Day 1 of Crafty Shopping

Wayne and I decided to go on a little get away to Duluth MN at the spur of the moment :)
So I picked up some American money, printed off some Michael's, Hobby Lobby and Joanns coupons and off we went :)
My main goal was to find a Brother Scan & Cut mat.
I was gifted a Brother Scan & Cut machine but I couldn't get it to scan an image...it would only cut the shapes that were programmed into the machine.
After weeks of asking questions on different forums, we all came to the conclusion that the mat I had (12x24) would not scan...the older machines couldn't scan on that size mat.

So our first stop once we got to Duluth, was Michael's.
I had read that some Michael's stores carry this product....but nope:(
But I did pick up this dotted journal as I heard it takes different types of mediums and I want to get back into my daily journaling and was hoping I could use this as my fauxbonichi in the new year.
I also picked up an R89 Copic marker, as when I used mine, the tip was dried up.
I changed the tip, but it was empty....I know I could purchase a refill, but I would need to order it and I plan on doing some colouring for Christmas tags and I need this colour :)

Next stop was Hobby Lobby.
I was so hoping I would find the Brother Scan & Cut mat here.
Sadly another disappointment :(
But I did find some stickers in the clearance area.
Yes that is all that I had found here....but my focus was on getting this mat, so I wasn't really looking for anything other then the mat...I was a bit obsessed.

Last crafty store was JoAnns.
Every store had a type of Cricut, but no Brothers!!!
I found this small hexagon punch I was looking for, but not Scan & Cut.
As I was paying for the punch I look behind the teller and in the locked cage what do I see....A Brother Scan N Cut machine....my heart starts to beat a little faster.
I ask the teller if they have the mats for the machine...which she responds "We don't carry anything by Brother"...huh?
I tell her it is behind her in the cage.
She then phones someone and then informs me it is in the sewing area!!!
I can not tell you how happy I was when I saw them there!!!!
Mission completed!

Wayne has a few stores he likes to check out when we come here.
There isn't a Cabela"s here and now there is no longer a Gander Mountain, so we went to Menards.
I seem to always find something there as well.
I saw this Family frame...isn't so sweet.

I always have work gloves in my jeep, but these ones are insulated, so they will keep my fingers warm this winter and they are just so pretty :)

I ran into the Dollar Tree to look for some books I might like.
I didn't find any books, but I picked up these cute dimensional stickers for some little kid cards as well as this calendar.
I have this exact one for myself, then my daughter Ashley commented on how much she liked it, so I picked her up this one.

Then it was time for dinner.
We always go to Red Lobster and I always get the Shrimp Trio.
But the last few times, the pasta was either crispy, the sauce in the pasta was watery and one time my shrimp was raw.
So I decided to change it up.
I love shrimp, but not a fan of most other types of sea food.
But Wayne convinced me to get this dish.
I loved the shrimp, the garlic potatoes and I kind of liked the lobster.
I didn't love the crab...I had a bit of it, but gave the rest to Wayne.

Before coming back to the hotel, we stopped off at Target to pick up some pop (soda for you Southerners, teehee).
You all know you can't go into Target without looking through their dollar spot area.
I picked up these wood pieces...I couldn't make them for the prices they were selling them at.

I also picked up this fun music note banner.
I think I may need to pick up another one if I want to decorate it up with a festive word.
I also picked up these gift tags....I love the ones with the wooden snowflakes.

That is the end of my shopping for today.
Tomorrow will be more fun for me as I won't be on a mission to find that mat, lol.

I hope you all have a very Creative day :)

Shopping Trip Haul

Sorry I have been absent...but I've been cuddling the cutest baby boy I have ever seen ;)

So with that, I will share with you my crafty purchases from the 1st day on my little snowy trip.
1st stop Hobby Lobby (well first fun stop as I don't consider Gander Mnt or Menards my top crafty shops ;)
Wayne convinced me I needed a brayer...even though he didn't know what it was used for.
He just liked the name as my maiden name is Bray, lol.

Then Barnes and Nobel...I love books and note books.
I have these ones already....but one can not have to many cute inspiring note books ;)

Then we were off to Michaels...where by the way I lost the heel of my boot, lol.
Lots of planner goodies for my new planners :)
One planner I ordered at Crop & Create from Scrapbook & Cards Today.
The second planner I picked up from Michaels a couple of weeks ago with a 50% off coupon...it is the new Recollections planner they hacked from Erin Condren.
Not only did I give Wayne a 50% off coupon, but the teller at Michaels and I were talking and she had been to my city before, so she let me use a second 50% off coupon :)

I always stop off at the Dollar Tree when we go over the border to the US.
Here are my purchases from there.

Last stop of the evening was to Target.
No more Targets here in Canada, so it is always fun to shop there.
Here are the dollar spot items I picked up.
I love the plaid washi and the Do Not Open washi to cute :)

I may have gone a bit crazy on baby clothes and items.
How cute is that plaid hat!!!
It will match the plaid bush jacket I bought him when I went with Sharon.

