Treat bag overload

Tonight was Friday Night Scrap booking. But instead of scrap booking or making cards, we all pitched in and helped (made) Ashley with her gifts she is giving to the people she works with.
So we made 12 treat bags. The colours aren't accurate on here. They really are prettier then this. But I am to tired to bring them back down and retake the picture. :)
Here is a tutorial I did on these Treat Bags
Then we wrapped 12 large chocolate bars and added the pattern paper strips. These are closer to the actual colour of the bags.
Well today seemed like one of those days that your list just doesn't get crossed off. I was going to get all my Christmas cards off into the mail. I was also going to mail my parcels off.

So last night Hubby printed off Ashley's college grad. photo's. That is the only thing I was waiting for. But..... I had to cut them out, then print out the info labels on the backs of Ashley, Heather and Kristy's pictures, then stick them on.
Stamp the sentiments in the cards (I had thought I did that already).
Sign the cards.
Then realized I needed a white pen as some of my paper was to dark for my black marker to work. So ran to the Scrap booking store to pick up that.
On the way home ran into Shoppers to pick up some more stamps.
Then had to print out the address labels for the envelopes.
Well now they are all finally ready to be put in the mail tomorrow morning.
Wow, no wonder I didn't get anything else done today, LOL.

I did pick up some toilet paper today. I woke up to half a roll this morning. Just think, 4 females and less then one roll of TP. Not a good situation.

I don't think I will be relaxing anytime soon.

Hope your weekend is a crafty and a relaxing one :)

Thankful Thursday

Today was a good day. It was a very good day.
Sharon, Heather and I went out shopping. Then we met Ashley for lunch.
Then we went to a local shop called "Twas the Month Before Christmas". I love that store. It is so warm and cozy and smells nice :) She used to only open the month before Christmas, hench the name. But now she is open most of the year. It is a local craft shop. The lady makes most of the crafts her self and she is a beautiful doll maker.
Ok so any way I got a gift card for her store on my 40th birthday...a few years ago, oops. I used it today and she told me that they were moving and changing there name after Christmas. So good thing I used it now.I read on Jan Marie's blog about her grandmother and a nest she found. She said that if you have a birds nest on your Christmas tree its suppose to give you luck for the new year. I loved this. Well it just happened to be that the craft store had one. I know its not a real bird's nest (we do have a real one with actual robyn's eggs in it but it is in a display case) but it will do. Isn't it pretty? It is even sparkly.
I also picked up this beautiful angel. I have had my eye on this for a while. But every time I think of getting it, I think that I can make it. Which I can ;) but I haven't yet, so I picked her up.

I am still not into the Christmas spirit yet. But going into that store sure helped. I think I need to go in there everyday, lol.

I met my girlfriend for hot chocolate tonight. I haven't seen her for awhile, it was good to get together. I'm surprised we didn't get kicked out, we were there for 2 hours. We shared tears, understanding and friendship.

Thankful Thursday:

1. Spending time with my girls
2. The joy of seeing other creative people and their works of art.
3. Listening and talking to a friend in need.
4. Knowing that we all have differences and that we can discuss them, and accept them.

So what are you thankful for today?

Gift card purses

Guess what we did today? You'd be right if you answered, shopping.
I think we are finally done now. I just have to get hubby a few things. I am going to go shopping with Sharon tomorrow. I will pick up a few stocking staffer's, because we know we can't leave every thing to Santa ;)

Talk about Stockings. Kristy and her friends exchanged gifts today. Her girlfriend gave Kristy a huge stocking. So our stocking prank continues.
When we were out today hubby found a 6' tall stocking. He so wanted to get it and put it with the others and then tell the girls that they had to fill it for him. Such a joker.I got in a bit of crafting today, Yeahhhh. Every year I make gift card holders. You can check them out on my YouTube channel Here. Well this year I found these ones. They are adorable. I changed it up a bit, I added ribbon for the handle as I liked it better. These have quite a bit of room inside. You could probably fit some treats in here as well.

Here is the first one I made. They called for paper handles. I didn't like them as much as they look funky. Plus my trimmer is dull, can you tell? I also did a manly gift card holder. I made these for father's day. I had one left over, but not completely finished. So I just added the insides and put the sentiment on it.
Here is the inside. There is even a place to hold money, like in a real wallet. I told my daughters I should put some fake money in it. Fake wallet....fake money, teehee.
So onto my day:

Shopped again. I was so tired today. When we came home I took 2 naps. I keep feeling like I am getting a cold and then the next day nothing. It has been like this for weeks now. I don't mind as long as I don't get a cold. That would suck, just at Christmas.

I was hopping to get my Christmas cards and parcels in the mail, but that didn't happen today. I have one more thing to get done and off they go. I don't know why but this year I am not stressing about it. That is so not like me. I stress about everything.

Hope everyone had a creative Wednesday, I did ;)

Shopped out....never

I am shopped out. LOL, just kidding.
I don't think that is possible.
So hubby was off again today and we did another Christmas shopping day. No breakfast brought home for me today. BUT we did go to Montana's for lunch. Yummy.

Today Ashley, and her boyfriend, Tyler are going to Ashley's Christmas staff dinner. It is at the Keg.
Isn't she beautiful. Tyler isn't half bad himself.

See, see she wore her new shoes :) I should have cropped this picture. Just focus on them, not the clutter on the right. Onto my day:
Shopped. Yup that's about it.
I picked up Kristy from school at the end of the day. Guess what we did. Yup shopped. LOL.
She had to pick up a few gifts for her friends. They are exchanging gifts tomorrow after school.

Cute story: When Kristy handed in her poem book I helped her bind. The teacher was very impressed with it. She thought Kristy bought it. When Kristy told her that her mom did it, the teacher was shocked. She asked Kristy "Does you mom have a machine that does this"?
Kristy replied, "Oh ya, she has many". LOL.

