Taking a Break from Defunkifying….Time to Clean

I need to take a bit of a break from Defunkifying my room.
As much as I am loving how it is coming together….I needed to clean it up a bit.
It was getting a bit dangerous in there…plus I seem to make an even bigger mess as I organize…odd, I know, but that is how I roll, l

Whenever I need to do a good room tidy, I always start with my desk.
I do this for a few of reasons..
1. It is the biggest area I seem to pile things on.
2. It gives the biggest impact when looking at it.
3. Where else would I put the floor stuff I need to tidy up, if not on the desk ;)

There, now doesn't that look a lot better…..maybe don't look under my desk anytime soon though;)
Just kidding, I cleaned under there as well.
I did a short video on this.
If you have noticed, I have been documenting this whole Defunkifying my Craft room, on both my blog here and my YouTube channel.
If you would rather watch this video on my YouTube channel, just click on the link "Tracy's Treasures24"

I am hoping to complete my room before summer and cottage weather hits us :)
Because once summer is here…that is it for staying inside :)

I hope you all have a very creative Day :)

Not another Messy Room Tour?!?!

Yup, another messy room tour.
The difference with this one, is there is no after photos.
The reason….I am going in deep and dirty.

I did a video about a year and a half ago with my messy room and then a few areas that I organized.
And honestly those couple areas are still working for me :)
But as you can see, my room has gone to cr@p again.
I think I need to do a few things differently this time and that is to totally go through EVERYTHING.
So that my friends is why there are no after pictures at the moment…no quick fixes in order for me to get it defunkified once and for all.

This is under my work table/desk.
Yup, I just hide things under there, lol.
In order for my room to work for me, I have to figure out how I operate.
For example:
I am a flipper. I like to flip through my supplies not dig through them.
I am also a piler. If there is a flat surface (even if there are things already there) I will keep piling on stuff until they topple over.
So those are 2 things I have to keep in mind when going through my room.

I am making it a bit easier on myself and following a couple of challenges.
The Wookiemouse challenge…I had done her challenge many years ago, when 2Peas was still active. This really got my room together…before I accumulated so many more supplies.
The second challenge is 52 Week Workspace Challenge. I think this challenge is based on the Wookiemouse challenge, but with worksheets and printouts :)

If you want to scare yourself, you can check out my "Messy Room Video take 2" :)
If you want to check out my1st Messy Room Tour from over a year ago…you can check out this video here "Messy Room Tour..Defunkifying my Craft room"

Here are the challenges I am going to be following :)

I hope you all have a very Creative Day :)

From Trashed…….to less trashed?!

From Trashed…..
Seriously this is crazy.
I even had stuff pilled on my chair.
You may ask…"How do you even create in there"?
My answer would be "I don't".
Now that the pool table is altered to my craft table, I mostly craft on there…or upstairs in the living room, or the dinning room….no wonder I can never find anything….but on the good side I get my steps in looking for stuff, teehee.

I did tidy it up.
I was going to label this photo "To treasure"
But honestly….it is still trashed…..just not as much ;)

I couldn't believe it has been close to a year when I said I was going to totally defunkify and reorganize my room…but as you can see by the containers under my table, that that didn't happen.

I did reorganize my handmade cards today….boy I hoard those babies.

I hope you all have a creative day today.
Having some of my friends over for my Friday Night Scrapbooking…those will be coming to an end soon, as the weather is getting nicer and the cottage is calling my name.

Clean Desk…and room :) WOYWW

Today I spent a lot of my time in my craft room.
Unfortunately I wasn't creating.
I was cleaning, and boy did it need it.
But honestly, I love cleaning and organizing my supplies.
Sometimes I think I make a huge mess, just so I can clean it up and organize it again.
Maybe that is why my house is a mess, lol.

I had mentioned yesterday, that I have trouble getting rid of the most useless stuff.
Just take a look at the packaging.
I have no idea how long I have held onto this because the shape is so fun :)
I kept telling myself that I can make something of this.
And I still believe I can…..but after a couple of years of holding onto it, I threw it out.
Hmmmm, do you think I should fish it out of the recycles?

Because I worked so hard on tidying up my room, I thought I will share my post on the Stamping Ground's "What's on your Workdesk, Wednesday"
So many great creative work areas on her blog today :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Wednesday :)

Last Day in Lynne's Craft Room

Today was a very productive day in Lynne's craft room.
I arrived at 11:30am and left after 4:00pm.
Doesn't Lynne look so happy in her room with her bowl of tea ;)
Yes, I said bowl as that is how huge her cup is, lol.

Mind you she didn't look that relaxed earlier in the day as we were purging and sorting, lol.
As you can tell, she is a bit tangled in her ribbon ;)

If you could tell by the last posts of Lynne's room, it is an unfinished room. So it was real easy to add the two huge pegboards she had to the studs :)
No need to make a frame behind it, and you could easily see where the studs were…easy peasy.
Even though Lynne and her mom were so impressed that I could use a drill, lol.
If they only knew of the tools I use, teehee.

Here is just a few of the things Lynne is donating :)
Most of it wasn't even scrapbook related.

Look at that wall of pegboard, she is going to enjoy filling that up with supplies :)
We changed up the stand where her Big Shot was on.
I like the dresser better, as it has a bigger work surface and the drawers are perfect for storing more supplies.

I think we did a pretty good job of getting her room in order :)
I wanted to create so badly sitting at her desk when we were all done.
I think the next time I am there is will be for some creating :)

If you want to check out the early stages of Lynne's room here are the links :)

Day 2 in Lynne's Craft Room.

Working on Lynne's room again today.
Lynne got a head start on me as I had to wait around home for my replacement dinning table to be delivered.
Then I had to run and get some groceries.
When I got to Lynne's, she already had her Big Shot, embossing folders and dies all organized.
See everything is all together :)

We also added some of her "Projects in Progress" bins in the bookcase below.
These may be moved…but so far, they are fine where they are.
As you can see the wall of this room isn't finished.
Which is fine as it is easier to see the studs (and wires) when I attach her giant peg boards.

We decided to get into the paper today :)
Here is some card stock that needed to be put in her paper files (I shared that in Yesterday's post)
There are some scraps in this pile as well.

Above the card stock file drawer, she has this narrow drawer that is perfect for strips of paper and enough room at the back for scraps :)
It is the top right drawer of her desk, so she can get into the habit of reaching for scraps before cutting into a brand new sheet of card stock.

Lynne stores her pattern paper in this large book case  below her stamps.
It doesn't look that bad, but we tweaked it.

Lynne already had her wooden stamps all nice and organized.
Like I mentioned in yesterday's post, Lynne was a Stampin' Up demonstrator, so her stamps had to be organized and ready for the next class.
If you look closely you can see that she had them all in alphabetical order….she is as anal as I am, teehee.

Here is that large bookcase totally organized.
We went through every single piece of pattern paper she owned and she is giving a nice amount to a young crafty girl she knows.  I'll tell you, she is going to make that young lady very happy :)
We organized her paper by colour, seasonal/themed paper in its own container.
As you can see, in the thin white storage case to the right of the book case is where Lynne is storing her red rubber stamps and some idea books.

We are taking a break tomorrow as Lynne is busy.
I'm thinking it is time for me to either take care of my craft room, or make a few projects…..hmmm, I wonder which will win out ;)
I did actually come home from Lynne's today and did a bit of organizing in my own room, so maybe tomorrow will be dedicated to creating ;)

I hope you all had a creative Tuesday :)
