Happy Holidays

I hope you all have had wonderful Christmas.

Like many around the world the Holidays have been a little more quiet.
We are in lockdown here in my province as of today.
Luckily I was able to celebrate Christmas with my immediate family.
We were only to have 10 people in our house during Christmas, but as of today, we can now only have  those that live in our household.
I am sure going to miss my daughter, son in law and my grandbabies....but so far it is only for 14 days.

Now onto some fun things.
Christmas cards!!!

I wanted to do something new this year for my cards.
I wanted to play with some water colours!
I drew my images and then coloured and shaded them with my Inktense water-colour coloured pencils.
I have been trying to play more with my supplies....got em, use em...right?!?

Funny as I am looking at the card fronts, I am thinking I should have added some shadows to the babbles and maybe some more colour to the background.
Always a critic to my own work, lol.

I hope you are all safe and have a creative day.

Sawyer's 4th Birthday and his Spiderman card

My oldest grandson turned 4 in Sept.
He is so cute, such a sweetie and so so smart.
He loves his cars and heavy machinery (like his grandpa).

He also loves Superheroes.
So I wanted to make him a card similar to his little brother's Hulk card.
I found an image of Spiderman off of the internet and printed 2 up on my photo printer.
I also grabbed this halloween paper as it was perfect with this spider web on it!

I fussy cut the image out, and then cut out the head and the hand from the second image.
I then popped up Spider mans head and double popped up the the hand.

I enjoyed doing some virtual scrapbooking with my friend tonight...so not the same, but its the next best thing!!

I hope you all had a creative day.

Dawson's 2nd Birthday

It was my youngest grandson Dawson's 2nd Birthday this fall.
Isn't he just the cutest 2 yr old!!!
He is such a smart active little guy, who loves to copy everything his big brother does ❤️

We celebrated his birthday at the cottage this year. So I had to make a card with what I had there.
I had some paper and my photo printer.
I found this image on the internet (I think it was a car decal) I saved it and then printed 2 images up on my photo printer.
I then fussy cut out the face and hand of the HULK (who happens to be Dawson's favourite super hero).
I stamped these letters and then fussy cut them out as well.

I popped Hulk's face up on top of the back image.
Double popped up the Hulk's fist, so it looks more like he is coming out of the card.

One thing I really enjoy about crafting up at the cottage is having to use what I have.....it becomes a fun challenge!

I hope you all have a very creative day

Hey Jack!

I can't believe I haven't done a blog post since May!!!

I have been hiding out at our cottage away from all things Covid.
Our daughters come up every weekend, so I get to see them, or I don't think I could stay out here this long without seeing them and my grandsons ❤️

I have been creating while I am here though...that is just part of who I am.
Also part of who I am is making pretty things out of discards.
My latest one is this Jack-o-lantern made from our old propane tank that was destined for the dump.
Isn't he so cute!???!

First thing I did (well, first thing my husband Wayne did) was lightly sand the tank and then spray paint it with this Rust-o-leum spray paint,

Then I added some splatters.
I used some yellow ochre, white and black.
I was so so happy with how the splatters looked!!
I then drew on a face and painted it black and then used the yellow ochre around the edges of the features to look like the inside part of the pumpkin.
I have seen others do with where they actually cut the features out....but because there was propane in this, you have to be very careful...so instead, I just painted on his features.

I love how this turned out so much so that Wayne and I went to the dump to pick up another on this same size so Jack can have a friend.
Thinking of grabbing a few more and making some ghosts....oh Wayne!!!!

Thank you all so much if you are still checking out my blog and I plan on blogging more since we are heading home for the season in a while where I have much better wifi.

Hope you all have a very creative day

"Love" file folder mini

I love mini albums!!!
I love to make them, I love to look through them and I especially love if they are interactive!
I really love this one as it is made with file folders...yup regular ol' office file folders!
Can you tell how much I love this little mini!!

This one I used a lot of my Heidi Swapp papers from one of her older collection.

Here is the inside of the first page.
I put a tuck spot and a pocket on the inside cover page.
The "enjoy Every day" card is actually a flip!