So what have you done today to make you feel proud?
1. Almost done my Christmas shopping.
2. Didn't eat my fries at lunch...actually I was full, it wasn't really a health decision :)
3. Didn't smother hubby during the night because of his snoring.

Your turn :)
Again no creative time was had ;(

Christmas collage and mini stockings.

Monday already?! What happened to the weekend?
Hubby took today and the next couple of days off so we could do some Christmas shopping. Who am I kidding, to do all of our Christmas shopping.

So I haven't been able to get in my scrap/craft room so I will share a project that I did last Christmas.
It is similar to my Halloween Collage. But its a Christmas Collage.
This is a perfect project to justify purchasing all those $1.50 stamps from Michael's.
In the center of the collage I used one stamp. This stamp is so beautiful I couldn't just use one section.
While hubby and I were out shopping, he found these cute little stockings. They are actually for gift cards. So hubby thought it would be funny to switch the girls regular stockings with these teeny tiny ones.
I doubled over with laughter at the thought.
When we got home I put their names on with a black Sharpie and replaced their stockings with these.
Notice hubby's and mine are hanging on either side.
It took them a while to notice. Wayne even turned on the overhead light so they could see them better. We didn't want to leave the house until they saw them.
Kristy was the 1st to notice. "What the heck is this" she shrieked as she held up the tiny stocking.
Ashley was sitting beside me on the couch. Laughing, she asked Kristy "Is that yours"?
"No, its yours", was her reply.
Ashley gets up walks over to Kristy and yells " What the ...."Maybe its a "You have to be there" kind of moment, but it was hilarious. Ya we are mean like that. LOL.

So my day was spent shopping with hubby, two of my favourite things :)
Hubby drove Kristy to school and then brought my McD's home for breakfast. A McGriddle.
Today was a funny day. All day my family kept saying things that really had me laughing out loud. I wish I could share them, but we have an odd sense of humour, and I don't want you thinking that I'm a nut bar. Oh, do I hear you say that you already do? teehee.

Hope you had a creative Monday.

Tracy.

The Tree is up

Today we (and when I say "we", what I mean is "me") put up our Christmas tree.
Don't you hate putting the lights on the tree? I do and I am the one that does it every year. So what I did a couple years ago, when all those trees came out with the lights already attached, was attach my lights to the tree.
I used those small zip ties to attach my string of lights to the branches. Our tree is in two pieces. so I have a small set of lights on the top and a large set on the bottom. So when I take apart the tree the lights are apart in that section as well. This is only a 6.5 ' tree and there are over 400 mini lights on it, lol.
The tree skirt is folded in this picture and its bugging me. But I am going to let it go and not retake the picture. Ya I have a problem, teehee.

I was so upset as I broke an ornament today. My hubby's :( Last year I made us all an ornament that I painted with alcohol inks and put on each of our initials. Hubby's went flying across the room and smashed. I was so upset. Hormones, LOL. My daughters gave me a hug (as they were trying not to laugh) and said "Its OK mom... you can make another one, its OK". Now that I think back it was funny.
Man, I love my girls.

Later on my sister Julia and my niece Amanda came by. We have 2 Christmas trees, and my sister didn't have one, so I gave her my downstairs tree for this year.
Here is Amanda, this girl loves to be the center of attention, and will do anything for it. Nice hair little girl.
Oh I got to craft today. Well if helping your daughter with her homework is considered a craft, then I guess you can call this crafty. She had to write 10 poems with Lord of the Flies in mind, and then bind them.
I think this is a neat idea, but I feel for the kids that don't have the supplies to do this. I know there are many other ways to bind a book, but if you don't know of any, then its not fair to the other kids. I hope the teacher marks more on the contents then the looks.
So that was my whole day.
I really haven't felt in the Christmas spirit yet this year. Even with the Festive cards and crafts I have been doing I still haven't felt Christmasy. But putting up some of the decor around the house, and listening to Christmas music, I want to create a lot of Christmas Crafts.
I want to make a festive banner. A new swag above the closet door. My Santa wall hanging quilt. The list goes on.
Oh speaking of lists I just made my Christmas list tonight.... finally. I was sad when I realized that the spot left for my dad, didn't get filled in.
Hope you got some creative time in this weekend.

Medallions and Lords.

Today was a movie marathon day. Its cold outside so a perfect day to stay inside.
We did the zombies marathon and the vampire marathon. So today it was either Harry Potter or The Lord of the Rings. I have only watched Lord of the Rings once, so that was the choice.

So during our Lord of the Rings marathon I brought up some crafty fun, found a tiny lamp spot lamp (as Heather likes to watch TV in the dark) and made some medallions. I have a YouTube tutorial on my channel here .
I really like how these ones turned out.
They are made with Kraft card stock. You know I didn't like Kraft coloured paper. But I really like these and the ticket's made with this paper.
Then I got a little festive and got out my Christmas scraps and made some Christmas ones. These ones I cut at 1.5" x 12" (I only used 1 strip, not 2) then cut with a border punch. I then scored every 1/4".
I didn't use a border punch on this one.
I don't know what the heck happened with these ones. They are a little wickity wack, LOL. I think I put them down before the glue dried. Well thats my story and I'm stickn' to it.
So for my giveaway last week, only one lady sent me her address. I did contact all the winners via their blog or YouTube channel. But they haven't got back to me. Being this time of year I only really want to go to the post office once :)
So I haven't mailed them out yet. But then again that gave me more time to add to it. I think I will add some of these to the package. I better get these out soon, the longer they are here the more I add to it. And I need to get other projects completed, teehee.

So I had a good day today. Creating, TV and computer. A perfect Saturday.
Hope yours was just as enjoyable.
