There is nothing like eating some cool watermelon on a warm summers day.
It is a warm one here today….33c/90f.
I know watermelon is a healthy snack…but is it still with this much fruit dip on it….this much with every bite, lol
We are heading to the cottage soon and I hear tomorrow is suppose to be a hot one.
So I may even take a dip in the lake…or laze around on my air mattress.
I hope you all have a great weekend, and I will post my "Day in Photos" on tomorrows post :)

Flower time
Today was filled with more wedding prep.
What am I going to do with myself when Ashley and Tyler are married, teehee.
Ashley and I are doing (almost) everything ourselves.
This includes all of the florals.
So today I started on the boutonniere's for the men.
I made 3 samples for Ashley to check out to see which one she likes the most.
She picked the simplest one…even though it wasn't the simplest one to make, lol.
I made 3 and will complete them tomorrow…..hopefully.
Heather worked in the morning and had the rest of the day off, so later in the afternoon, her and I went to the movies :)
Cute movie….Heather and I love animated movies :)
I hope you all had a very creative day.

More Dress Shopping and an Ice Cream
Today I went dress shopping with Karen again.
So lets go Dress Shopping shall we ;)
I tried on this long dress..I love the colour, but it just seemed like too much fabric.
I thought this one was really pretty.
I love the lace over the pale pink…but the under colour was close to Ashley's bridesmaids, so decided against it.
I like this one as well….if you notice all of the dresses would need to be hemmed as well as altered in the waste…..I had so many clamps on all of these dresses…I don't think I use that many when I am doing my wood working, teehee.
Nahhh, do not like this one at all…but I was game to try anything on ;)
This one was Tyler's moms favourite.
Karen is the one pulling and clamping the dress behind me ;)
It was a gorgeous dress….but I think I would need to be over 6 ft tall and very very thin, lol.
Karen hates her photo taken…good thing she doesn't know I have a blog, teehee.
Here she wanted to know what the dress looked like if it was shortened.
I felt like it was just too much dress for me and I looked like I got into my moms clothes and played dress up, lol.
Didn't like this one either….the ruffle, looks like it makes my hips look too wide.
One thing I loved about dress shopping with Karen, besides she is so fun to be around, is she keeps telling me what a beautiful tiny figure I have and we should show it off, lol.
Karen and I went for lunch before we parted ways, and then later on Heather and I went for an ice-cream.
I had New York style cheese cake ice cream…oh my goodness it was delicious.
I only had a kiddie sized ice-cream….I got to keep my tiny figure, teehee.
I did purchase a dress today though.
I will share it that after the wedding…..because, believe me, there is a great story to it :)
I hope you enjoyed shopping with me today :)

Dress Shopping and some Popcorn
My plan this week was to go into detail on all of the Bridal Shower projects I did.
But that didn't happen as I am finally getting around to shopping for my dress for Ashley's wedding.
But I did have time to take Kristy out to buy this popcorn maker she has had her eye on.
It sure didn't take long to cook the pop corn.
I am not one for popcorn as the kernel husks always get caught in the back of my throat.
I do love the smell of pop corn though.
Most of my day was spent shopping for the dress…I don't think I have found the perfect one though…..but thought I would share one that is in the top pick.
I do love the lace overlay on this one.
The dress fit nicely, but the bust was a bit too tight, plus I didn't want blue…mind you every dress I tried on seemed to be in blue, lol.
I am also not sure about the top sheer piece.
I really should have edited my face out of the photos, lol.
This one was a nice fit, but I didn't like the very thin straps…I need a bra, and the kind I wear……these straps won't cut it, lol.
I was really nervous about dress shopping, but Ashley's fiancĂ©'s mom, Karen, wanted to come along…and it was so much more fun and relaxing :)
So tomorrow is another dress shopping day…..wish me luck.

A Peek into Ashley's Bachelorette Party.
Ashley had her bachelorette party yesterday :)
Her maid of honour was a great party planner.
Of course I wasn't there, but I nabbed some photos from my girls :)
Here is the cake that they had…pretty cute eh?
It tasted good, as I got to try some as they had leftovers, yum.
Lia make these cute glasses for the girls.
There were lots of activities.
They went on a scavenger hunt to all of the places of meaning to Ashley and Tyler.
They went to Lia's mom's house and enjoyed the day in her pool…love the decorating Lia :)
Then back to Ashleys house for dinner, drinks, games and a fire.
Now doesn't that look like a great evening…..wish I was there.
I hope you all had a creative Day :)

My Day in Photos….cottage edition
Another beautiful day at the cottage….but then again any day here is a beautiful day :)
We started our day with a very long quad ride.
Checked out some new roads and trails…..we did this last weekend as well.
There are so many bush roads and old logging trails..it is easy to get lost, if you're not careful.
Wayne has been in this area before…he said you used to be able to drive on the culvert pipes, which were covered with dirt, but the water washed them away…you can see a bit of one at the edge of the photo.
Here is Wayne's RZR and my quad is behind his.
We got off and did a bit of walking around to enjoy the view of the water.
Wayne cut some brush on one of our regular trails.
I rode along with him, and then got out and did a walk.
These Moccasin Flowers are kind of sparse, so when Joy (my FIL's wife) or I see one, we get a bit excited.
Beauty is all around you here.
Even in the middle of the forest there is beauty, amongst dead fallen trees, beautiful flowers grow.
I saw this mushroom and was surprised on how big it was.
Look at those tiny bites eaten from it :)
When I saw this mushroom, I had a chuckle, as I can just picture a little field mouse sitting on top of the mushroom, nibbling on it, teehee.
Then it was back on the quads for another ride :)
I can not believe how close I got to this bunny.
I also saw a partridge and its babies crossing one of the trails in front of us.
Another bunny actually ran beside my quad as I was driving….too funny.
Here is another old logging trail/road we rode on.
I understand logging and why it is done….but what I don't understand is the waste.
These piles (and they are all over, on many roads) are the waste or the trees that didn't make the cut.
It just makes me sad that these can't be used.
Another wonderful, fun and relaxing time at the cottage….time for a sauna now ;)
Hope you all had a very creative and relaxing day :)

Bridal Shower card and some Canada Fun
Here is the card I made for Ashley for her Bridal Shower.
I love this stamp, but this is the first time I have ever used it.
I coloured the image with my Copic markers.
A simple card, but I like the feminine look to it.
Canada Day Evening, I was lucky enough to enjoy some fireworks from the comfort of my living room.
Some neighbour, a couple blocks over, had a wonderful fireworks display going on :)
It was awesome!!!!
Thank you unknown neighbour ;)
As Wayne and I were enjoying the fireworks show.
Heather, Kristy, Blake were over at Ashley's and Tyler's enjoying a fire in her new fire pit :)
I am sure a few toasted marshmallows were consumed :)
Onto My Day:
I worked in my a couple of my flower beds today…that was until the rain and thunder brought me inside.
Almost all of my plants I had planted last year, didn't make it this year :(
My Hosta plants are so small, they could have easily been missed if I didn't mark them.
I located them to a different flower bed hoping that the change in sunlight will perk them up.
I took everything else out of the beds (as most everything were weeds) and will go to the Garden Center to see what will work better in my flower beds.
I hope you all had a very Creative Day :)
