Thinking Wood Mount Stamp Storage....

As you know, I have organized my clear/cling stamps :)
Now the problem I have is, how am I going to store my wood mount stamps.
I was thinking of un-mounting my smaller stamps, like the $1.50 ones from Michael's.
If I was to do that, I would store them with my clear/cling stamps.
But I have so many wood mount stamps that I would like to leave on the wood.

As I was looking for ways to store my wood mount stamps I came across some very interesting ways others have stored theirs.
This is one of those nuts and bolts holders.
Isn't this such a neat idea :)

Then I had seen this, which is another neat idea. But honestly I don't think this would work for me, as I would have to open containers, then containers to find the stamp I want. I know, for me this wouldn't work.

Then there is this idea...which I think I may actually do.
I don't remember if I had seen someone else store their stamps this way, or if I thought of it.
Does that ever happen to you????
I will think of something then wonder...did I see this somewhere or did I think of it just before I fell asleep, lol.
I looked all over the web and couldn't find a photo, so use your imagination.
I would replace the inks with my stamps...plus this holder has more pockets on the other side ;)
Not sure if this is big enough though.

I have also seen where border trim was attached to the wall like thin shelves, to display the stamps on. Of course I can't find a photo to share with you, but this one is similar to it.
I like that idea, as I would be able to see each stamp.

I was even thinking of making a holder like I did for my distress inks . But am thinking the stamps may be to heavy though, as it is just foam core. Check out my distress ink storage HERE.

After so many years of creating I know what may or may not work for me.

1. I am a flipper...not a page turner ;)
2. I need to see my supplies in order to use them.
3. I need my products to be put "like with like"
4. I hate to search for what I need.

Future card

I so wanted to create today....but...I only could manage to create in my head ;)
I did come up with a cool card idea.
I purchased this stamp many months ago and can you believe I haven't even inked it up yet.
I think this fun pack that Becky sent me will be perfect with my funky steampunk stamp ;)

Onto My Day:
This cold is still winning the fight right now.
I tried the Vicks vapor rub on the bottoms of my feet and put on my socks before bed.....only thing that accomplished was hot feet ;)
I tried the honey with cinnamon in my tea... the only thing that accomplished was awful tasting tea.
I will stick to tea and honey, rest and a hot bath, lol.

I tried to lay low most of the day....but I was restless. So I ended up cleaning the house.
Even though Heather kept on bugging me about going for a nap.
So I took her advice later in the afternoon I went for a nice long nap :)

You are my Sunshine Card

Did you know we  are a week into March already!!!!
One thing I have noticed with me being Retired. Is that the months kind of run into each other.
When I worked, I would have to bill the customers at the end of the month and then balance month end.
It was like the period at the end of the sentence.
Well I don't have to balance so its like my month doesn't end.
Don't get me wrong, I am definitely not complaining ;)

I put a card together tonight. It took me about an hour.
You would think that it was a quick card to make.
But the image was already coloured, the tree was cut out and the scallop circle was a left over piece from my last card, lol.
I thought the large circle looks like the sun :)
I had the black scallop already cut and placed it there, then thought ohhh I need some yellow. Then looked in the paper pack and there was some pattern paper with this circle pattern on it..bonus ;)

I had coloured this image months ago.
My friend Sybil was having a challenge and I was going to join.
Actually I was going to put in 4 cards, one for each season, as her challenge was to make a card for your favourite season...well I didn't make the deadline :(
The tree is a die cut. I trimmed the branches so as not to interfere with this cute girl, who I coloured with my Copics :)





















I see I need to change my blade on my paper trimmer.
I swear those blades don't last as long as they used to.

I am still battling with my cold.
So nice to answer the phone and my family or friends on the other side tell me I sound like crap....I am so loved, lol.
I am soothing my throat with some hot tea with honey. I don't normally drink tea, but do enjoy it when I'm not feeling my best.
Hopefully Tink. will help me feel like myself tomorrow :)

















Onto My Day:
I didn't do much.
Napped and caught up on my emails.
And got Heather to make lasagna for dinner.

Defunkifying my Life....Mission 13 Stamp Organization

Today I was going to recap the defunkifying missions from last week, and then re-post the ones from last year to re-visit.

Then I remembered, oh I have share with you my Stamp Organization that I have been working on last week and all weekend.
Yup..It is complete and happy about it :)
Doesn't this look so nice, neat and organized...it just makes me smile :)

 

 Hard to believe that this mess is now all neat and tidy isn't it.
I find it hard to believe that all these stamps fit into these containers.
See how when something is so nicely organized the space you can make :)
Plus I took all the wood mount stamps out of this area as well ;)


I put my stamps in 4 categories.
1.Seasonal.
  this container holds all my Christmas, Valentines, Birthday, Father's Day.....you get the picture ;)
2. Vintage and Art Journal
  this container houses my vintage, journal spots, background stamps.
3. Words and Letters
  this contains my words/phrases and letters
4. Floral and outdoors
  this one holds any flowers, fairy stamps, trees and anything pertaining to the outdoors.

