Winter Fun Tag

I was asked it I had wanted to join a tag swap hosted by my friend Stephanie.
Stephanie usually put on art journal challenges for each other, but we kind of slacked on this last year.
My friend Debbie and I decided to join in!!!
The theme was "Winter in Thunder Bay" and was to be created with our mixed medium supplies.
When I first heard the theme, I thought of skating because I loved to skate as a young girl and taught myself some pretty awesome moves, teehee.

 Here is my completed tag.
I used a white tag and used a tree stencil and used distress ink for the background.
I then used a stencil with tiny dots and added glass bead gel to make the tiny snowflakes.
I wanted to add some stars as I enjoyed skating at night...but I didn't have some....but figured it is art, so I made the wood veneer snowflakes into my stars :)
Lastly I added the 1/2 crystals to the background.

I also used Wink of Stella on the ice.
It is hard to see in this photo, but it is there.

Copic was having a colour challenge.
It was to use only 3 colours.
This month the colours were BV02, B91 and V17.
Besides her hair and skin colour those are the only 3 colours I used on this adorable Angie Blom image from her Angiegirl collection.
I LOVE her images.

Here is my completed tag.
Guess what....I also did a process video on how I made this tag!!
It has been awhile since I did a process video.

Thank you so much for coming to visit me on my blog today.
I hope you all have a very Creative Day :)

SCT Sampler

I am not one to purchase surprise bags as I like to know what I am getting for my money.
But when Scrapbook & Cards Today came out with a (new to me) concept I decided to give it a try.
It is called SCT Sampler.
What it is, is a "samples" of new products.
You know how we almost never use up a whole package of embellishments...so what they are doing are sending out samples of product...neat idea right?!

SCT puts on the Crop & Create events (crop). It is the highlight of me and my friends crafty year.
I have purchased many, many, many kits from them and am always blown away by the amount of supplies I get in each kit.
So knew I wouldn't be disappointed with this.

This is what I saw when I first opened up my package 💗
How sweet is this to see!!
It put a smile on my face.

A few of my friends also purchased these and we got a few different items.
I love my note book💗
And this stamp...adorable!!!!  The stamp also came with the die to cut out the skaters!!
I did a video on everything that I received in my kit.
If you would rather watch it on my YouTube channel, here is my link "Tracy's Treasures24"

If you are interested in this kit for the upcoming months, you can check it out here https://scrapbookandcards.com/sct-sampler/

I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Who doesn't love organizing?!!

I think I need a change.
When I made this desk and organized it, I loved it.
But now I am realizing that I don't have enough room on my desk to spread out (which I usually do when I create...believe me).
What I have been doing is bringing my projects in the rec-room and working on my pool/craft table.
But then end up going from the rec-room to my craft room to get supplies and not always putting them away.
I want to mostly work in my craft room, unless I have my friends over, then we always craft on the big pool/craft table.
This photo is an older one, from when I had just put my desk together and when it was actually clean 😯

In order to make more room on my desk...everything had to come off.
Then to figure out what I want to put on my desk, if anything.
I decided to keep my Copics on my desk. I don't seem to colour as much anymore and I miss it. I figured if I had them front and center on my table, maybe I would colour more.
I also added my tool carousel, or spiny thing as I call it, as it houses so many tools.
Look how much more room I have now!!

I then decided to should go through my spiny thing and clean it out and pair down my tools.
Like seriously, how many pens does one person need!!
Ok, ok, we need a lot of pens, but I don't need them all to be in my spiny thing.

After cleaning off my desk again, I added my paper trimmer as I use that a lot as well as my scrap tin and a candle as I knew cleaning out this room is going to take a long time, so I might as well enjoy a relaxing scent while I'm at it.

I then decided to tackle my stamping area.
I don't actually stamp here, but I store all of my inks, embossing powders and stamping supplies here.
I still need to organize my tag tray you see there...it is a mess.

Last job for the evening was my inks.
I hadn't labeled all of my inks, so figured I might as well complete the task and finish labeling them all.

Oh right, I also organized all of my letters for my Letter Boards into a container.
I am really happy with my progress so far on my room....but I have so much more to do.

I am going through my whole room and decluttering what I don't need, which is difficult for me as I bought most of what is in there for a purpose (at one time).
I do find it easier to gift my friends my supplies...as a matter of fact, I just gifted one of my friends 2 full muti-coloured ink pads and I am happy that she wanted them :)

I will share me progress as I go along.
I was going to do a messy room video....but I think I have more of those than of organized room videos, teehee.

