How much Plaid is too much Plaid?

Thought I would share another Girls Creative Getaway card :)
I made this card with the paper pad "Oxford" by Basic grey.
I am not one to know my brands....so had to run downstairs to get the name of this paper pad ;)

Seriously how much more masculine could this card be...
Plaid- check
Boy image- check
No flowers- check
Black used-check
I guess I could have added some metal ;)

 This stamps was either given to me or I purchased it from a friend, so I don't know the name of it. But I am pretty sure it is a Greeting Farm stamp.
Coloured him in with my Copics.
It seems like forever since I picked up my markers :(  I miss my babies.  

The inside of my card...yup left over paper and my recipe/index cards.
Now that I look at this, I wish I would have backed the pattern papers with some black cardstock.....or at least inked the edges with black ink.

Onto My Day:
I took Ashley to the doctor to get her stitches removed early this morning.
She took a video of the doctor removing her stitches on her Iphone.....I sure love this girl :)
Bad thing is....it looks like it has opened up a bit. There isn't any blood, but there was a bit of clear fluid and it looks open. So I made some make shift butterfly stitches and hope that helps it heal closed.
Poor girl is going crazy not being able to wear her high heels.....and I mean she wears super high heels.
And patience is not her strong point. Just like her dad ;)

I had so many plans today...but ended up watching Supernatural with Heather most of the day. Besides getting her to do the wash and hanging up the laundry in between shows.

I adore you

For the last few days I have shared all my shopping goodies.
So today I thought I would share a card I put together.
I still have a few from my girls creative getaway to share, and this is one of them.
I used the paper pack Love Struck by We R Memory Keepers. I then backed it up with black cardstock as I love how it pops the bright colours even more.

I don't know the name of the stamp I used, as it is my girlfriend Debbie's stamp.
These kids remind me of a cartoon from when I was a kid. I can't remember if it was on Sesame Street or somewhere else, but they are so cute :)

I bet you know what I'm going to say....I used left over paper for the inside of the card, and recipe/index cards.

Onto My Day:
I was up until 2:30am cleaning the laundry room and my Scrap/craft room. Yup it was really that bad.
I have always cleaned better late at night, not sure why, but I remember my mom was the same way.
Then this morning I hit the rec room in the basement.
Boy was that bad as well. I think it was a dumping spot for cardboard boxes. There sure were a lot of them. I cut them down to size to tie them up for recycling.

The Satellite guy came by to readjust our dish. I guess when the roofers were up there they moved it and we haven't received all our channels since then. But with it being summer, we really didn't watch to much television.
So that is another reason why I was cleaning so late, didn't want him to think I was a hoarder or something.
We have the panel box in my scrap/craft room. I thought that the guy had to get to it. He didn't.
But at least my room is clean....now to organize it.

Wayne and I went out tonight and ordered my Red front loading washer and dryer. It gets delivered next Wednesday :)
I am so excited. I want to paint the laundry room now. I have a few colours picked out, now just to find the right one :)

Last of the Fun Stuff

We made it home safe and sound :)
We had an excellent Family Mini Vacation, maybe the last one with all of us together :(
I thought I would share the last of my creative goodies with you.
This was my shopping trip to Michael's. I love that stamp, isn't she adorable.
All those foam brushes were $1.00 for the lot :)

 Can't go to Mall of America without picking up my supply of peeps :)

My last visit to Archivers.
The girls wanted/needed to go back to Mall of America one last time. So I figured I needed to go back to Archivers since we were there anyway.
I picked up more paper packs, Seriously, I have an illness, lol. But one I don't want to cure ;)
I never did find any graph recipe cards, but I did find these neat journal cards.
I think they will work out for my Project 365......that I have not started yet.

Lastly I picked up these fun embellishments :)
I wish you could read the word bands better. What I like about them is that they are full phrases not just one word.
Those wood veneers are so fun. I can see them coloured with distress inks :)

     Onto My Day:
I spent most of my day in the jeep.
We arrived home a little after 7:00pm.
Then I cleaned up the laundry room. I got 1 2/3 large garbage bags full of garbage. No wonder I had trouble walking around in there, lol.
I still need to get a new dryer. I really am a procrastinator.
The weather is getting a bit too chilly to be hanging the clothes outside, so I don't think I can put it off any longer.
I am thinking of getting me the red front-loading washer and dryer. My washer still works, but I need a matching set right ;)
So if you have an front-loading washer and dryer, how do you like it?

It was a Tim and Heidi kind of day....lucky me.

Ohhh My Goodness today was an awesome day !!!!
I met Tim Holtz!!!!!!
Sadly I didn't get to take any of the classes he was teaching as, if you remember, we booked our family trip without me knowing that Scrapfest was going on this same weekend.
I did watch part of the class from the floor above the stage :)
Then I got to watch him do a demo right in front of me. He also signed a tag for me.
If he knew how many photos I got of him, he would think I was a stalker, lol.
Funny as I like a lot of his product, but I am not one of those crazy people that oogle over  someone, but I guess I kind of did today, lol.