I think this will work for me :)
I can not tell you how happy to have this all done.
My living room is back to its normal function....for now ;)


I put together a video with a bit more detail on how I have organized and am storing my cling mount stamps.
I was going to do the video at a later day...due to my cold making me sound dippy....but I figured no one would know the difference anyway, lol.


Now onto organizing my wood mount stamps....but I think I will take a bit of an organizing break and maybe create something tomorrow :)

More Stamp Organization...when will it end ;)

I am soooo happy to announce that I have completed my clear stamp storage :)
Unless of course I find an odd one here or there....I wouldn't be surprised ;)


Now that, that is done, I am working on my red rubber stamps.
Not only am I a procrastinator, but I am also lazy.
See these stamps that I am backing with the Ez Mount. I have used them many times, but have used them without the mounting foam.
Thanks Phillane....she gifted me these gorgeous stamps...probably a year ago...see told you I was lazy ;)

When mounting my rubber stamps on the sticky EZ mount, I use a heat knife to cut the foam. I can get really nice and close to the stamps.

I had a few other stamps to do as well ;)
I also mounted the $1.50 wood blocked stamps that I took the blocks from, for my distress tools.
Here they are all mounted on the foam now.
Tomorrow I will hopefully be working on a video on how I organized my stamps.
I am also thinking of unmounting more of my wood mounted stamps.
It will save me so much more space.

Onto My Day:
Besides driving Kristy to work for 7:00am and picking her up at 1:00. I stayed home all day working on my stamp organization.
I drove Kristy this morning as Wayne and I both have a cold, he has had his longer then I have. Plus he drives her every weekend.

 We even ordered in for supper ;)
Wayne wanted to go and get some groceries, but I didn't want to leave the house today. 
Plus I was on a roll with these stamps. And want to move on to something else.

Sushi, video and a cake :)

Tonight we took the family out to celebrate Heather's birthday.
Her 22nd birthday was last Wednesday, but we were having family over for cake that night, so we didn't think we would have time to go out for supper first.
In our family when it's your birthday, you get to pick the restaurant you want to have your birthday dinner at.
Heather picked Wasabi for sushi....it was good ;)

Ashley found a new app for her phone, so Kristy and her have been having a blast making stop motion videos

Wayne has been fighting with his allergies for the last week :(
Well I woke up last night with a sore throat. I think I have a cold.
So maybe Wayne isn't just suffering from allergies...and brought home a cold ;(
Today was pretty low key day today.

Kristy made her friend Allison a cake for her birthday :)

I am still working on my stamps organization/storage.
I am so close to completing my clear stamps.  Next is the red rubber...lastly my wood mounted stamps.
I will hopefully be able to share my clear stamp storage tomorrow....but I'm not making any promises.

Oh ya and about that card challenge I did yesterday...I still can't post my project on their site.

MFT card sketch challenge.

One of my goals this year (along with the 100's of others) is to try my hand at some more sketches and to join a few challenges.
Today I decided to try my hand at a sketch that MFT (My Favorite Things) put on.
I used this adorable Pure Innocence image called Making a List.
I also used the paper pack called Sunny Side by Pebbles.
Some black cardstock the I punched out with my Martha Stewart punch.

And here is why I think I'm a photographer, lol.
I popped up the image with some dimensionals.
The sentiment tag was from a stamp set the my friend Marlene gave me :)

I am a bit rusty with my colouring as I have been focusing on organizing my supplies lately, instead of creating with them.
See the pretty jewel I put in her hair....ya that was a cover up, lol.
I coloured it blue and did not like that colour on her. So I wanted to cover it up ;)

Onto My Day:
After dropping Kristy off at school I picked up a cake pan. Kristy is making her friend a birthday cake. Told you, Kristy enjoys making cakes for her family and friends.
I ran to the border to pick up my markers (remember some of the Distress markers that I ordered were dried out). Ashley order a really pretty blouse as well.
Sharon, Heather and Kristy came along with me. We went for lunch then went to pick up the parcels.
They couldn't find either Ashley or my parcel.
I wasn't sure if mine was in...but Ashley's was in last month.
They finally found it, but it took 3 people. They didn't charge me for holding it :)
Tonight was scrapbooking Friday, so had some of my ladies over to create.