The first page is an accordion flip page...so much fun!
I added a corner pocket in the center flip and a long tag to the pocket on the last flip.
The banner on the inside of the back cover is punched out with a tiny punch.
I added a tuck pocket to the bottom of the page.

Ohhh but just wait!!!!!
There is another side to that accordion fold.
I added another bottom tuck pocket to the accordion fold and also a flip up with a journal card.

See how fun this mini album is!

I also made a flip through video on this mini.
Check it out on my YouTube Channel.

Again my friend Deborah stayed with me for the whole day and we created together.

Guess who else visited me virtually....my adorable grandsons ❤️
I miss them so so much ❤️❤️❤️

I so enjoyed my Solo Crop.
Not the same as the real deal...but making the best out of this situation.

I hope you are all safe and making the best of your days spend at home ❤️

Solo Crop & Create Day 2 continued.....

Day 2 was a full day of creating and virtually visiting friends.
I completed another kit after dinner!
Don't you just love this grid cut!
This layout I followed pretty close to the kit.

I made this layout with some pattern card stock I had in my stash and this leftover dandelion fluff pattern paper that was in the kit.
There were so many die cuts in this kit!

I really need to put some photos on these layouts.

With so many die cuts and pattern paper left over in this kit, I decided to use the leftovers for cards!

I love that I added flowers to the truck beds and the milk and jug die cuts.

I am so happy to report that I killed another kit!!!!
I hope you are all safe and making the most out of your days at home.

Crop & Create Solo Day 2

Day 2 of my Solo crop!

I didn't get up at 8:00am.....I am not a morning person. You know if I was at the event, I would be the first one at our table though, lol.

This kit was designed by Shimelle Laine.
I did switch up some papers and also added a coca-cola bottle to the cluster at the bottom left of the page....well the page is about me ;)
I also made my own page with some of the left over papers from her kit.
The black cardstock, flower and sparkle letters were from my stash.
And look I actually have a photo on this one!!!

I also made a card with the left over papers and die cuts.

I am giving the rest of the ephemera away to a friend.
It is such a great feeling to totally kill a kit!!

And then it was time for the dessert buffet...which I had a toasted persian...yummy.
Then it was time to socialize again.....
Sharon, Lesli and I did a 3 person chat.

Debbie and I Face Time on a regular basis.
I love that she created along with me for most of the weekend 💕

It was a late crafty night for me and I loved it!!!
I completed a whole other kit, but I will share that one tomorrow :)

Stay Safe, stay at home and create.

Crop & Create Solo Day 1

Yesterday I was suppose to be travelling to Winnipeg for a 3 Day scrapbooking crop/event with my friends Sharon, Lesli, Lynne and Donna.
Sadly the event had to be cancelled because of this Covid 19 Virus.
Today was to be the first day of the crop.

I wasn't going to let the Virus ruin all of my ruin my fun, so I decided to have my own Crop & Create Solo crop.
I am going to follow the events schedule, do some layouts and FaceTime my friends!

Here I am at the photo booth!!

With no socializing or shopping, I got more done then usual, lol.
Notice the change to a more comfy attire, teehee.

4 Layouts completed (except photos)...go me!!!

And for the dessert buffet, I enjoyed a chocolate fudge mini egg cake with some french vanilla ice-cream.....my daughter's left over Birthday Cake 😉

And what is a crop with out friends?!?!
I chatted with Sharon, until her husband burned her dinner 😂.

I chatted with Debbie more than once.

Also Lynne and I crafted a bit together while chatting.
It sure isn't the same as being with these amazing ladies....but I sure enjoy seeing them even if it is through a screen.

I completed this kit and even made a few cards with the left overs.
I love when I kill a kit!!

That was Day 1 of my Crop and Create Solo Event.
Tomorrow is an early start.....but we will see how that goes, lol.

I hope you are all safe and making the most out of your days at home.

Pyramid Mini Album Tutorial

I have been having fun making these Pyramid Mini Albums.
They are quick and so much fun.

