Re-Organizing my 6x6 Paper Pads

I had a bit of time in my day to work on my 6x6 and 8x8 paper pads.
I had these all nice and organized..you can see that in this post "Defunkifying my 6x6 Paper Pads"
I still like how they are organized, but my containers shrunk some how ;)

I really like the looks of these weaved baskets and they are sturdy with their thick wire frame.
But they got to small.
Plus the cubbies where they go are longer than these containers, so there was a bit of wasted space.

Here are my paper pads in their new containers.
I just stuck the labels on the front of the containers.
The paper pads you see on the sides are the 8x8 paper packs. They don't fit as well in the containers as the edges are a bit more narrow because of the rounded corners.

Guess what else I had time for….
The easiest treat you could make…plus I make it in the microwave, so even easier ;)

Proud Tuesday :
I am still proud of completing my 1/2 Marathon :)
So proud that I made a quick photo video :)
So I am off on another adventure :)
Just Kristy and I ….so early wake up for me.
And here I thought that I could relax after closing up camp…..not yet ;)

Hope you all had a Creative Tuesday :)

Fisherman's Dream card

This is the first time I have tried my hand at one of these types of cards.
I have heard them called Box cards, Explosion cards and Pop Up cards.
What ever the proper name is…I'll be making them again.
I made this for my dad's 70th Birthday.
He lives in Winnipeg and Kristy and I are going there for a concert, so I will be able to hand deliver this to him :)
He doesn't know we are coming..but no worries, he doesn't have a computer and probably doesn't even know I have a blog ;)

The thing that is so cool about this card is that it has layers inside the box.
Which makes adding dimension to the card so much fun :)
The fish is a stamped image which I coloured and fussy cut out.
The bull rushes are punched with a Stampin' Up punch…which I then fed through one end of the paper not the punch again, to make them smaller….my video has more info on this.
The grass and stems are just cut out free hand.
The water is punched out with the Martha Steward "Drippy Goo" punch.
See the lure?
I stamped it on clear acetate with staz-on ink and coloured it in on the back with a Copic marker.

Here is the card folded up flat for mailing.
The bottom flaps can be folded up as well.

Here is my video…if you would rather watch it on my YouTube channel, just click the link "Tracy's Treasures24"
I am so excited to make another one, but with bright happy colours :)

Hope you all had a Creative Monday :)

A beautiful day for a photo shoot.

I love when my oldest daughter Ashley takes photos.
She has a way of looking at things in a way that most don't think of.

Every once in a while she will get her sisters to be her models or help her prep for a photo shoot.
Yesterday Kristy and Blake were her models.
And such good looking models they are ;)

Another sweet photo of these two :)
I love black and white photography, it is ageless.

But then again colour really brings life to the subjects and the background.

And then we get these kinds of photos :)
I love that they enjoy being silly.

I love that my daughter loves photography. She is an artist and I get the rewards…. gorgeous photos of my family :)

Hope you all had a Creative Sunday :)

Scrappy Girls Challenge….my turn

I have shared with you the projects my Scrappy Girls and I have made with our challenges.
The first challenge being to use buckles on our card.
You can check out the details of this card and the scrappy girls cards on this post "Buckle Challenge Cards"

The next Scrappy Girls challenge was to use match sticks on our card or project.
You can check out this card for more details on this post "Match Stick Challenge Take 1" and my second card on this post "Match Stick Challenge Take 2"

Both of these challenges were our friend Denise's ideas.
So I thought I would like to come up with one.
Funny when I thought of my first challenge, many other challenges came to mind :)
Here is my first challenge for our group.
To use one or more of these speech bubbles on a card or project.
I picked up this large pack at Michael's for a great price, so the girls grabbed a few and are excited to get started.
Sharon has finished hers already, as I let her know about my challenge last Friday and the other girls just found out about it yesterday.
Sounds like most of the ladies already know what they are going to do…thats good because I don't, lol.

I have been working on a masculine Birthday card.
It is a pop up, explosion card or box card. There are so many names for them ;)
I have almost completed this card and so far I'm liking it.
But I did almost have a heart failure, as I spilled my glass of ice cold Coke (my weekend pleasure) and it almost got absorbed by my card :(
You have never seen a person move so fast as I did….I actually moved my card before my cell phone, lol.
Priorities people, lol.

Hope you all had a Creative Saturday :)

Beautiful Fall Day

It was a warm and beautiful fall day today.
I went for a walk after I dropped Kristy off at work.
It was gorgeous out.

I know the days of me going for my out door walks are coming to an end and I will be doing my daily walks on the treadmill.
But until then….I am going to enjoy every single minute I can outdoors.
The leaves are falling off the trees at record speed.

