Make & Takes from Crop & Create

Another fun thing we get to do at the Crop & Create event is to create some Make and Takes...if you want to wait in line.
But in all honesty when waiting in line, that is how I get to meet even more ladies :)
Mind you our city is probably one of the smallest ones to have this event, I couldn't imagine the bigger cities...I may have to try to go to one in the bigger cities out one day :)

Now isn't this a sweet card :)
Not only did we get to make this card, but we were also given the rest of the 12x12 cut apart sheet that this one came on!!!

Our teacher was Layle Koncar from Simple Stories.

The next make N take was this pocket, it had the longest line, because it was a more detailed card as we had to do a bit of colouring....which I didn't have my glasses with me, so excuse the "out of the lines" colouring, teehee.
I still think this cute pocket turned out pretty sweet.

Virginia Nebel taught this one.
Look at these poor ladies having to eat on the run as they were just so busy.

I think this may have been the quickest one of all.
"Joy" was to be stamped on the tag, but I decided to use a different stamp when I decide to mail this out....thats right, I have trouble following instructions :)

Nicole Nowosad taught this Make N Take.

We had a demonstration /Make N Take with the Minc machine.
It is such a fun machine...one I don't think I would use all that much, but fun none the less.

Vicki Boutin demo'd this one.
She really knows how to make that Minc sing, teehee.

This card was made playing with the Distress crayons.
I was happy to try my hand at them as I just purchased 3 sets for 20.00 on our local Craft Buy and Sell :)
I may have picked up a new set of colours from the Scrapbook Cottage ;)

This card/ Make N Take was taught by Sharon, the owner of The Scrapbook Cottage.
The Scrapbook Cottage is the vender that comes all the way from Manitoba (about an 8 hour drive) so us ladies have a store to shop at during the crop.
We are always so excited when Sharon and her sister Jen come, as they are so friendly, knowledgeable and our only place to shop as we don't have a local scrapbooking store in my city.

Every year we get to make a beautiful pendant.
I have all the ones that we have made and I get compliments on them whenever I wear them :)

This was taught by Catherine Tachdjian.
Catherine is the founder and publisher of Scrapbook & Cards today.
She is also the incredible lady that puts on this event...and we are so thankful for her.
This photo is at the photo wall of my friend Debbie, me, Catherine and my friend/SIL Sharon.
I will share more pics and goodies in future blog posts.

So thank you to all of the teachers, vendor and all of my friends for making this weekend such a special one <3 p="">
Onto My Day:
No crafting for me today.
I did pull out that scrapbook kit, picked out some cardstock, and put it all back a few hours later, lol.
But I did watch Season 4 of the Walking Dead ;)

I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Crop & Create Make N Takes

I have been jet setting around (not really ;)) and have been so busy, that I have had this post in my drafts for a while now…thought I had better get this on my blog, before the next event, teehee.

Crop & Create make and takes are always so awesome!!

Look at this adorable owl pendent we made..is this so flippin' adorable!!
I am actually wearing it today :)
I was a bit bothered that the pattern on his belly wasn't centre…but Catherine told me to let it go….hard as it is, I think I can :)

Here is Catherine  and I at the photo wall :)
This lady puts on a great and memorial event every year, and my friends and I are so thankful that she does :)

We had a wonderful demo of the Heidi Swapp Mink machine.
I remember foiling with tacky glue and foil sheets…..lets just say, this is way easier and neater to work with ;)

And who did this demo?
None other than Vicki Boutin :)
I have to say this lady is hilarious and has so many fun stories…much to her families dismay I am sure, lol.

As most of you know, I love the Angiegirl images.
this one is a new one, and we were able to colour her in with water colour crayons.
I have never worked with watercolour crayons before….I may stick to my watercolour pencils.

One of my favourite stamp designers/artists is Angie Blom as she is the lady that designs the ANGIEgirls.
My friend wanted to see my art journal (which I have been neglecting this summer) so I snuck out to show Angie…I felt like a kid showing their teacher their work, teehee.
Plus Angie kept me up to date with the kits coming out…enabler ;)
Don't I look tall in this picture, I must have been on my tip toes, teehee.

How cute is this card?!!
The stems of the flowers are made with colour stir sticks…so fun.

This card was taught by Virginia Nebel.
Thank you Virginia for letting me sneak into your class at the end of it to nab your last class kit..I didn't want to miss out on your wonderful kit :)

Another fun and bright card :)
I love that you can showcase a word with that heart die :)
I know my friend Lynne purchased the sticky word tape….so I may need to borrow some of that ;)

The wonderful Kimber McGray taught this card make and take :)
This is the first year that I was able to meet Kimber.
Sweet lady…even though she was up later than she likes to due to her flight mishap :)

I would like to give a big Thank You to all of these ladies.
Without them this event just wouldn't be the same….they are all so friendly and love to chat just as much as I do.
I actually think I did more visiting than I did creating this year….but its all good, especially when we only get to see them once a year :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Day :)
