XOXO Card

Its getting to be that time ;)
When I was at my crop "Scrap for Heart" the other weekend. There was a little card kit in our intro packs.
In the kit were the papers, the 2 foam hearts and a mini clothes pin with a tiny heart on it.
While I was contemplating what I was going to work on next (I think I spend more time doing that then actually working, lol) I thought I would put together this little card.

The mini clothes pin fell apart so I just used the heart off of it..I put it on the two foam hearts.
Out of my stash I added the "Adore" ticket, after I inked it of course ;)
I also added from my supplies the red heart dress pin.
The size of the card is 3 1/2x4 1/4.

Money shot...since I know you like them Becky ;)

They had even stamped and punched out the heart shape, that I had added to the inside.
I added the decorative tape on the bottom.
This was a quick, fun card to put together.
I thought it was really sweet that it was included in our intro. package.

Onto My Day:
I had so many great plans for today.
How many did I complete...none.
Well I did clean and dust the kitchen, so at least I feel like I accomplished something.

Proud Tuesday:
I have been loosing the poundage that I had gained during Wayne's and my Anniversary getaway.
Even though I didn't over eat (besides the corn puffs ;)  it just goes to show, that eating in restaurants is not good for you.

I hope you all had a creative Tuesday :)

I'm Toxic ;)

Bet you were thinking I was Britany Spears for a second eh? Teehee.
Nope...
I had to go for my MUGA scan today.
I have heart disease..it runs in my family.
My grandfather passed away from a massive heart attack at the age of 34.
Both my parents had heart attacks at the age of 50.
My older brother had a heart attack at age 42
I found out I had heart disease when I was in my 30's.

Thankfully I was diagnosed with it on a routine visit and have been well taken care of by my doctors.
So almost every year I go for a Muga scan.
I need to get two injections.
One of them has radioactive material.
If I cross the border into the U.S (in the next 2 days), I have to get a note from the hospital to explain this procedure as I could set alarms off. Thankfully that has never happened, teehee.
But it would have made for a funny blog post ;)

After I get my second injection I have to go in this machine to get a moving picture of my heart.
This takes a little over a half hour.
The top part of the machine comes down..almost touching my nose.
Funny as when I had this done last year, I nodded off, lol.
I twitched and thought I ruined the test...but nope they said it was fine :)

This is what I woke up to today.
Isn't it beautiful.
As much as I am looking so forward to Spring, how can I not enjoy this scene.

Onto My Day:
Kristy and I did some running around.
While we were out my engine light came on in my jeep.
I just re-started it and it was good.
When I came home I noticed some antifreeze in the driveway...but where Ashley parks.
Then I get a text from her that her engine light is on...what the heck.
Later I moved the jeep for Wayne to plow the driveway and noticed some antifreeze where I park my jeep.
I have no idea what is going on.... weird though.

When Ashley came home for lunch, she had pointed out the driveway needs to be shoveled as she had a bit of trouble leaving the driveway.
I just said, we have a snowblower and a plow on the truck...there is no way I am shoveling the driveway.
So we just waited for Wayne to come home to plow it ;)

Hope you all had a creative Monday :)
I have something creative to share with you tomorrow...a little love on the way ;)

I got rid of my paper scraps...oh my

Yes you read that title correctly.
I got rid of my scraps. And it is so freeing :)
If you remember this was one of my goals for the new year.
I have so many scraps (not only my scraps but my SIL's are here as well)  and I feel guilty cutting into my new papers until I use up my scraps.
If you also remember I made two gift sets of 12 cards each with my scraps.
Scrap card set 1

Scrap card set 2

Here is how I store my scraps.
I store them in this hanging legal sized file folder.
Each colour has its own coordinating file folder, as well as a tag in the matching colour for even an easier view of the colours.

This is the perfect way I store my scraps...but the only thing I don't like is the little metal tabs on the hanging files, I snag my ol' lady sweater or even my pant leg.
And when that happens...its not a pretty sight or sound....as it makes me say things that shouldn't come out of a lady's mouth ;)

I have seen the file folder holders that are encased...but only for the standard paper sizes not the legal sizes, and I want the legal sizes as they fit a 12" strip of paper.
I though of putting the file case in a box...but couldn't find the perfect box.
Then a brilliant idea came to me...yes I get a few of them.
If it fits in a bag, then not only will that solve my problem, but it will also be portable :)
I take my scraps everywhere, and encourage everyone who scraps with me to use them.
So I am very happy with this...plus I had the bag already so it was free...which is also great :)

I had a few requests for my Taco Salad recipe.
So being lazy as I am, I took a picture of it ;)
I do change a few things...
1. I don't use a full package of taco seasoning.
2. You have to mix the first 3 ingredients.
3. I don't use the celery as my family doesn't care for it.
4. I also don't use a whole head of lettuce...maybe a quarter of it.
5. We use a big bottle of salsa.
Tip...if you don't eat it all in one day, then when you put it in the fridge, put it on a bit of a slant so the liquids pool away from the dip and you can scoop the liquids out the next day.
Tip #2 I chop all the veggie very fine. When I do the tomatoes I blot them with a paper towel.