I walked around the golf course a few times and saw this guy flying this huge kit.
I was mesmerized by it.
It was so high, I could see it no matter where I was during my walk.
If you look closely you can see the guy flying it.
Even though it wasn't windy at all, he looked like he might just lift off the ground :)

I like this photo as not only could I still see his kite, but also the beautiful trees with their changing colours and the gorgeous Mount McKay in the background.

My friends are coming by tonight for Friday Night Scrapbooking :)
I was told to not put away my shopping goodies as the ladies will want to see them.
Which is fine, as I need to make room for everything anyway ;)

I hope you all have a Creative Friday :)

Scrappy Adventure…Last Day

As much as I love to go away on a trip….there is just something so comforting to come back home to family :)

Not much scrappiness going on today as we spent our day driving home.
So I thought I would share another coloured image I did from yesterday.
I coloured this one up with Sharon's coloured pencils and OMS :)
Isn't this Magnolia image so cute :)
Now to put my newly coloured images onto some cards.

There was quite a bit of construction on the way home.
But with a view of beautiful Lake Superior during our wait was a bit less irritating ;)

The Fall colours are coming out..so pretty.
It is such a beautiful drive with the gorgeous trees on one side of the highway and the refreshing lake on the other.

Thankful Thursday:
I am thankful to have such great friends to spend my time with and have lots of laughs.
I am thankful to be able to go on mini trips like this one.
I am thankful for such a beautiful country I live in.
I am thankful to come home to a family that missed me but was also excited to hear about my trip.

I hope you all have a creative Thursday :)

Scrappy Adventure....Day 3

Today was another fun crafty shopping day.
First stop…back to Pine City Scrapbooking :)
Look they have their own pattern paper with their store name on it..sooooo cool!!
These were my purchases from the first day we went to Pine City Scrapbooking on Monday.
I found a few fun Prima stamps and those stamps at the bottom "Great Impressions" so so cute :)
Now onto Todays goodies :)
I came across this fun Tim Holtz file book. They had one already put together in a Autumn theme, so cute. Plus it was under $5.00..bonus.
I just had to grab a couple of these fun Pine City Scrapbooking papers, I have many happy memories there and equally as many photos.
Nabbed this cute Pima Christmas stamp set.
You all know I couldn't pass up these zombie papers….how Awesome!!!!
I made a mini album of Ashley's "Night of the Living Dead" photo shoot, but haven't done any 12x12 pages…this paper is Perfect for that.
Here is the mini album I did, if you would like to check it out "Night of the Living Dead" mini album.
I just fell in love with this pretty paper by Bo Bunny called Primrose.
I had to get double sheets as both sides were equally beautiful.
I also picked up the sticker sheet and cutouts.
I figured out I might as well pick out some matching card stock and make a kit out of it all.
We then stopped off at the Walmart here.
Oh look, I found some more paper and washi tape ;)
Remember this is a non-judging blog ;)
Everyone kept telling us that we needed to get a cinnamon bun from Tobies.
I can not tell you how delicious these were.
I think I may pick up a few to share with the family when I get home ;)
When we got back to the hotel, we decided to head to the breakfast room/lobby and do some colouring.
The lighting in our room is terrible, as you can tell by my haul photos.
Everyone who walked by us, stopped to see what we were doing and ask questions :)
Sharon had always told me she would never colour as she doesn't enjoy it.
Well guess what….she is colouring now, teehee.
I have been telling her about coloured pencils and using Gamsol (orderless mineral spirits) to blend…..yes I am such a enabler, teehee.

Sharon picked up some inexpensive artist grade coloured pencils and a smaller container of OMS.
We couldn't find a cheap glass container for the OMS, so we went the dollar store and picked up a sponge. The only container that had a tight lid was a jar of artichokes, lol.
So Sharon put the artichokes in a foam coffee cup with a lid, washed out the glass jar and added the OMS :)
See we are creative all around, teehee.
Thought I would share a couple of images that I had coloured up today.
I was showing Sharon how to blend with the OMS with her coloured pencils. This is the image I coloured up…isn't this just so cute?!
I brought my Copics, so figured I had better use them, teehee.
I have never used this colour combination on jeans before, but I really like it.
I tried to make the balloon transparent….I think it worked.

I am now watching Survivor as Sharon is out at the Casino trying to win back some crafty shopping money, teehee.

I hope you all had a Creative Wednesday :)

Scrappy Adventure. Day 2

I'm like a kid at Christmas ;)
I had all my new crafty supplies surrounding me, so Sharon took a photo.
Is it sad that this makes me so happy ;)
Now don't look at those bags on the floor ;)
Those are home decorating supplies…and a couple of packages of cream horns ;)
One of the things we wanted to do on this trip was to check out Crafts Direct.
We have never been here, but I have read a some good things about it on 2peas.
It was about 1.5 hours from Hinckley, but so worth the drive :)
What I also loved about it (besides all the creative goodies inside) was the front of the building.
It looks like 7 adorable stores, where they are all one store once you enter the front doors :)
They had a lot of paper…and a lot of 6x6 paper pads.
The majority of these were under $4.00 each.
Don't judge me….I have a 6x6 addiction, but I don't have a problem ;)
I was so excited to see that they not only carried the Wink of Stella pens, but they also had clear :)
I am not an internet shopper, so have been waiting for the scrapbook stores, that I visit while on our trips, to have them. Every time I am here they are always sold out.
So excited to try them.
I picked up a clear and a red.
I found some more washi tape…again, no judging ;)
Also found some fun stamps :)
The cute witchy one to the top, I had seen at Pine City Scrapbookers yesterday, but didn't get it.
Was going to get it tomorrow (as Sharon and I are going back there) but with my luck it would have been gone.

