Love You & Me mini album

I have been enjoying the summer at camp!
Our summers are short here in Canada (Northern Ontario) so I make the most of them by being outside as much as I can....which means my craft suffers.
But we have a very long cold winter here...so outside I will stay until I hibernate for the winter.
With that being said, I am going to share with you a project I made in February.

I have a yearly subscription with Scrapbook & Cards Today for their SCT Sampler.
I have been getting them since they started in January 2018...but I really haven't been using them.
This year my friend Deborah and I made a pact with each other to use each Sample as they came...we are a few months behind 😳

We made a mini album with the February's sampler.
Here is the one I made.
I made it for my youngest daughter Kristy and her boyfriend.

I also did a video explaining (not very good I might add) on how I constructed this mini.
I have been getting requests to do a tutorial on this mini....so that is in the far off future, lol

I hope you enjoyed my mini album.

Scrapbook Cottage Challenge #3 "Chilled Boys"

I had so much fun at The Scrapbook Cottage's virtual scrapbook crop.
I usually attend crops with my group of friends, but with us being in Lockdown/Stay at home order, that hasn't happened since a year ago.

I really enjoyed doing their challenges and working on the sketches they provided.
This was a 1 page spread and I really enjoyed playing with my own supplies...some really old supplies.
I had to turn the sketch sideways to accommodate my photos.

These photos just get to me, lol.
My oldest daughter Ashley is a photographer and has such great ideas on photoshoots.
Which this would have been such a great photo shoot of her boys, that is if it wasn't so cold out.
My husband, daughter and I put up the our old Christmas tree and decorated it, while my daughter staged the area. But my poor grandson's were freezing...Sawyer (the oldest of the two) tried so hard to help his mommy out with getting the perfect photos. He tried so hard to smile. Dawson my youngest grandson, wasn't having any of it, lol.

We also had a card challenge with every scrapbook challenge.
Here is my take on this challenge.
I used scraps of this beautiful paper my friend Julie was going to dispose at a crop a year or 2 ago.

Here are the sketches we followed for the 3rd challenges of the day.

Thank you again Sharon and Kathy for putting on such a fun event...and for helping us all with our online shopping ;)

I hoping you are all healthy and safe and have a wonderfully creative day.

Crop & Create Solo Day 1

Yesterday I was suppose to be travelling to Winnipeg for a 3 Day scrapbooking crop/event with my friends Sharon, Lesli, Lynne and Donna.
Sadly the event had to be cancelled because of this Covid 19 Virus.
Today was to be the first day of the crop.

I wasn't going to let the Virus ruin all of my ruin my fun, so I decided to have my own Crop & Create Solo crop.
I am going to follow the events schedule, do some layouts and FaceTime my friends!

Here I am at the photo booth!!

With no socializing or shopping, I got more done then usual, lol.
Notice the change to a more comfy attire, teehee.

4 Layouts completed (except photos)...go me!!!

And for the dessert buffet, I enjoyed a chocolate fudge mini egg cake with some french vanilla ice-cream.....my daughter's left over Birthday Cake 😉

And what is a crop with out friends?!?!
I chatted with Sharon, until her husband burned her dinner 😂.

I chatted with Debbie more than once.

Also Lynne and I crafted a bit together while chatting.
It sure isn't the same as being with these amazing ladies....but I sure enjoy seeing them even if it is through a screen.

I completed this kit and even made a few cards with the left overs.
I love when I kill a kit!!

That was Day 1 of my Crop and Create Solo Event.
Tomorrow is an early start.....but we will see how that goes, lol.

I hope you are all safe and making the most out of your days at home.

The Magic of Movies tag swap

My friend Stephanie and I have been doing art journal challenges for each other for a couple of years on and off now.
This is the second tag swap that I have participated in with her and her friends.
The theme for this tag swap was "The Magic of the Movies"
As many know I love scary, horror and Zombie movies....but figuring not everyone likes those types of movies...I went with a general movie theme.

I stamped these tickets from the Tim Holtz stamp collection on the same paper as the tag itself and then fussy cut them out.
I also stamped the word background because I thought the text looked like those old time theatre posters.
If you look closely I added some of Vicki Boutin's iridescent glaze under the black film strip.
I used a piece of the discarded black film strip as as stencil to use with the glaze.

The black film strip was punched out with a mini punch, that was put in a border gadget (like a border punch type of thing) where the paper is moved with each punch.
There is an acetate film strip, by Tim Holtz, which I stapled on top of the black film strip.

I had fun playing with my mixed mediums.
If you look at the bottom corner of the tag I used Inkagold with a stencil to look like a film reel.

In this photo below, you can see the Glaze I used with the stencil I made.
I also used washi tape.

Here are the ladies that did the swap this time.
I am the one in the burgundy Stephanie is the one holding her selfie stick :)

Only 3 of us were in this swap this time.
Me Stephanie and her mom Louann.
Mt tag is on the left, Stephanie's (The Littlest Mermaid inspired) is the center and Louann's is on the right.
They all turned out so beautiful and unique.