Are you surprised as I am that I didn't purchase any paper!!!
I will share with you Day 2 of my crafty goodies in another post :)

I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Scrapbook Cottage Haul at Crop & Create.

I was planning on doing a week of Crop & Create...then my daughter had her son...my first grandbaby, so that went out the window, lol.
I had did the videos, but never got around to editing and uploading them to my Youtube channel.
I was a bit busy loving my adorable 1st grand baby :)

Well last night I made time to do the editing and uploading.
This is the goodies I purchased from the vender Scrapbook Cottage that was at the Crop & Create event put on by Scrapbook & Cards Today.
I love those wood veneer hearts <3 p="">

Here are the papers I picked up.
Look at that beautiful 6x6 paper pad...I wonder how long I will hoard it before I use it, lol.
When my friend (who also is a new grandma) saw this grandma and grandpa paper packs, we HAD to pick them up ;)

Here is the video I finally put up with closer details on what I purchased :)
To watch it on my YouTube channel, just click on my name :)  "Tracy's Treasures24"

This is the little cutie that has been taking up my time....I just can't get enough of him!!!!
But seriously who wouldn't want to hold this little cutie every second you can :)

I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Its a Haul Post.

Okay, are you ready for this.....my shopping from our 5 day adventure.
I know we were celebrating Wayne's birthday and our 28th Wedding Anniversary....but you know, we love to shop when we go away.
We stayed in Tofte at the Bluefin Resort, but also drove to Duluth a couple of times.
So here we go!!!!!!!

1st stop was Michaels.
We do have a Michael's here in town, but their prices here are over priced...plus everything I bought here was on sale!!!
I did use my 40% off coupon on one of the stamps though ;)

Then off to Dollar Tree :)
One thing I love about Dollar Tree in the US, is that everything really is a dollar.
Our dollar store, Dollarama, not everything is a dollar..you have to keep your eye out, as many products are way more than a dollar.

We also traveled across the bridge to Superior, where there was another Dollar Tree :)
Isn't that little purse/tote cute!!!
I really don't need another tote, but this is a nice size to just carry a book or my journal and a pen around when I will have to wait somewhere...plus it is so cute :)

Hobby Lobby haul :)
I know, I know, I don't need any more paper.
I will never use up all of the paper I have, no matter how long I live......but with all of these paper companies closing down, I think I need to stock pile a little bit more, teehee.

I do like my dies...I don't use them nearly as much as I should...but I do like them ;)
Wayne convinced me that I needed this match box die.
I know how to make one without the die, but this will be easier, when I ever do decide to use it.

At the last minute I remembered I wanted to check and see if there was a set of coloured pencils in some skin tone colours, because the 75 set I have, does not have any good flesh colours.
I did notice that they had a flesh tone in the water colour pencils as well :)
I had to really look at the price as some of the same exact coloured pencils were a dollar more.
I think they were new stock and the price increase was applied, but I bought all of these for the cheaper price :)
I needed a treat...we can't forget to fuel our bodies as we shop ;)

Now on to Target.
We had Target in Canada, but they pulled out last year.

I picked up this planner for Kristy as she took an interest, when Ashley and I worked on ours.
I had asked her if she wanted one, but she didn't think she would use it.
But when I saw this one and it was under $5.00, so if she didn't use it, it wouldn't be a huge investment gone to waste.
I have to say, she has worked on it the last 2 days and is really enjoying decorating it up :)
I can't tell you how happy this makes me...2 out of my 3 daughters enjoys planning with me :)

Still at Target :)
I knew Ashley would love these tumblers...as well as everything else I bought and she nabbed either half of it, so what I was going to give her as her BDay gift, lol.
But she gave me a new pair of boots that didn't fit her right...so I think we are even ;)

I had to run back into Target, as I needed to get something besides chocolate covered pretzels for Heather.
She is enjoying those adult colouring books...I bought my girls some for Christmas.
I also bought them all a package of pencil crayons...but Heather is the artist of the family and even though there were 3 different shades of greens in the smaller pack, she said there weren't enough shades.
I suggested she use my Blicks colouring pencils, but she didn't want to as she knew how much they cost...which didn't matter to me if she took an interest in colouring.
So I picked up this set of 50 for her and hope there are enough different colours for her in here...if not, I hope she will use mine.

When we were over in Superior, I wanted to run into Walmart for my Cream Horn pastries, as they seem to be one of the only Walmart's I have ever seen them at.
But of course since I was in the store, I might as well check out the craft section ;)
I found these pocket cards to be fun...as they will apply to the not to perfect days, lol.

Also well we were in Superior, I had to check out Fabric Works.
I love paper crafting, fabric and wool/yarn...and this place has it all :)
Sadly they are only going to carry wool/yarn and are discontinuing their fabric and paper crafts sections of the store.
They did have all of the paper crafting and fabric on sale, but still sad they had to do this.

