Defunkifying my Life Mission 15.....Journal Cards

I'm not sure if you have the same problem as I do, but I love journal cards.
Well, that isn't my problem, the problem is I don't have them all in the same area.
So when I am looking for a perfect journal card, I have to look in a few different spots.

I had some in a basket on a shelf in my large cabinet.
I had some on my desk in smaller containers.
I had some in a lower cabinet.
Plus the one in my large cabinet was on a higher shelf, so I would just toss cards back in there...I'm a little on the short side and couldn't see in there.

So I finally thought, enough is enough, I am getting this under control.
Of course the first thing I did was
Gather....I gathered up all of my journal cards.

Oops I missed this one...I was finished sorting and went for another look and found a few more, lol.

Speaking of Sort...that is the next stage.
Sort likes with likes.
Tags together, journal spots together, recipes/index cards together....you get the idea ;)
I had noticed I had other items in here that didn't belong..bags, envelopes, but we will get to them on another day.

Contain
When we were on our last little trip, I ran into Ikea, just for these containers.
I think it was on 2peas that a few ladies were using these containers to store their Project Life supplies in. I thought they would be perfect for this...plus they were under $4.00 :)

Doesn't this just make you smile :)
I love to organize, it just makes me happy to see everything nice and neat and in its home.
I put the clear plastic container in this breakfast tray. With the weight of the cards, I think the plastic container may not be very stable. So this fit perfect.

Starting at the center back-Large recipe/index and journal cards.
Center front- reg sized recipe/index cards and journal cards.
Right back- tags
Right front- PL tags and other vertical journal cards.
Left long section- tags and stamps.
Because it is on this tray I have room at the very front. I put this container of tiny tags in at the right and then found this clear packaging that fit perfectly on the left hand side. I put some tiny tickets in there.
I held a lot of my sets together with tiny clips.

Well for all of you that are more of a visual person....or can understand my babbling better on video..I made one just for you ;)

I am sure this is going to be so much easier to find what I'm looking for.
If nothing else, its more pleasing to the eye ;)

Hope you have all had a creative Sunday :)

iPhone pics

I thought today I would share with you some of my iPhone/Instagram photos.
I am still trying to grasp the whole Instagram concept...bear with me, I'm a slow learner ;)

I have gone way over my quota on Coca-Cola this weekend, and I enjoy ice with my pop.
Only to find 2 out of our 3 ice-cube trays were empty....I didn't realize it was such a hard job to refill them ;)
I think my daughters forgot the recipe on how to make ice-cubes.

This was my windshield yesterday.
Yup more snow....don't you just love it...NOT.
But at least the ground looked clean for a bit;)

Yuck.
I don't know why we complain about the weather, its the same every year.
We have been know to get snow storms at the end of April even. And every year we act like its new to us, lol.
I just think we are all tired of seeing this....we need to see some sun, some bright skys....and maybe some grass....even if it is brown, lol.

I hope you all have had a creative Saturday :)

Flower Shower Blog Hop for LBBS

Hello dear friends! Welcome to our “Flower Shower” blog hop of Little Blue Button Stamps designers!
They all are talented and super creative and can’t wait to share their projects with you!

If you have come from Stephanies' project then you are on the right track.
If you just happen to come upon my blog today, then be sure to check out the other DT members projects.

We are happy and excited to share with you our projects for a wonderful celebration of love – Lover’s Day which is celebrated on April 23rd! This is an awesome opportunity to celebrate love once again and to share it with everybody! And how do you say love but with flowers?
So let’s start!

First of all I want to share my project with you!
I used this sweet, sweet image called Miss Lily and Toby. Isn't she sweet...oh ya, I had already said that ;)
The sparkle is actually a package of stickers for a cell phone. Knowing I would never decorate my cell with these, I thought they would look great on a card.
I then punched the flowers out of card stock and then formed them in the palm of my hand. Added a sparkle in the center and then adhered them to my card.
See the polka-dot strip at the bottom...washi tape ;)
Here is a closer look at my coloured image.
I coloured this image with my Copics....which ones?????  Sorry again I forgot to put them aside. But I can tell you I had used well over 22 colours ;)
 The money shot.
Funny, as I never seem to get any money from these shots, teehee.
Here is the inside of my card.
I (as always) have used my recipe/index cards, so I can have nice straight lines for when I write my message.
I will probably stamp something on here once I know who will be receiving it.

Your next stop is
Tracey's blog.
Not only is she very creative, but she has an awesome name ;)

Nail Care...I need it.

I thought it was time to take of care of my nails.
If you watch my YouTube channel, then you know I like to wear nail polish.
But as the polish chips, it looks like crap...admit it when you see chipped polish it just looks grungy, and not the shabby grunge either.
So I will take my polish off and let my nails breath for a few day...weeks...months...or until my next video ;)

But one thing I don't like from wearing nail polish is that my nail tips are peeling and turning a yellowish colour.
Hate that.
As much fun as it is to peel the layers of my nails off, I want them to be healthy

So its time to give them a good taken care of.
Looking at this photo of my hand...I have my moms hands.
So the first thing I did was put on some cuticle oil. I have monster hang nails. So thick that I need a hacksaw to remove them.
Then I put on the nail repair.
I haven't used either of these products before, so I can't recommend them to you.
But I will share a photo in a month or so to see if it has helped.

