Fauxbonichi Daily Set Up

Not only have I been getting requests to share my monthly layout in my Fauxbonichi, but I have been getting even more requests to share my daily layout.
Now don't those pages look like they are yearning to have some memories written in them….nothing like a crisp decorated page :)

I did a video on my spacing of my header and art block, and how I decorate my pages.
If you would rather watch my video on my YouTube channel, just click the link "Tracy's Treasures24".
Onto my day…weekend ;)
I had my daughters and their boyfriends over for a turkey dinner on Saturday…that in itself is a story, oh my.
We played a few games after dinner, we all had a wonderful time.

On Sunday we did a little (Easter cream) egg hunt for Heather and Kristy…you are never too old for an egg hunt.
My day was going to be replying to all of my comments on here and my YouTube channel, catching up on my YouTube watching and checking out blogs.
Sadly we lost our internet.
I tried to go on my phone, but I was starting to get a headache…I have no idea how so many can live on their phones for everything…I sure couldn't.
Turned out our modem was really old (the tech support guy was a bit shocked we still had it), but the problem was our router had probably quit working.
Being it was Easter Sunday all of the stores were closed for the holiday (which I love…I love that the stores close so families can be together for the holidays)

So I went to our internet provider and picked up a router/modem all in one today.
Heather and I (along with the tech support dude) got us back on-line.
I know I am addicted to the computer, but wow….I kept checking and re-checking my laptop to see if it had miraculously came back on-line, lol.

I had mentioned to Heather that my Macbook Pro laptop is getting to be pretty slow.
She checked it out for me and came to find out, that my space is almost all used up…oops.
I very rarely delete or back up anything.
Guess I need to pull out my external hard-drive (which I have never used, and it is a few years old) and start saving files (mostly videos) and defunkifying my laptop ;)

How often do you back up your files and photos?

I hope you all have a very Creative Day today :)

March Fauxbonichi Flip

I thought I would be more on the ball this month, and share my flip right away :)
Look at all of those Red hearts..those are my 10,000 steps a day :)
If you look closely, on the 25th I got over 20,000 steps in…..go me!
But then again I did drink over my quota of pop on the last weekend as well…oops.

Here is my video with the full flip for the whole month.
I was asked to share more of my daily life in my flips, but it sure made for a long video.
But it even made for a longer YouTube upload.
For a 1/2 hour video, it took over 7 hours to upload!!!

I hope you all have a very Creative Day :)

To Art Block, or Not to Art Block…that is the question.

As much as I love to journal in my Fauxbonichi, I may need to change up my layout.
As you can see, I either need a bigger "Art Block", or don't have one at all.
So what I think I may do is add the Art block as I do each day instead of at the beginning of the month. This way I can make it whichever size I need.
If I have a lot to write about, then the art blocks are perfect.
But if I don't have a lot to write, I would rather use a big stamp, like these, to take up more room on my page.

These stamps are from Unity Stamps and the sentiments that come with them, are geared towards Friends..
But when I look at these stamps they make me think of sisters.
The one with the 3 girls remind me of my 3 daughters and the one on the right reminds me of my sister and I.
Either way I adore these stamps.
Now to colour them up and write about my day :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Tuesday :)

Fauxbonichi Flip for January 2015

It is time to share my Fauxbonichi pages for the month of January :)

So here is the video I made….hope you enjoy :)
If you would rather watch the video on my YouTube channel for the full screen, just click the link "Tracy's Treasures24"

Onto My Day:
Today was a busy day.
For starters I had to be in 2 places at the same time…I know I'm flexible, but this was impossible.
I made plans to go with Ashley for her dress fitting, plus I had to drive Kristy to work at that time.
Luckily Heather didn't have to work today, so Heather drove Kristy and Ashley came to pick me up.

Kristy only worked till 3:00, then we were going to the movies at 3:15.
Good thing we can get anywhere in this town in 15 minutes or less ;)
Because we were rushed to get into the show…we love to watch the previews…I totally forgot to take our photo in front of the movie sign.
When I told Kristy this, she didn't seem to disappointed ;)

I hope you all had a very Creative Wednesday :)

Fauxbonichi pages for Jan 17th & 18th.