Onto My Day:
My day consisted of the Walking Dead, computer and sitting on my arse all day, lol.
So excited for the new show tonight :)

Oh one more thing...I haven't been resizing my photos.
Last year they had stated that I had ran out of space on my Picasa, so I had to re-size them under 800 pixels.
I forgot to re-size them one day and they still went up..so I haven't re-sized any for the last few days...just thought I would share :)

I hope you had all had a creative Sunday :)

Taco Dip and Walkers

Today I was so excited, because Wayne, Heather and I are having a Walking Dead marathon :)
I was going to work on my Project 365 as we watched our show.
But sadly I have no pages to show you, as I didn't work on anything.
I ended up making a taco dip and we started to watch the show.

Short post tonight, as I am still enjoying the Walking Dead and eating my dip :)
What is on the agenda for tomorrow...more of the same, lol.

I hope you have all had a creative Saturday :)

Happy Mail from Becky :)

Whats not to smile about happy mail :)

I do Project 365, not project life.
Whats the difference you may ask...nothing really, except I have never purchased the kit.
Plus I started it because my daughter and husband did it...they are photographers and that is where they got the idea from. They didn't journal though...I do.
Then I heard about project life.

Well my friend Becky is doing Project Life.
She had some left over cards from her kit from last year and offered to send them to me.
I wanted to know what all the hoop-la was about so of course I didn't turn her down ;)

Well I was blown away when I opened her package not only to find A LOT of journaling cards, but also all these goodies as well :)

I picked the package up on the other side of the border as Wayne and I were headed to our getaway.
I couldn't wait, so I opened the box up with a pair of nail clippers, lol.
Thank you so much Becky you are such a sweetie :)
Onto My Day:
We took Rose to the vet to get her sugars checked out and they were fine :)
So that is good.
We still don't know why she was so sick, but she is back to her demanding self once again...just how we like it ;)
I spent the rest of the day picking up Kristy, bringing her for lunch, visiting Wayne then Ashley when they came home for lunch and tidying up a bit.
I live such a glamorous life don't I  ;)

I hope you all have a creative Friday :)
Tonight is Friday Night Scrapbooking, so I will be creating tonight :)

Altered Mini Composition Note Book

Here is my first altered Composition Note Book.
This is one of those tiny composition note books.

Sorry about the blurry photo, but I am really happy with it.
Now that may sound odd, but let me explain.
I totally forgot to take a photo of this project. I had made the video and then quickly mailed it away.

Those that know me, know that I am computer and technically illiterate.
So imagine my surprise when I discovered I could pause my video on my phone.
And then take a photo of the frozen video.
And then email it to myself.
I am so clever, lol.
Especially since Kristy pointed out earlier today that I was taking screeen shots of my photos from my phone and sending them to myself...and I didn't need to do that, lol.

Here is a short video showing more of this note book and the inside pages :)

Onto My Day:
I had a dentist appointment this morning...no cavities ;)
Spent the rest of the morning chatting with some friends..I guess I was missed when Wayne and I were away ;)

Thankful Thursday:
I am thankful that Rose is feeling better and seems to be her demanding self again :)
I am thankful I got to see Ashley and Wayne at lunch today :)
I am thankful that I got to drive Kristy to school and pick her up some hot Apple Cider for her sore throat on our way there.
I am thankful that Wayne and I enjoyed our Anniversary getaway

What are you thankful for today ?

I hope you all had a creative Thursday :)

Home Sweet Home

When Wayne and I came home from our Anniversary getaway, my SIL, Janice, came by and brought us some treats a card and this "25th Anniversary" glass with a rose in it.
She told me it has been passed around to many couples who have celebrated their 25th Anniversary.
I was so touched that she included Wayne and I in her tradition.

I thought I would share with you my dinner from last night (since you all drool over my food photos, teehee).
This was the best chicken meal I have ever eaten...I will not being eating these rich, delicious foods for awhile...back to the healthy eating now.
The chicken was called Roasted chicken with mascarpone and lingonberry cream.  Ohhh it was so goooood.

Our last fire. We kept it burning most of the night.
I love me a fire.

Remember my Anniversary card from yesterday?
When I showed it to Heather she had said to me "Why does dad look like Dean?"
If you know me then you know I enjoy Supernatural....really enjoy Supernatural,...but more so, I enjoy watching Dean (Jensen Ackles).
It is Heather's and my show, only her and I watch it together.
I thought it was pretty funny that she pointed it out.

I hope you all had a creative Wednesday :)