Every Friday Night, I have my friends over for Scrapbooking.
With Social Distancing we have been posting a lot on our private FaceBook group (we started our own group a while ago, as not everyone gets our humour, lol).
Because we couldn't get together, I decided to make a video tutorial on how I made these Pyramid Mini Albums. This way we could all craft on the same project, even though we can't create together.

I am so happy and excited that some of my friends have made them!!

I am going to share the tutorial here as well, so you can make them too.

If you do I would love to see them.
Post them on your blog and then let me know on here or on my YouTube channel, so I can see what you did!

I hope you all are safe and have a creative day 💕

Heathers Gorjuss Birthday Card 2020

Its me!!
Really its me!!
So much for my goal to blog once a week!
And here I used to blog everyday....what?!!?

Every year for my daughter Heather's birthday I make her a card with a Gorjuss girl on it.
She actually loved these images before I even knew about them.
After ordering some of the Gorjuss Girl stamps I noticed that she had an image on her computer screen. So every year since then I made her a card with one of these images.

This year I kind of cheated...
I usually colour my images on her card, but this year I ran out of time, so I photocopied my stamp package cover.
I felt like I slacked...but it still is a cute card, right?!
I just adore these images so so much.

I hope everyone is staying safe with this virus
I'm going to try and be a little more creative with most places being closed and having to stay at home.
I hope you all have a very creative day 💗💗💗

Fauxbonichi 2020

I am slowly getting back to my blog and I'm loving it!!
If you are a long follower of mine, then you know I love to journal.
Let it be art journaling, writing in my journal or even making lists...I love paper!

So I again am doing a fauxbonichi this year.
A fauxbonichi is most like a daily journal or diary.
It is a fake Hobonichi....hence the name "faux-bonichi"

Here is my inside cover pages to this years book.
I first adhered this really pretty woodgrain paper to both pages.
Then I used a wall art sticker transparent flower to the left page. I trimmed the over hang of the flower and added the leaves separately from another part of this sticker.
The sticker words were being very difficult to place as they kept wanting to cling staticly to the page.
The stickers came with a transparent tape...but I discarded it when I used the negative part of the stencil on a t-shirt.
Lastly the butterfly was from anther Dollar Store wall art sticker sheet.

I am so happy with how this turned out!

I hope you all have a very Creative day 💗

Judy's Card

Isn't this such a pretty card?

I was at a small scrapbooking crop with my friend Debbie and this card was the Make N Take.
My favourite Stampin' Up demonstrator Judy walked us through this card.
We water coloured the the flowers in with re-inkers.

I love to decorate the inside of my cards and this is stamp was perfect for this
I just think this is such a beautiful card and can be changed up depending on which sentiment you use or the colours you choose.

I even completed a few layouts at this crop....and I taught a little unexpected mini album class at my table, lol.

Thank you all for visiting me today
I hope you all have a very Creative Day

Gingerbread House Mini Album

I can't believe it has almost been a YEAR since I last posted!!
WOW!
But I am back!!

I have been creating still, just haven't really been sharing on my social media sites.
2020 has me making creative goals and getting back to my blog and Youtube are part of that!

To start off the New Year I have a fun little project to share with you all.
A Gingerbread House Mini Album.

The papers and embellishments are from my December SCT Sampler Kit.
The album base was inspired by a kit a friend purchased from The Scrapbook Cottage when we were at the Crop & Create event.
I love flips and little tucks in mini albums...so interactive!
These papers are so cute and they are a perfect fit with my 2 adorable grandsons 💕
I love this photo of the boys with Santa...the little one (Dawson) was not happy when his daddy walked away, lol.
The "doors" as my grandson Sawyer calls them, opens up to reveal another cute photo of them 💕
I love how Sawyer is so overly happy and Dawson is looking at him like give it a break big brother, teehee.
I left this one blank to add a big photo or a few smaller ones.
And the pocket has tags that were in the SCT Sampler, I just added the twine.

I know, I know, I haven't put all of the photos in this mini...but if I waited until I did to post it, you may never see it, lol.

I also did a flip through video of this mini.
I plan to do a tutorial on how to make this type of mini very soon.

I wish you all the best in 2020 with lots of family time, love and creating.

Thank you all for visiting me today.
I hope you all have a very Creative Day