On our way back from Crafts Direct, we stopped off at Jo-Anns.
I want to play around with chalk ink, so picked up a few colours.
I also grabbed this cool 3D sticker…thought I might do a zombie layout of when Ashley did some photography of them acting out Night of the Living Dead ;)
I did a mini album of that photo shoot, but not any scrapbook pages.
Also found me some peeps ;)
How long did it take me to finish off the whole package….weeellllll, under the time it took us to get back to the hotel.
Don't worry I didn't eat them all myself, Sharon got 1/2 of one ;)
Here is my haul from today :)
Here is Sharon's…such a light weight, lol
A kid on Christmas morning ;)
I think its a good thing that we don't live near these stores ;)

Onto My Day:
Besides crafty shopping, we went to the casino for supper.
Then Sharon wanted to gamble…it was all too much for me to lose my $3.00, so I walked around the casino to get in some steps.
Until I realized that I probably looks suspicious walking around the casino, so found Sharon at a machine.
We enjoyed another hot tub tonight.
Tomorrow we are planning another trip to Pine City…oh yah, I forgot to share those goodies with you from yesterday. I will do that tomorrow.
We are also planning to do a bit of colouring.

Proud Tuesday.
I am proud that I still have some money left over to shop with tomorrow ;)
I am proud that I still got over 10,000 steps, considering it seems like I haven't walked much.

I hope you all had a very Creative Tuesday :)
I can't wait to play with all my goodies.
I didn't even bring a trimmer or adhesive with me…..and I call myself a crafter, teehee.

Scrappy adventures Day 1

Here is my adventure for this week.
Sharon and I are headed to Hinckley for a few days, to do some scrapbooking shopping, do you a little creating at the hotel and for Sharon ... some gambling. Our first stop was Michael's, where I found a few goodies ;)
Yes...that's more washi tape. After I totally reorganized my washi tape drawers, teehee.
For someone who doesn't do project life I should buy enough of their products ;)

We then headed off to Hobby lobby for some more creative shopping.
I was planning on making a Halloween banner with the banners I bought from Michaels, but when I saw this one, and it was on sale and easy to put together Sharon suggested I just get it at 40% off.
I still get to put it together and make the rosettes, but less work then making it from scratch ;)
After all the hard work of shopping, we had to go for lunch. So we went for one of my favourites, a Coney burger in the mall.

We did some gambling.
I even gambled!!

I spent $3.00, I WON $29.75. That's almost a 300% profit.
More crafting supplies for me :)
We also went to Pine City Scrapbooking, but this post is getting pretty long with the photos and I don't know how well the Internet is here, so I will share that on another day :)

Hope you all had a creative Monday :)

Nice day for a Marathon

Wow, what a day today was.
I was so nervous and excited I could hardly believe it.
I must have been a bit anxious as well, because last night I kept having dreams that they wouldn't let me do the marathon as I didn't listen to the co-ordinators spiels, lol.

Here is my friend Debbie and I at my house before my honey drove us to the race.
We thought it would be crazy there, so figured it would just be easier for him to drop us off there.

Man it was chilly waiting for the marathon to start.
It was 8C (46F) it was also a bit windy….it was perfect once we started moving though.
The smiley lady in the front, is Debbie's sister Brenda. Brenda ran the whole 1/2 marathon!!!

And off we go…..

I had never thought I would do a marathon…let alone finish one.
Debbie and I came in second and third for our 1/2 walking marathon.
We wanted to start and finish the marathon at the same time.
So when we got to the finish line we put our arms around each other and walked on the finish mat at the exact same time :)
I was a bit teary eyed crossing the finish line…but I sucked it up ;)

I'm thinking we look pretty good here for just finishing our marathon :)
We even got a medal :)
We did 13.1 miles in 3 hours and 14 minutes :)
We were 2nd and 3rd overall in the walking category.
Best time we had ever walked during our training :)

Now how to scrapbook this milestone event

Thank you for all the encouraging words you have all left me :)
There were many spectators encouraging us all during the whole marathon.
It really helped keep everyones spirits up.
Really touched my heart.

I hope you all had a Creative Sunday.
Now for my next adventure, which starts tomorrow ;)