After I let the repair stuff dry thoroughly, then I added my new nail polish :)
I know it looks like every other nail colour I own, but this one is so cool. Plus it was 50% off ;)  It has a gold shimmer under tones to it.
Now these aren't my mom's hands ;)

Then I remembered all those pinterest photos of the nail gurus showing off their perfectly manicured nails with the matching polish bottle.
I see I have another Pinterest Fail,
As I forgot to clean the polish off of the edges of my fingers, lol.

Grrrrrrrrrr.

Now don't think of my nasty yellow nails, get them out of your mind.
Pretend I didn't even show you them.
When you close you eyes at night, don't think of them....seriously it could give you nightmares ;)

But what you would rather think of is this yummy cheese cake that Kristy made in her college class.
I love this class she is taking because we get to enjoy her talents :)
Take my word for it, this was delicious.
Kristy is making us all eat healthier, she has been trying to for the last year.
Poor girl, its an uphill battle for her.
She only let us try a tiny piece.

I hope you all had a creative Thursday :)
Tomorrow I have a new card to share with you, as it is my DT Little Blue Button Stamps blog hop :)
See you then :)

LBBS 2 week Challenge #2 - Punch Me ;)

Guess what today is...Challenge day at Little Blue Button Stamps.
It is a two week challenge and this time we get to play with our punches :)
Go check out the LBBS blog to find out the rules and the prizes you could win ;)

Lets get to my challenge card.
I coloured up this cute image called Rag Doll Sweetheart with my copics.
Then pulled out a few of my punches and had a blast :)

I paper pieced her dress like no body's business, lol.
I was going to do a video on how I did that....but I forgot, lol.
So if you want to read how I paper pieced her dress, go check out LBBS blog where I tried to explain it as best I could...which may or may not be very clear ;)
And like I always do, I shade my paper pieced pieces (say that 5 times fast) to make them look more real and part of the coloured image.
This punch is from Stampin' Up. I love this punch, it is so cute.
I punched it out with the same pattern paper as her dress and then inked the separate pieces before putting birdie together.

I didn't have a sentiment stamp that I liked for this card, so I made up my own.
I printed it up on the computer and then adhered this die cut doily to the paper and reprinted it.
Same as I do for paper piecing my digi images.

Here is the inside of this card.
I wanted to still play with my punches :)

I made this little cupcake with my punches.
I used my cloud punch for the icing on my cupcake.
And used my tag punch for the cupcake wrapper. It is hard to see, but I also scored the cupcake wrapper and inked it to make it more defined.

Here are all the punches I used on this card.
Well technically I used 6 punches and 1 die cut.

I would highly suggest checking out the LBBS  blog to see how the other outstanding DT members have come up with on this challenge :)

I hope you have all had a creative Wednesday :)

Butterflies and my Brother

On my new path to make more simple cards....I think this is as simple as I can get.
I just used pattern paper, stamps and some black ink.
I inked the stamps on pattern paper.
Matted it on two different pattern papers and lastly popped it up with some dimensionals.

I didn't want to use the sentiment so I just didn't put ink on that part of the stamp. But I did want a different sentiment on this card, so I just used a different one.
Here is the stamp I used...I am pretty sure it is one of those $1.50 stamps from Michaels, from years ago.

Here is the inside of my card :)
Again simple.
Not sure how long I can go with simple cards, but it is fun...and fast ;)

Onto My Day:
I had to pick up our will's from our lawyer...can you believe it took almost 6 months for him to do them....never going to him again. And this is only the draft. He received a few words from me.
But before I went there, I dropped by my brother's work to say "Hi" and we ended up going for lunch together :)
Here is my oldest brother Darrell enjoying his burger.

I like this photo better :)

After lunch, I picked Kristy up from school, then went to find me the perfect day planner.
It had to be a binder type of book, so I can add pages or pouches.
I wanted a full blocked calendar for each month.
And after each month blocked calender, I wanted a weekly calender to write daily notes in.
I didn't think I was asking much...but apparently I was, as I couldn't find one :(

Came home and thought it would be a great idea to organize my journal blocks....I am making a big mess, lol.

I hope you all had a creative Tuesday :)

It was a TAZ kind of day ;)

You guessed it, Kristy made and decorated another cake :)
It was her boyfriend Blakes 18th birthday today so she made him a cake.
I told you she loved making these ;)
Isn't TAZ adorable.

Kristy was invited to dinner with Blake and his family.
We just happen to be on that side of town, so we picked her up when they were done.
In the parking lot we saw this.
It kind of looks like a Transformer doesn't it?
I thought it was pretty cool, so did a lot of others as people were all over it.

Then we went to pick up some groceries.
I think they have a few leaks in the ceiling, lol.
I just thought this was amusing. Not only did they have this tarp all rigged up, but they had a tiny wire directing the water droplets into the plastic bin.
It was like a science experiment, lol.

Just thought I would share a bit of my day with you today :)

Something seemed to be off yesterday....missing.
Then I realized what it was that I was missing....the Walking Dead.
I have to wait until October until the new season :(

I hope you all had a creative Monday :)
