A tutorial on binding a mini and some snow..snow...and more snow.

Lots going on today. Pictures and 2 video's oh my. Its like a Friday night party.

Day 11 of my 31 Days of video's. This video is a long time coming. When I made my Vintage mini, I have a lot of requests on how I did the binding on it. I said I would do a video..so here it is about 9 months late :)


Here are the photos of the binding. This is it normal and flat.But because the binding is wide, it can open 1/2" for each page. That way you can embellish your arse off and not have a book that looks like a "V".
We got snow again today...all day. When is spring coming? I could use some warmth and sun. I think Kristy agrees with me on this one :)

I had Friday Night Scrapbooking tonight. Sharon came by to just chat again, teehee.
Hubby and I did a bit of running around and that is about it for my day today.

Plan on having a nice relaxing weekend. I tried to upload or download a short video on blogger. It didn't happen. How do I do this. It said it was uploading, but it never stopped. Is there a trick to this?

New appliances

Day 10 of 31.

I made a quick video of how I cover my note pads. I use a ton of these suckers and I just like to have things around me look pretty. So I prettied them up a bit. I did show these last year on my blog, but not a video tutorial on how I did them.

When the papers for the note pad tops came out of my Xyron, I just had to take a picture. I found them to be so pretty, all together like this.

Whats that you say? Why is the stove in the dinning room. And to that I answer, because it is easier to serve the food right out of the oven this way.
You may ask, Why is your fridge in the living room? And to that I answer because you don't have to go very far to get your drink and a snack when you are watching the television. Well the real reason is because our new Appliances came today!!!!!!
Hubby was like, Please don't take pictures of them carrying the stuff into the house. LOL. Here is the new stove. Isn't it pretty. It is all push button, kind of like a computer. How long can I use the excuse that I don't know how to work it before Hubby catches on, lol.

Here is the refrigerator. I wanted one with the water and ice despenser, but we didnt' have a water source. But I bet we could have just got a longer tube. Oh well. I came home and Hubby put the stuff onto the new one. I think I may be removing this, as it looks cluttered. Yes that is a strawberry pig sitting on the top of the fridge. I bought that for Hubby one year. We put all our loonies and toonies in there to help save for family vacations. That sucker can hold a lot of loot.Onto my day:

Funny story. Kristy's friend was picking her up this morning so I was watching out the window for her ride. She was telling me about certain classes and about some of her classmates. Then out of the blue she says. : Lee Vong. "I ask her is that a girl in your English class?" She looks at me funny. So I ask "Is she oriental" She looks at me like a grew and horn out of my head. What I ask.
Kristy tells me, "Allison (her friend) texted her that they were "leavong" she spelt it wrong.

I laughed so hard, I couldn't stop. Then Kristy started laughing at me laughing. She is like mom why are you laughing? Because I am an idiot. I reply.
So Kristy has been texting me off and on all day about Lee Vong.
I don't know, maybe its a "you had to have been there" type of thing.

Thankful Thursday:
1. Laughing with my daughter
2. Laughing at myself.....funny I seem to do that a lot.
3. that I have a treadmill. I don't want to walk in this cold yet slushy weather.
4. that Spring is coming....yah I know it might be a few months yet, don't break my bubble.
5. That I took a nap today. Wow you would think I was 90 yrs old with all the naps I take.

Grunge toilet paper mini album

Day 9 of 31 days of video's.

Here is my completed toilet paper tube mini album. It was quite cute as I asked everyone in the house what they thought this was made from. No one guessed it was from toilet paper tubes. Ashley's boyfriend thought maybe leather, teehee.

Page 3 and page 4. On the 4th page that is from plastic packaging that I stamped on. Page 5 and page 6. That little file folder opens up to reveal the "live" ticket.Page 7 and page 8.I really enjoyed making the mini album. I wanted to make one of these last year. Yeah, check it off my list ;) Another goal completed, but I am sure I will be making some more of these. I sure won't run out of empty toilet paper tubes, I can assure you of that, lol.

Onto my day:

I took 2 long naps today. I was just drained. I did manage to take Heather out for lunch. We just went to a little place close to us. Then we came straight home and I took my second nap. Heather knew I wasn't up to par today, so she said we should just stay home. But I wanted some Finn pancakes and didn't want to make them myself.

I only had one glass (and a small one at that) of pop (Coke) today. Not by choice though. We didn't have any more and I didn't have the energy to go out and get some. I had to go out tonight to pick Kristy up from a friends house. She ran into the grocery store to pick up some more pop. But I was proud of myself, I didn't have any. It was after 6:00, new rule for me no pop after 6:00.

Toilet paper mini tutorial

Day 8 of 31 days of video's.
Here is a tutorial on how I made my Toilet paper mini album. Why do they call it a Toilet paper mini? You use toilet paper tubes, not toilet paper?