Then I got to meet Heidi Swapp.
Again I wasn't lucky enough to take one of her classes either, but I did get to watch a bit from above.

Then the icing on the cake....yup my banana/caramel crepe :)

I didn't get to show you the rest of the goodies from yesterday, so here they are.
From the Archivers in Apple Valley, where the lady kept her eye on me, I picked up these fun papers and brads.

Picked up more Halloween paper. Why am I getting so much Halloween paper lately? There are some papers that are just coloured no bats and such, but seriously Tracy what is up with you.

The first time I went into Archivers, it was so busy, I couldn't even move. With all these ladies with their crop totes, it was to packed. So I gave them the store for a while and went back later.
I will share with you the photos of those goodies tomorrow.
The Internet is slow here, and I am tired and heading to bed. Too much excitement for me today ;)

Too much Crafty goodies.....Never ;)

I started my morning at 5:45am so we could be on the road at 6:15am.
We had a real late start as we didn't get on the road until 6:29am.
Gasp...I'm surprised that Wayne just didn't cancel the whole trip we were so late, lol.
You have to understand my hubby, if he says we leave at 6:15 and we drive out of the driveway at 6:16 then we are late. I have to give him credit though, he was very calm about it.
I think he has finally realized he has daughters and you can't rush girls, lol.

Once we were on the road for a while we stopped for fuel and I had me one of these.
Ohhh you think its coffee?
Then you don't know me very well, as I hate the smell of coffee, and the taste, but hot chocolate.....that's another story, love my hot chocolate.

My first exciting stop was at Pine City Scrapbooks. Love that store :)
I picked up these goodies :)
I was a bit sad as there was a stamp I wanted that was sold out last time I was there.
They got new ones, but they were sold out again :(
But they did order me one and will ship it to me :)
Now that's customer service :)

We enjoyed our dinner at the Red Lobster. Its a good thing we don't have one of these at home, or I would be there tooo often.
Yummy.
Good thing is I have lots of leftovers, so guess what I'm going to do after I finish up this post, teehee.
Funny Story: Kristy dropped a crouton on the floor during dinner. It bounced in my flip flop and got lodged in between my foot and shoe.  Now what are the chances of that.
















I also got a nice shopping spree in Scrapbookers Too.
The owner is so friendly and likes to chat to her customers :)
She even pulled these new paper packs out of the boxes for me to take a peek at. I was only looking for the All Hallow's Eve, but couldn't resist these other beauties :)















I also picked up these dies. I am really excited to use these doily dies :)





















And lastely from the same store I picked up these cute stamps and buttons.
I never seem to use brads or buttons on my cards and projects, to thought I would try something different ;)





















I then stopped at Joanns and the Archivers in Apple Valley.
I was a bit put off at this store because the whole time I was in there, the one sales lady kept a watch on me. She didn't greet me, she didn't ask if I needed any help,she just kept watch on me no matter where I was in the store.  When I did go to pay, she was friendly enough, but still not a nice shopping experience.

I have more goodies to share with you from today, but I will save those photos for tomorrow.
We are going to Mall of America in the morning and I am sure spending the whole day there (ummmm Crepes :). The big Scrapfest is going on (we didn't realize that, when we booked time off) so I am sure that the crafty supplies are going to be slim pickin's.

Its not all about the money

Remember this book I made last year for a swap?
Well, I was on Pinterest today and came across someone selling one very similar to mine for $199.00   Can you believe it!!!!!
I have been asked if I could make a few as some people wanted to buy the finished album, but I declined, as I want to keep my craft a passion not a business...well so far anyway, teehee.
For years (like 25) I had wanted to go into a craft show. I had even made crafts for it. But I never did put myself out there.
My daughters think I am silly for not selling my works. But sometimes its not all about the money :)

Is anyone heading to Mall of America this weekend for their big Scrapfest?
I am heading to Mall of America this weekend, but didn't know Scrapfest was being held on This weekend.
We are going on our yearly Fall family mini vacation.  
I am thinking it is going to be crazy and that Archivers is going to be out of a lot of products.
Not that I need anything after my last trip there ;)  
But I am sure that's not going to keep me from finding some goodies to buy ;)

Redonkulous DT Day ---Floral Heart

Today is Redonkulous Design Team Day !!!!
I really love this digital image, Floral Heart Sentiment Package. It comes with 14 different sentiments and one image that is blank to add your own sentiment.

Sadly I  made this card out of necessity.
A family friend of ours, Mother passed away and I wanted to send them a card.
These types of cards are so hard to make.

Because this card is pretty simple, as I didn't add any embellishments, I added some dimension with foam tape.
I coloured this pretty image with my Copic and Stampin' Up markers.

As always I used the left over paper for the inside as well as a index/recipe card.
The red line on the recipe card just didn't look right, so I used a black marker to cover it.

Just a reminder that Redonkulous is having its first Challenge!!!
The theme of the Challenge is Celebration :)