Oh look!!!
I did a video of my tag...not only to share more of this tag with you, but I also did a process video on how I created it.
If you would rather watch it on my YouTube channel, just click on the link "Tracy's Treasures 24"

Thank you all for visiting me today and I hope you all have a very Creative Day :)

Quick Layout Share

You have all been asking me about all my kits and wanting to see what I have done with them.
Well here are some of the layouts I had done :)

I usually do 2 page spreads, but I have been expanding my horizon and been doing a few 1 page layouts.
I have been making quite a few 1 pages for Sawyers album.
Honestly my grandson's 1st year album will be completed well before any of my 3 daughters will, teehee.

I used the Sweater Weather 2016 Fall kit from Scrapbook & Cards Today, for these layouts.
"Fall Love"
I have to say I love this layout.
I really like the papers and all of the fussy cut flowers I had to trim up.
Of course the star of this page is Sawyer. 💗 (can you believe I just discovered I can add symbols to my text).

Now back to my 2 page layouts.
"In My Arms"
I picked out some photos of Sawyer and I for this one.
I may change the word Love to Safe..so the Title will read Safe in my Arms.
I used this same layout of this page, in "Autumn Family" page below.

Here is the second page to this layout.
I did purchase the blue plaid, it was not in the kit.

"Little Pumpkin"
I used a different sketch then was in this kit.
I really like how this one turned out!!!
Simple yes, but I love the large circle.
I may do my journaling on the lower left of this page.

Second page.
My photographer daughter Ashley (Sawyer's mommy) took these photos in these layouts.
The backdrop to these photos was a fall display my daughter Kristy and I did in our front yard.

"Autumn Family"
The photos from these layouts were of our family that came to our home for Thanksgiving dinner last month.
My sister and her children are in this photo (as well as my family) as they were the only ones able to make it for dinner.
But we all enjoyed being together and Ashley did a great photo shoot of us all.
This layout I used the same sketch as I used in the first page of "In My Arms"

This second page is of Wayne Sawyer and I and then Wayne and I with our 3 awesome daughters.

See I have been using what I have 😉.
I made a video with more detail of the kit, these layouts and a few other layouts that I haven't put photos on yet.
If you would like to watch the video on my YouTube page just click the link "Tracy's Treasures24"
If you go to my channel I would love a thumbs up and would love to read your comments :)

I have so much to share, but have been busy looking after Sawyer most days now that his mommy is back at work....but I love being able to spend so much time with this little cutie, even if I need to have a wee nap when he does, lol.

I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Happy Mother's Day!!!!

I have to share with you this card I made yesterday during International Scrapbooking Day.
It is not your typical Mother's Day card as it is for a Mother to Be :)

I used this pretty image from "Stamping Bella called Uptown Girl Brynn" has a baby shower.
But I thought it was great for anyone having a baby..perfect for my Mother's Day card as the recipient loves to shop ;)

Here is my sentiment for this card.
I just printed it on my computer.
The tiny hearts in the background was stamped.
The paper was blank in that area and it just needed something, but I didn't want to take away from the image or the embossing, so I used a very light colour of pink and blue ink and scattered the hearts for a subtle look.

I received this beautiful cardstock from "Paper Garden.ca"
They sent me multiple sheets of 5 of their colours.
I used this beautifully shimmer paper called Stardream Kunzite.
I thought the paper was a great one to use with this uptown girl.
The paper is a soft lilac colour (the photos show up better in the images above.
This time I wanted to try and emboss these papers to see how well they stood up.
I was so impressed!!!
Look how beautifully the embossing shows up, yet (because of the heavy weight of the paper) doesn't rip through the paper.

I thought I would do a sketch challenge.
Funny thing is,  I didn't realize the challenge is long over, teehee.
But thought I would share the sketch I used.
The sketch shows 3 different paper strips..which I did, but I fanned mine out.

Here are all of the colours I used to colour in this image.
Yes I used every single one of these markers :)
See I do need all of my Copics ;)

I made this card into an easel card.
I used Mary Engelbreit 6x6 paper collection I had picked up years ago in the dollar section at Michael's.

Onto My Day:
Today being Mother's Day, I got to spend my day with these wonderful young ladies.
Every year I love to spend Mother's day outside with my 3 daughters working in the yard.
A bit of raking, weeding and just sitting around chatting.
This year we hit one of the sheds and cleared it out.
That wasn't on my list, but Ashley started and we just kept at it.
I am so lucky to have these girls in my life.

Here is the card my girls gave me.
As you can see, they leave the card making to me, lol.

Before spending the day outdoors, the girls prepared me a wonderful brunch of french toast and fruit salad.
Look how pretty they set up the table :)

Look at the beautiful flowers they got me...I love flowers :)
Love the colours.

After brunch we spent the whole day outside, it was such a beautiful day.
Then for supper Wayne BBQ'd us burgers and baked potatoes...first BBQ of the year :)
And lastly, we had red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing for dessert...yum.
Then sat around chatting the rest of the evening until Ashley headed for home.
Such a perfect day.

I hope you all enjoyed your day and was able to spend it with your family :)

Tracy :)