But no worries I have plenty more to share :)

Hubby woke up to this sweet note from Kristy this morning. Awww how sweet.
Now before you think she doesn't love her mommy, I got my note last month ;)See, and mine was on bigger paper too, lol. Its so nice to not only get a note like this from one of your children, but from your 15 yr old daughter....that's special. Oh where is the tissue. That's righ I used all the toilet paper to make this album ;)

We are suppose to get delivery of our fridge and stove on Thursday. First they said this Saturday (which I thought was really fast). Then they phoned today to tell us it should be here on Thursday :)

So Hubby had to go to Canadian Tire to replace our white range hood with a new stainless steel one. It all has to match you know. With all these stainless steel appliances people are going to expect some gourmet meals out of this kitchen. Ohhh I just hurt myself laughing.I made myself a tuna croissant tonight and Rose gets the juices and some tuna in a dish. Look at her go to town, her head is right in the dish, lol. You know she comes when she hears me getting the can. I can't figure out how she knows. I don't even have the can opener puncturing the can and she is right there. She doesn't come when I open any other type of cans only tuna. We got one smart kitty I'll tell ya.I had a rough time falling asleep last night. That never happens to me. I just go to my "Happy Place" and in no time at all, I'm off into lala land. Well last night I just couldn't turn off the mind. I thought about, crafts, friends, family, death, crafts, birth, illness, children, crafts.

So (has never been a problem before) I am not drinking pop (Coke) after 6:00. Yup that's right folks, last glass is after supper and then water for me. I succeeded tonight as well. Mind you my glass of water only got a couple of sips out of it. I need some crushed ice in it.

Proud Tuesday.

1. Walked (fast) on the treadmill for the second day in a row :)

2. Haven't missed a video yet.

3.That my baby still loves her parents, you knew that one was going to be on here.

4. Didn't drink pop after 6:00

5. Helped hubby put up the range hood...peacefully :)

Match Box Holder

Day 7 of 31.

I did this video because a lot of crafter's have told me you couldn't find those tiny plastic containers, so you couldn't make the Teeny Tiny mini album for your purse. Well I couldn't have that! So I came up with another way to carry around your Teeny Tiny Mini. Yup I love you guys that much ;)

Funny thing, I was looking up on how to put one of these together. You know what came up? How to make a Match box bomb! A bomb are you kidding me. And from the small picture, it looked like a kid was making it. Is this what kids are doing in their spare time?

We got some visitors again today. 5 of these cuties came by for a visit. I have a setting on my camera and it changes the background colour when the background is white. I hate this and I can never remember how to change it, grrrrr.On to my day:

Hubby is off until Wednesday. So today we went out and bought a new fridge and stove. Our old one is about 17 yrs old. And my boyscout Hubby is always prepared. He is so worried about the fridge quitting on us, so he has wanted a new one for a couple years. I told him, Its winter we will just throw the food outside in coolers in the snow. It will be fine. LOL.

It took me 5 days to get 5 people to sign up under my name. 5 Days! LOL.

Thank you so much for helping me figure out my Project 365 dilemma. Even if you didn't know what it was :) I think I have it figured out. Just have to get some photo's developed to see if it works the way I want it.

I need your P-365 Help ;)

Day 6 out of the 31 days of video's.

This video is out of necessity. I am trying to do project 365 days on my own again. For the last 2 years I have tried this project. Took pictures every day, and then I did journaling on 3 ring lined paper. But not one photo or journal block is in an album. So this is what I am working with, and need your assistance.

Here are the still pictures of the page protectors. Any help would be appreciated.Onto my day:

I took down my tree today. I always leave it up for Ukrainian Christmas, my mom always did, even though we aren't Ukrainian.
My dad would tease my mom and say "Alma, Ukrainian Christmas isn't in March", lol. My mom hated taking the tree down. And of course my dad wouldn't do it, teehee.

Hubby made supper again ;) He made homemade Beef and Barley soup and pork chops with cheesy scallop potatoes. Everything tastes better when I don't have to make it ;)

I really didn't get any creative time in today. Not because I didn't have the time, but because I was procrastinating about what I was going to do, that I ended up doing nothing!

My younger brother phoned me tonight to tell me that my SIL, Amanda is pregnant again. Their little one is just over 1 yr old. So excited for them. Ashley wants them to have a girl, she is thinking of the adorable pictures she could get, teehee. Kristy is hoping that they have another boy because Baby Tom is so cute. They are so funny.

I hope your weekend was a relaxing one and you got to get in some creative time.

Easel Card video

Day 5 of 31 days of video's.

I just put my last of my projects on my Facebook page. Wow I am impressed with all the creative projects I did in 2010. I didn't realize how many I made until they were all in the same album :)

I have had a few requests to do a tutorial on how to make an Easel Card. Which I find funny as I have only made one of these before. I should have done a few more before I did the video, as I had to really edit my stupidity. LOL

Today I didn't even get dressed. If I plan on staying home I with throw on a pair of my jammie pants (as I don't wear them to sleep in) and go about my day. But today I just didn't want to get up. When I did get up I just kept my robe on all day.
Hummm isn't this a sign of depression? Tomorrow I will pull up my boots and start to get this home in order.

The other day when I went for lunch with Heather, she had said to me. "Mom, we are one of the few families I know that doesn't drink or do drugs. We are a really good family. You did good mom. Thanks mom for raising us right."
I was taken back, pleased mind you. But I told her, Heather I can not take the credit for it. You girls were the ones to make the decisions in your life. You decided not to drink and party, and not to even try drugs. I taught you girls right from wrong, but you girls made the decision not to do that.
I can't take all the credit. Just like I wouldn't take all the blame if you girls decided to go the other way.
I felt so good as a mom for her to tell me that. Boy I love my girls. I really do enjoy to spend time with them.

So how did you spend you Saturday?
I sat on the couch most of the day. But I did create, good thing for the 31 video's in 31 days.