A couple of visits to both Wayne's and my favourite store Barnes and Nobel.
I picked up this book by Janet Evanovich...I have read so many of her books in this series, but for the life of me, I couldn't remember which book was the last one I read.
Good thing you really don't need to read them in order (even though it bothers me that I may have missed a couple).
I knew I was going to finish the book I was reading on our drive, so I needed another one to read on the way home :)
The note books are a set of 3....I honestly think I have them already.....but one can never have to many notebooks ;)

I bought another MiquelRius for my Fauxbonichi journal as well as a coiled notebook with the same cover as the sewn notebooks above.
I also picked up this book for Wayne as well as another one I didn't get a photo of.

Thats it, thats all :)
Now the fun part...or not so fun part..is putting all of these supplies away.
Not so easy to do when my room is a mess and I need to reconfigure the whole room and how I am storing all of my supplies.

I hope you all have a very Creative Day :)

Crafty shopping trip Day 2

More shoppin' shoppin' shoppin'
My Target haul….
We don't have Target here in Canada anymore, so the girls enjoy going to one, and I enjoy checking out their Target spot :)
I love this Coke t-shirt, it is so me.
I picked the colouring book up in a small shop in Burnsville Mall.

Then to Michael's.
I just love the fabric used on this cosmetic bag….which will probably be used as a pencil case or for embellishments.

Tomorrow I will show you my happiest creative goodies that I purchased :)

I hope you all have a very Creative Day :)

More Shopping….Crafts Direct, here we come!

Hold on to your seats…I went a bit crazy.
Today was the day that Sharon and I got to go to Crafts Direct.
I had mentioned yesterday, that we are on a trip….our trips consist of shopping for craft goodies.
Neither Sharon or I are internet shoppers, and the only store we have near us is Michaels.
So when we go on a trip, we shop…and I mean we SHOP.
I felt I needed to explain, that this is not an every day thing…it is more a Yearly thing.

Last year we discovered Crafts Direct in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
It is less than an hour and a half away from where we are staying.

I was pretty excited when I saw that almost everything I loved was on sale.

I was also excited to see that they had  "I Am" collection, and it was all 30% off, I saved $24.00 on this :)

Had so get some sparkle and embellishments :)
They also have a Crafts Direct Outlet, close to their store, so of course we had to check them out…even though we were starving from shopping so long :)

See those "Fall" wooden blocks.
I took a photo of them in the store, as I was planning on making them when I got home.
But when I found out that they were under $6.00 for the set…I bought them…they are so pretty.

Ran into Target to pick up some pop (or soda as you American's call it).
But had to checked out the dollar bins.
Found some chalk and kraft banner pieces and black mesh letters…I can feel a project or 10 coming on ;)
I found these calligraphy markers for $5.00.
My old ones are all dried out.

There was also a Michael's in St.Cloud.
We were a bit disappointed with how small the paper crafts section was.
But funny enough, we still managed to find a few things to put in our baskets ;)

They also had a Joann's Fabric and Crafts store.
There must be so many creative people in this town :)
Look at those journals.
I was (again) going to make my own with the centres cut out…but they were on sale, so figured why not ;)

Sharon and I decided to share some of our shopping.
Because these products had multiples, we decided to share them.
I purchased the pastel pearls and she the brighter ones, so instead of us both purchasing the exact same ones, we each purchased one set and will each give the other, half of theirs :)
Same with the stencils and PL cards

Look at this isle of sticker letters…..swoon.
This store is like walking into heaven…or at least one of my ideas of what heaven will look like ;)

After we came back to the hotel, we went for supper and then to gamble.
I even gambled!!
I received $50.00 in free spins and won $35.00.
Once I won I cashed out…I don't think they like me here, they don't make any money off of me…..Sharon on the other hand…..lol

I hope you all have a very creative day.
I am going to go and dream of all the beautiful projects I am going to make with all of my new crafting goodies ;)

We went Shopping

Get ready for some shopping goodness.
I am in Hinckley right now, but before coming here my friend/SIL Sharon and I did a bit of shopping in Duluth.
First stop Michaels....
I kept playing with this squishy brain, so Sharon snuck it in her cart...I guess she figured I needed a brain lol

Next stop was Hobby Lobby.

I know, I need more paper like I need another hole in my head....maybe that's why Sharon thought I needed a brain.

But they keep making such pretty paper.
And washi tape ;)
Good thing Sharon came back in the store as she reminded me to use my  gift card she gave me for my birthday.

Next on our adventure was Target.
Seriously...how gorgeous is this journal!!!

I also found these fun cardboard pens in the dollar section!!
Needed a straightener as I left mine at home for Kristy and my spare is at camp. So picked up the cheapest one I could find.

Lastly was Barnes & Noble for some notebooks as I wanted to play along with "Listers want to list" last year....yes I'm late to the party ;).
After all that shopping we needed to get our strength up for the drive to Hinckley, so we went out for dinner....bet you can't guess where, lol.

Lastly a trip to the casino here to watch Sharon lose her money.
Or as she likes to say "donate it".
I lost $5.00 that was my limit, lol.
Off to sleep as we are heading to Crafters Direct.
Hope you all had a very Creative Day.

Tracy :)
