Happy Canada Day and more creating

First off I have to wish all my Canadian friends near and far a very Happy Canada Day :)
Most businesses were closed today, except for Wayne's company as they decided to take yesterday off and make a long weekend out of it :)
I love that the stores here in Canada close for special days :)

This is a card I had made a couple of years ago when I was on the Redonkulous Design team :)
Coloured this image up with my copic markers.

I am in a monthly card challenge with Pea from Whimsical Endevors.
We come up with a few challenges or elements that we have to put on our card, or type of card we make.
June's challenges were….
-make a garden themed card with a garden image
-make a criss cross card
-use embossing powder
-add a recipe to the card.
I love this paper. I had picked it up about 15+ years ago. Designed by Debbie Mumm.
I love folk art, and Debbie Mumm is one of my favourite artists, I have made a few quilts out of her fabrics.
I used a real plant stick, adhered some pattern paper to it and the "grow" tag.
I also popped up the mini plant signs that are in the paper.

Because the image was to big for the front of the card…..and I didn't want to cover up this pretty paper, I put the image by Mo Manning to the inside file of the card.
The sentiment is one I have on a garden angel I had made for my own garden many years ago and I thought it was fitting for this card.
"May all your weeds be wild flowers".

Here are both parts of the card together.
You may ask where the embossing powder is?
I honestly forgot about that, I use a stamp on the backs of my cards, I just happened to emboss that stamp ;)
Also the recipe I just popped into the card. I didn't want to adhere it to the card, as she may want to use it and put it in her recipe book or file.
The recipe I had included was my recipe for "Impossible Pie". I used a image of a girl holding a pie on the recipe card.

I also made a video of this card in more detail.

Not only was Wayne's business open but so was the movie theatre :)
So my daughters and I went to the movies tonight :)
Heather, Ashley and I all read the book "A Fault in our Stars" so Heather wanted us all to go together to watch it. Great book and a great movie.
But the little wieners (being my daughters) wouldn't let me take a photo of us all.

I hope you all had a very Creative Day :)

Butterfly & Vintage Criss Cross cards

I forgot to share these criss cross cards I had made last week.
I made them to go with my swap, did a video, but didn't want to share them until the recipients received them, then forgot to post.

I just love this paper, isn't it just so pretty.
Because this paper is so pretty, I didn't want to cover it up.
So I punched a couple of butterflies out of blue card stock.
I then added some dew drops (I think that is what they are called) to the bodies of the butterflies.
I love how they pick up the colours of the paper beneath them and magnify it.

This card is for a swap I was in with a gentleman. So because of this, I kept it simple.
I used some Tim Holtz papers as they are great for masculine or vintage cards.
I used a veneer typewriter which I inked with distress ink.
I then stamped on this tiny piece of paper and fed it through the opening of the typewriter.

Yup, you read that right, I did a video with a bit more detail on these cards :)

My friend Debbie and I did a good walk today :)
We did a second lap around the golf course tonight.
It was a bit warm out tonight, but we had a great 2 hour walk…we even did a bit of jogging. When I say a bit..I mean a bit, lol.

Keep Creative my friends :)

Tracy :)