Hope you all have a very Creative day :)

Happy Retirement

My husband has retired!!!!
I retired 5 yrs ago...but he decided to stay working for another 5 yrs for the company that bought our company.
I made him this card and our family all signed it...then we took the whole family out to the Keg for a celebration dinner.
My honey is not one for big whoop de doos, so we kept the celebration simple.
After dinner we all came back home and gave him his gifts.

The next day Wayne and I drove down to the Bluefin Bay Resort to celebrate and bring in the New Year.
We love it there...but what is not to love, beautiful waves, a room with a giant Jacuzzi tub and a fire place...ahhhhhh.

I took a little walk to get these photos...it was so cold, but worth it.

I can never get a good picture of Wayne and I.
We will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary next month, and I hardly have any good pictures of the 2 of us, and the ones I do are usually blurry, lol.

I wanted to a picture of the other side of the lake, so took another walk.
Thought this was a trail, but after getting snagged in the brush and jumping over snow covered rocks realized it was an animal trail, not a walking trail, lol.

This is what happens when you leave a pop can in -47c temps.
Wayne's case of pop tore open as he was putting it in the jeep....seems he forgot one, lol.

Luckily it was in the back seat cup holder.
I tried to scrape it off, but it was frozen on there.

I decided to get the wood for our fire and was to lazy to put my boots on.....Hardy Northerner in her flip flops gathering wood in -47c temps...it was cold!!!

We did go to Duluth and do some shopping, but I will share that in another post ;)

Hope you all have a Creative Day :)

My Christmas Planner

I know Christmas is over, but it is never to late to plan for next year :)
I received this beautiful DayTimer planner from my daughters last year as a Christmas gift.
I knew exactly what I was going to do with it too.
A Christmas Planner!!!
I didn't need the date inserts, but I did want to use the monthly dividers.
But before we get into the details....lets talk about how I plan for the holidays.

I love notebooks and have many.
But noticed to get ready for the holiday's I had to get these and other books together.
I had a journal for my gift lists.
I had a book for keep a record or Christmas cards I send and received.
I had my recipes in my recipe books.
I had lists and revised lists and revised lists of the revised lists...well, you get the idea.
I really needed to fine stream my organizing method and the Christmas planner was the answer and oh so pretty.

Remember I mentioned that I kept the 12 monthly dividers?
I covered them with my hoarded pretty Christmas papers and made some new divider tabs.
Here is how I labeled each tab and what it consists of.
1. Schedule: My Todo's for the days in December.
2. Winter Wonderland: Outside Decorating
3. Deck the Halls: Inside Decorating
4. Holiday Traditions: What we do every December to enjoy the season more.
5. Card Addresses: Page above with my Addresses and who I send Christmas cards to.
6. Movies: Christmas movies we have and enjoy watching.
7. Feast: Prepping for a Turkey meal. What I need and how I do it. I also use this section for anytime we have a turkey meal.
8. Novels: Every December I read a sappy Christmas novel...it's just one of my traditions :) So I list the books I have to read and check them off when I do.
9. New Years: We host a New Years party (drop in). So what my plans are for that day.
10. Clean Up: Lists of what is packed where.
11. Gift List: My gift lists and stocking stuffers
12. So far 12 is blank.

I then added notes for each section.
I like that is it a ring binder, because then I can add pages as I need them.

This section is for addresses for my  Christmas cards and who I sent to and who I received from.
I used the lists from the book I had, but redrew the lines and used my lable maker for the titles.
I am sure anyone can do this with any knowledge of the computer...me, I find it easier to just draw it and use the photo copier to make multiple copies.

I found this cute gift list HERE.
I just played with it so I could have the lists on both sides of the paper and room for the binder holes.

This planner has pockets and zippers and places for notepads.
Now all of my bit and pieces fit into this Christmas planner :)
I love how it turned out and it really helped with my planning this past Christmas!!

You know I just had to go into more detail than a blog post could fit, so I made a video so you can see it in more detail :)
If you would like to watch the video on my Youtube channel, just click on the link "Tracy's Treasures24"

I hope you enjoyed taking a peek into my Christmas Planner :)
I have been working in my other planners, yes I have more...I think I may have a bit of an addiction to them, lol.

Have a very Creative Day :)
