Another birthday card.

July is full of birthdays and so many fun opportunities to make Birthday cards!!
I made this one for my friend Debbie.
I have a few birthday cards on hand...but sometimes we need to make a special card for a special person.

I had this image that I had coloured earlier and I just love this image from MFT's Pure Innocence line...I think it is called  Happy Mail, I have used her a lot, she is just so darn cute and that bird on the mail box πŸ’—
I created this card up at our cottage, so I used the papers (Cut & Paste by MME) and supplies that I keep up here (which is quite a bit actually) to create this card.

I did bring this Stamping Up stamp set called "Happy Birthday, Everyone" especially for this card and then decided to leave it up here.
Can you believe this is the first time I have used this set!!
I think it was a Hostess set from when I hosted a SU party a couple of years ago.

Yes I really do make this much mess creating one card, teehee.
Here is my work area up at our cottage.
I am so so so overly excited that I have my own little room dedicated for my crafts in our new cottage.
Well it is for my crafts and there is a futon in here as well for guests.
My husband keeps teasing me when I say its my craft room...he says its the spare room or the guest room.....or even his fishing room.
But I have caught him more than once referring to it as my craft room....brain washing really does work, teehee.
I will share more on this area in another post.

But seriously, how can you beat this view.
I can open the window and chat with anyone on the deck.
And I can admire our little lake and listen to the loons while creating.
Now you all know why I love it here so much.

I hope you all have a very creative day today and enjoy your view.

Matchstick Challenge Take 1

I had mentioned before, that my friend Denise likes to challenge her crafty friends with different things to incorporate into our cards or crafts.
This time she supplied us with match sticks.
Everything on this card were goodies I had won from CanadianScrapperGirl from YouTube….all except the image, card base and the matchstick :)
I had a few ideas for this challenge, but this one won out ;)
I used the match stick as a post for the mailbox.
The matchsticks were pretty vibrant, so I coloured this one up with my Copics.
I coloured this cute Pure Innocence stamp with my coloured pencils and blended them with Gamsol.
I made this card when my friend and I went away. Debbie wanted to know how to make a easel card so thats what I did for this one :)
I am still loving banners (or fishtails) at the moment :)
Why do they make me smile :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Day :)

Pure Innocence and a funny story

Last night, Debbie and I finished these cards that we started last August at our "Girls Getaway".
Can you believe we didn't finish them sooner?!
Actually my image was coloured, paper pieced and my card was more or less put all together.
But I just needed to paper piece her balloon.

When I took another look at it this morning, I thought it was missing something.
So I added some line work to the papers.
I just used my .03 multi liner and drew the black lines around all the papers and flags or fishtails.
I think it added just the perfect touch ;)

I remember adhering her dress late at night….way back in August. I don't think I had my cheater glasses on, and now I can see I didn't quite get her dress on perfectly.
Oops ;)

Here is the inside of my card.

Today Wayne and I had an appointment.
It was cancelled yesterday as the guy couldn't get into town.
So today was the day…but we had to miss the Olympic hockey game. Congrats Finland :)

I hope you all had a very creative Saturday.
I did.
I put a card together from the image I coloured last night.
Not to happy with how the card turned out…but still have a few touches to add to it.

Funny Story:
I was so tired this evening so went for a nap at around 6:30pm.
When I woke up I was confused as to why Wayne wasn't beside me as I thought it was morning.
That was until I heart Heather laughing at a show that was on.
I got up and told Wayne, wow I really needed that nap.
He looked at me oddly and said "You were only gone for 10 minutes"
That is what I call a power nap, lol.

Off to bed early tonight as Wayne and I are getting up early to watch the Canadian/Sweden hockey game.
Good luck to Canada :)
7:00am comes early for me.

Tracy :)
