I love the look of images coloured with distress inks.
So I was playing with how to colour my images with Copics, but make it look like I used distress inks.
I like how it turned out, but not the colour I used for the clothing.
I took this photo with lighting from my lamp so please excuse the poor lighting and grainy quality.
Here is a close up of her face.
I am really happy with how her face turned out.
She will hopefully make it on a card tomorrow :)
I don't know about you, but I never just play with my supplies.
Let me explain. For example lets take this image I coloured today.
I have never tried this technique before, but I will use my finished piece.
I never make anything just for the sake of practicing. When I try something new, I always use it on a project.
What about you, do you make samples of new techniques or just play around just to practice on?
Onto My Day:
I did get down to my scrap/craft room to work on the album today.
I finished the first page and am almost done the second page :)
Boy this one is slow going.
Hope you had a creative Wednesday :)
Tracy :)

Your coloring is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but I like the color you used for the clothing. It looks like a color I would wear lol... I need to learn techniques for copics.
ReplyDeleteI always use it on a project too unless it turns out REALLY bad and ends up in the trash =)
ReplyDeleteTracy, that is adorable! You did a great job! No, I don't go and just make stuff lol. I'm usually on a mission to do one thing at a time, if I'm lucky. ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat coloring Tracy, so adorable! I usually end up ruining several things along the way before I get something worthy of a project!!
ReplyDeleteI usually just head into a project head on and hopefully I will be happy with the end result.
ReplyDeleteHey Tracy, I think you did a FAB job. Your coloring is superb.
ReplyDeleteHI Tracy - Your colouring is absolutely brilliant and what a lovely image.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog and for your kind comments.

Thank you for following Tracy,
ReplyDeleteI bought three Magnolias for the first time yesterday. I asked the girls at The Stamp Basket to help me, as to how to colour her face and they were very helpful. So I am going to craft all day now. This little girl of yours is gorgeous, I will have to try the distress inks too.
Well done she will be a "wow" on a card.
Hugs Elaine
perfect!!! here in Brazil those copics are expensive....I only have one :)
ReplyDeletehave a nice day
kisses

always impressed by your coloring--i know you love markers are you going to give the new tim holtz markers a try?
ReplyDeleteI love how she turned out! Your coloring is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI usually intend to include things on either a card or a scrapbook page, but sometimes I think I'll like something, then it doesn't work, or I change my mind about the direction I'm going, so I put it in my pile of "extras" that I can flip through when I need a quick embellishment.
So cute and love the coloring job.. I so need to play with my copics more.... Thanks for inspiring me today...
ReplyDeleteOoooh! I really like how this turned out Tracy!
ReplyDeleteI can't really say that I don't practice using a new technique. I do, and when it turns out, I keep it to use on something later (hopefully). However, I have been known just to jump right in with both feet on more than just a few occasions and hope for the best. I had to practice with my Cricut, but I learn best from making mistakes, so you can imagine how good I am with it by now and how much paper I've thrown away. LOL!!
Love how you coloured her. I haven't used my copics in awhile, I think I will have to make a card tonight:)

Wonderful Colouring Tracy. Thank-You so much for your kind comments on my blog. Hugs From Bonnie Scotland Rita xxxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a great job, I tried to color with distress ink but I think I used the wrong paper, what paper did you use? tfs
ReplyDeleteOooo, love it. I like the colors you used. I usually toss most of my technique tries, well because I'm a perfectionist.
ReplyDeleteYay! 1 page down!
Cutie! It depends, sometimes I use them and sometimes I toss them...
ReplyDeleteShe's too cute! You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteGreat coloring...she looks fantastic.

That looks really pretty! I almost never try new techniques. I'm stuck I'm a rut :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome look on your coloring! I have a hard time with trying new things. Once I do and I like it then I will use it :0) Hugs!
