...isn't that what all grandma to-be's do ;)
If you remember from this post "Oops"...I took apart the error on my baby afghan and fixed it.
It took 2 minutes to rip apart the 1 hour of crocheting I had done.
But I am happy to announce that I have completed the baby afghan!!
Now Ashley is allowed to have her baby, teehee.
I changed up the scalloped edge from the pattern.
I actually like my version better and I think it was easier and quicker to do as well :)
I also completed watching season 2 of The Walking Dead.
It was 9.63 hours of pure enjoyment :)
Mind you I didn't get in many steps today, but I did complete the afghan, so I feel a bit accomplished.
Tomorrow is season 3!!
I hope you all have a very creative day.
I did :)

Crop & Create 2016 - Day 1
I have to say the Crop & Create event put on by Scrapbook & Cards Today was an awesome event!!!
We always have a blast.
This year I brought kits.
I wanted my packing to be easier, and this way, I wouldn't have to bring 1/2 the stuff I own, lol.
Friday the crop started at 3:00 and lasted until midnight, so I brought a card kit I purchased from Pine City Scrapbooking.
Aren't these cards so cute :)
I also brought my Copic markers to colour in the images that needed to be coloured.
I brought my Copics home at the end of the night, so Sunday at the end of the crop, I would have less to pack up...at least I hoped that this would be the case.
Here are the last 2 cards from the kit.
Isn't that baby card so cute...and that silhouette card is gorgeous.
I did a lot of visiting (as I usually do) but didn't shop the first day...I know hard to believe right ;)
Don't fear though....this was just the first day of the crop.
I took a wee nap on the couch today as there were some late nights.
But have decided to have a Walking Dead marathon until the new season starts this Sunday.
Today is Season 1.
I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Crop & Create Weekend
I am so so excited!!!!!
It is the weekend of Crop & Create!!!
Crop & Create is a 3 day crop that Scrapbook and Cards Today puts on....and it is AWESOME!!
Can you tell I am excited :)
Can you believe this is all that I am bringing with me for a 3 day crop.
As my friend Denise said, we are either getting better at packing or maybe being more realistic on what we actually get done.
I think more realistic, lol.
I have brought a few kits, some I purchased and some I had put together.
Yes, I am bringing my Copics as well.
I am bringing a card kit and the images need to be coloured....so I will colour them tonight (as the crop is from 3:00-midnight today) and bring my Copics home with me when I leave.
It is less than 10 minutes away from where I live, so I will be heading home at the end of each night.
Now I'm not saying I won't be bringing anything new with me the next day.....but we will see how much I get done.
I seem to enjoy visiting too much as these events...plus they have a great vender there all the way from Manitoba called Scrapbook Cottage.
Oh my I'm so excited....it is going to be so much fun.
Hope you all have a very creative day...I know I will :)

Oops
Can you see what is wrong with this picture?
I crocheted the wrong colour!!!
Each colour takes 45 to 60 minutes to complete.
So I just wasted about an hour crocheting the wrong colour :(
I was a bit frustrated so I haven't worked on it for a couple of weeks....time to pick it up and complete it.
I won't want baby to come before I'm done with his afghan ;)
I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Hanging Around
The Monday after our trip, Ashley took the day off work...which meant work for me, lol
She gets cheap labour out of me, all I ask for is a hug :)
What Ashley needed me for was to help her hang up some items for the baby's room.
And with her and I being somewhat of perfectionists....it took a bit for them to be perfect.
Look how perfect they are!!!
I love the prints she ordered.
They go perfectly with the theme of his room.
Then I had to put up shelves for the reading nook.
I love books and am so happy that I have passed on the love of reading to my daughters and so happy that Ashley is going to pass it down to her children.
Not only did she need me in the baby's room, but she also had me hang up these frames in her kitchen.
Also finally hung up their wedding vows in their bedroom....which was a year ago ;)
And yes I got my hug before I left for the day ;)
I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Our Fall Display
Happy Fall :)
My daughter Kristy and I finally did our fall display.
Kristy came up with this idea.
She showed me the sign she wanted to make, so I made the background or plaque, with scrap wood I had in my work shed.
We used my Cricut to cut out the letters to use as a template and Kristy painted the letters on.
We also used some of the mini lights that my oldest daughter, Ashley, had from her wedding last year.
I just love how it turned out.
You know when you are just about to fall asleep and make your todo list for the next day, but am to tired to get up and get a note pad to write it down?!?
Take my advice...get up and write it down.
Here is why....
I keep a blanket and also a shower curtain in my jeep
The blanket makes sense, but the shower curtain you may have questions about.
I use my jeep as most use their trucks...I haul lots of different materials in it.
Wood, soil, groceries, pregnant ladies ;)
So the night before I left to pick up the hay bales, I reminded myself to put the shower curtain in the jeep as I took it out when we went for our girls trip.
I also wanted to take a knife or sharp scissors to cut some bull rushes on the drive to pick up the hay.
Guess what I forgot....both, lol.
And here is the results of forgetting the shower curtain, lol
So we had a hay bale sitting in our front yard, so I picked up another one.
So then we had 2 hay bales sitting in our front yard, lol.
I was able to throw together the sign quickly, but Kristy wanted to paint it herself and work interfered with that.
So instead of just having a couple of hay bales sitting in our front yard, I put the flowers on it.
Then on grocery day, I grabbed a couple of pumpkins for our display.
I told Kristy our neighbours were probably wondering what was happening in our yard, as every day our display changed, teehee.
And the final result....unless we add to it again, teehee.
I hope you are all enjoying this fall weather and getting as much out of it until the cold winter sets in.
We closed up the cottage today, it seems like we had just opened up for the season.
Time really does go by so fast as I am working on New Years goals.