Here are some pages in my Fauxbonichi.
If you are unfamiliar with a Fauxbonichi, you can check on my blog post, it even has a video ;)

I am using my Fauxbonichi as a journal…or a diary, to document mine and my family's life.
For this page, I had some artistic fun :)
I used these adorable stamps from Unity, designed by Angie Blom.
I then coloured the images up with my Copic markers and then used a snowflake stencil to add some colour and interest to the background :)

I just love these stamps :)
This stamp is called "Christine Girl"
I did my writing on the space to the left of the girl.
Nothing much happened that day, so I didn't need much room.

This sweet image is called "Charlee Girl"
Again nothing much happened this day, so I wrote a memory I had of when I loved to skate as a young girl. I thought it was fitting for this stamped image.
The sentiment I used here was from a Fiskars memory stamp set.

Here are my pages :)
I really like how these ones turned out.
I love the decorative tape I used on the top and bottom of these pages.
Reminds me of a winter sweater :)

As much as I love these pages, not all of my Fauxbonichi pages are going to be so detailed or artistic :)
But these pages are some of my favourites ;)

I hope you enjoyed seeing my Fauxbonichi pages, and I hope you all had a very Creative Wednesday :)

Colouring in my Fauxbonichi

I coloured a bit in my fauxbonichi today :)
I have kept up with writing daily in my journal…but haven't kept up with my art block.
That is what I will call this block, that I use for stamps, drawing, photos or just sentiments.

I used one of my new stamps, that I had purchased from Unity stamps, and then coloured her in with my Copic markers.
I then used Stampin' Up markers as a water colour for the background.
If you can see, the marker I used bled when the water was added.
I knew it would react this way, but I couldn't help myself, I wanted to get the colour as close to the line as I could :)

It was pretty mild outside today, mind you it has snowed all day.
But it was a perfect day for me to stay inside ;)
Wayne ran out for a bit, but then set up his video games and played the rest of the day…I think it will be another video gaming and creating weekend…
Perfect weekend for me :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Saturday :)

The Faces in my Fauxbonichi

Today was a bit of a surprise…but before we get to that, I will share with you a page, or I guess a drawing, I did in my Fauxbonichi.
If you have checked out my Fauxbonichi then you know that I am leaving a block for stamping, colouring, drawing, photos or whatever I feel I want to add for that day :)

When I first started with this book, I was going to have this blocked out area, to house  something that happened in that day.
But why limit myself ;)
So I have been drawing my little characters in these blocks instead :)
I need to get a Memento pen (this is just drawn with pencil) so I can also use my Copic markers to colour with.
I like how she turned out….but need to finish her.

Now to the bit of a surprise to my day:
Wayne had a doctors appointment this morning. As he was getting ready to go, he asked me if I needed him to pick up something from the grocery store.
I was still in bed and a bit confused.
I told him that I have to drive Kristy to work in the afternoon, so if I need something I would pick it up then.
It was his turn to be surprised as he told me would both bring Kristy to work.
Then I realized and asked him "You took the whole day off of work"
Yes he did, lol.

So we ended up watching Wayne's favourite show which is "Band of Brothers" which takes all day.
I spent the whole day catching up on emails…wow, it took me all day to attend to them.

When Wayne takes a day off of work, I spend the whole day with him. So no house cleaning, no personal time (I guess replying to emails could be viewed as personal) and no creative time.
I was going to work on my Art Journal page today.
But I have to say, spending time with my Honey watching tv and enjoying some deep fried pickles was  a pretty great day :)

I hope you all had a great day and a Creative one at that :)

Fauxbonichi: New month New Year :)

Remember my "Fauxbonichi" from the other day?
I am finished with that journal and started my new one.
I have seen so many using this grid journal made by Miquelrius from Barns and Noble.
I picked 2 up on our last trip.

