Happy Birthday File Folder Card

This weekend it is my FIL's wife, Joy's birthday.
I wanted to make her a card, but not only ran out of time, I have quite a few cards I could have choose from ;)
So I combined the idea.
I made a card back in my "January Card Challenge" and the first go around didn't work with the image I wanted to use.
But I didn't want to trash the card as it was still good.
So I revamped it to work for Joy's birthday card :)
All I really did was add these butterflies to each end of the banners and stamped her name.

I have a few flowers left outside :)
We had frost this morning, so I better enjoy them while they last.
Wayne and I are off to the cottage to totally close down for the season :(
It is suppose to rain this Sunday, so that should be fun…mind you, I think it usually does rain when we close down.

Hope you all had a Creative Friday :)

Too much Silver?

Here is the second file folder card I made.
I love how it turned out.
I love the blue and silver paper.
I forgot to share with you where I found the tutorials for them.
I took 2 tutorials and combined them :)
Dawns Stampin' Thoughts and My Chic"n Scratch
I love these Stampin' Up ladies, they have such great projects.

Here is another very dimensional snowflakes.
I used Tim Holtz snowflake die as well as the white sparkly snowflake and a snowflake brad.

I had a couple of questions about these file folder cards.
Becky's question was, are the sides sealed?
The ribbon goes all around the card and that is what holds the card in place, so it can either stay in the card, or it can slide out :)
You could also add washi tape to the edges if you want.
In Angie's video she attached the card to the inside. To read it, it would just flip open the folder.

Tip: I used one of Becky Higgins grid cards for the inside of the card. The envelope pouch board's corner rounder is an exact match to the grid cards rounded edges.

We received a bit of snow today. I love when it snows.
I don't like to shovel it, but I love to watch it from the inside of my home ;)
I didn't get to stay inside though, I had some running around to do.
The roads were really slippery. I have a 4x4 so driving wasn't bad for me, but I did see quite a bit of cars slipping' and sliding.
I love the silver colour in the sky and in the snow on the trees.

Talk about silver.
As much as I love the colour during this time of the year….I don't like it in my hair ;)
So one of my stops was to the hair salon to cover up the silver ;)

Day 16 of Canadian Scrapbookers photo challenge.
"Santa"
This Santa is from Mall of America.
I took a photo of the Santa at our mall her in my city today, but the photo turned out blurry. I was a bit sad, as our Santa was smiling at me as he knew I snuck his photo :)

I didn't get my photo for Heidi Swapps photo challenge as it was Nativity. I don't have a nativity scene, so I will have to come up with something else, or skip this one.

I hope you all had a great creative Monday :)

File Folder Card

Today was an excellent day!!
For one, I didn't have to leave the house :)
I created all day.
Wayne and I watched the Mentalist all day.
Plus Wayne made supper, so I didn't have to cook.
See, told you it was an excellent day :)

I saw a couple of tutorials on YouTube from a couple of my Stampin Up ladies I follow.
I merged the tutorials (as they were pretty similar) and made a couple of file folder cards with my envelope punch board.

I used one of the Snowflake Rosettes that I had made yesterday.

I put a file inside for the message.
I love this pattern paper as it has lines on it, and I need my lines.
I stamped the sentiment and the tree with some $1.00 stamps. I really do get a lot of use out of those cheapy stamps.
I made a few more projects, but I will save those for another day ;)
I even got to colour in an image :)

Day 15 of Heidi Swapp's challenge.
"Sparkle"
I love looking at our Christmas tree.
I love turning off all of the house lights and just sit in front of the tree and enjoy the lights and how they sparkle off of the glittery Christmas baubles.
It is just so calming to me.

Day 15 of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine's photo challenge.
"Nice"
Took this photo from my photo for Heidi's "naughty/nice" challenge.
I just cropped it.

Tonight is the finale of Survivor.
So you know what I'll be doing tonight ;)

I hope you all had a very creative Sunday :)