Well today being the first of the month, I got to work on mine.
Believe me when I tell you how much I was over thinking this, lol.
This book has 300 pages (yes I counted them), so that means 600 sides.
But I like to washi tape 2 pages together, so that equals 150 pages, or 300 sides.
Which also means not enough for the full year…plus my monthly calendar pages.
I really don't need a calendar page…but I want one, teehee.
So after hours of over-thinking and whining to my friends, I think I may have figured it out :)
I am going to adhere my pages together with the washi tape, but for some months I will put pattern paper on one side (as I don't really care for bleed through and don't like to worry about which markers I can use) I will also add washi tape to the edges of those pages so they all look cohesive from the edge.

Now that wasn't my only problem…
I had to figure out the spacing for the blocks, as this is a different size than my Moleskine journal.
After I was happy with the spacing of the blocks and added my (overpriced) week day stickers, I grabbed a calendar to get the numbers on the blocks correctly.
Well look at this….Yup, I got distracted and just started add the Heidi Swapp rub-on numbers.
Now these suckers are here to stay.
I tried to scrape them off with the tip of my scissors…nope they are stuck good.
But how to fix them?

There is a blank page in the front of this book.
I added some personal information, so if anyone finds this in 200 years they will know who's journal this was ;)
On the back side of that page I added some pattern paper and this quote I printed up.
I love this statement.
It had 2014 for the year, but I just covered it up and used my label maker to write out this year :)

Now lets take a closer look at these over-priced stickers I purchased at Typo.
I think they do work perfectly for this space though ;)

I just used my stamps for the Date at the top.
See how I corrected my rub-on error.
I used another set of rub-ons and adhered them to some snowflakes on some pattern paper.
I then punched out the snowflakes with my Martha Stewart snowflake corner punch.
I really like how they look :)
A mistake isn't always a mistake, it is just a way to be more creative ;)

I have done a bit more stamping on my days, but I will share that on a video come month end.
I will also add my goals to the left of the page :)

Are you keeping a journal this year?
I have really enjoyed writing in my Fauxbonichi these last 2 months.

I hope you all had a very Creative 1st day of the year :)
I did, I have all my supplies scattered around me and on the couch to prove it, teehee.

My Fauxbonichi

I am finally ready to share my new way of journaling :)
There is a Japanese way of planning or journaling called Hobonichi.
In order to purchase one of these planners, you need to order it from Japan.
But there are many clever and creative people on YouTube who have come up with a way to do this type of journaling by creating your own journal/planner.
And wait for it…they call it a Fauxbonichi…..how clever :)

One of the main components of this type of journal is to use a journal with grid paper.
Another component is to have a header.
Lets start with the grid paper.
I was gifted this journal a couple of years ago and thought it would be perfect, as I wanted do a trial run.
It is a Moleskine grid journal.
Some of the pages were removed, but I still got 2 months in here to try it out.
See the washi tape on the edges?
I taped two pages together as I was tired of trying to figure out which pens or markers wouldn't bleed through.

The header usually has the date, month, day of the week and the moon phase.
I didn't put in the moon phase because 1, the moon phase doesn't really interest me, and 2 I know if I didn't keep up with the moon phases, I wouldn't journal, as I would feel the need to have that part documented before journaling.
I may add the weather or temperature or my steps I took for that day…not exactly sure.
Plus now that my trial journal is almost complete…I can use the journal that most of the Fauxbonichi people have been using.
I am a bit nervous for using the new journal as it is smaller than the one I am using now. I have big primary writing, so we will see how it goes.

I have always journaled and share a few of them in my video.
Thats right, I made a video for your pleasure ;)
If you would rather watch my video on my YouTube channel, click on the link "Tracy's Treasures"
I am really enjoying this journal.
Most not only journal but also draw about their day.
Me, I tried the drawing, I am more into using stamps and photos :)
There is so much more I could share about this journal, but my video explains so much more.

I hope you all had a Creative Tuesday :)

Tracy :)
