We all need Space to Grow..art journal page and process

I have a few groups of friends who are into art journaling and we like to challenge each other to encourage us all to art journal more.
This group of friends is new to art journaling and this was only our 3rd challenge!

The theme of this challenge was to have a black background and "Space"
Here is my take on this challenge that Denise came up with.

For my black background I used Dylusions black paint and applied it with a make up wedge.
I then wanted to add a cool background, so I splattered white paint, dry brushed and I also stippled the white paint.

I used a poppy stamp from Penny Black and coloured it up with my Copic markers.
I also cut the top off of some of them so they could face the opposite way that they stamped.

I used the word "Space" as the other ladies used space like outer space.

Here are all of our pages together.
I just love everyones take on these challenges!

I was making this page while my friends were here...I'm thinking I created it during National Scrapbooking Day...yup, always behind I am, lol
Because my friends were over, I would sneak in my scrapbook room and do a bit of recording.
So here is my process video on this page.

If you would rather watch it on my YouTube channel click the link "Tracy's Treasures 24"

Postage Love

Can you believe I am still sharing my Valentines Cards?!!?

I used a My Favourite Things image.
Like my last card, I was intimated by colouring the hair on these images, but not anymore now that I pretend that the bottom of the hair has an edge.
I knew which of my friends was going to receive this card.
It has that cute bird on the mailbox and my friend Denise, love to go bird watching.

I coloured this image up with my Copic markers and here are the colours I used.

Here is my completed card :)
I love those miniature envelopes!!!
There were from our local dollar store Dollarama.

I hope you all have a very Creative Day πŸ’—

Your Love Can't Foil Me

Isn't this foil paper so much fun!!!
I didn't want to cover up too much of this paper because it is so fun.

I used this cute Penny Black image...isn't she adorable.
I used to be intimated by these images because I was unsure on how to colour the hair!
But I just figured to pretend the ends of the hair isn't open and after that, I love colouring them up.
I used my Copics to colour her up and these are the markers I used.

I made all of my Valentines Day cards with these papers and embellishments from our local dollar store, Dollarama....where not much is only a dollar, teehee.
I also did a haul video on these "Valentine's Haul"

I did add a pink heart doily from my stash.

I hope you all have a very Creative Day πŸ’—

Cupcakes and Tea

I made this card for my tea loving friend...and cupcakes always to with tea...or anything else for that matter ;)

I used this Stampingbella image called Chloe the Coffee Mug Girl....but my friend likes tea, so it is a tea mug πŸ˜‰

I used my Copic markers to colour Chloe up and these are the colours I used.

Even before putting my cards together, I made card bases and added pattern paper to them.
Then with my assembly of making cards quickly, I then coloured all of the images I wanted to use and lastly created the cards.

This paper was so fun as all of the candies on the background paper have sparkles on them.
Here is my card :)

Mail me your Heart.

Yup...I am still sharing my Valentine's Day cards.
I love to add some detail to my tags but using my border punches to the bottom of the tag.
This one I also added a pink heart that I cut out and popped up.

I just love CC Designs images they are so much fun to colour...and just so cute!!

I coloured her up with my Copic markers and these are the colours I used πŸ’—

I used this same image on another Valentines Day card I had made this year.

Friends Card

Here is another one of my Valentines Day cards.
I had to hand deliver them as I completed them the night before Valentines Day.

I coloured this image, from Stampingbella called You Perk me Up, when Wayne and I were on our 30 wedding anniversary getaway last month...has it been a month already!?!

This image doesn't have a die, so I fussy cut them out.

I used my Copic markers to colour this image up and these are the colours I used.

I used the papers from our local dollar store, Dollarama.

Thank you so much for visiting me and I hope you all have a Creative Day :)

Winter Fun Tag

I was asked it I had wanted to join a tag swap hosted by my friend Stephanie.
Stephanie usually put on art journal challenges for each other, but we kind of slacked on this last year.
My friend Debbie and I decided to join in!!!
The theme was "Winter in Thunder Bay" and was to be created with our mixed medium supplies.
When I first heard the theme, I thought of skating because I loved to skate as a young girl and taught myself some pretty awesome moves, teehee.

 Here is my completed tag.
I used a white tag and used a tree stencil and used distress ink for the background.
I then used a stencil with tiny dots and added glass bead gel to make the tiny snowflakes.
I wanted to add some stars as I enjoyed skating at night...but I didn't have some....but figured it is art, so I made the wood veneer snowflakes into my stars :)
Lastly I added the 1/2 crystals to the background.

I also used Wink of Stella on the ice.
It is hard to see in this photo, but it is there.

Copic was having a colour challenge.
It was to use only 3 colours.
This month the colours were BV02, B91 and V17.
Besides her hair and skin colour those are the only 3 colours I used on this adorable Angie Blom image from her Angiegirl collection.
I LOVE her images.

Here is my completed tag.
Guess what....I also did a process video on how I made this tag!!
It has been awhile since I did a process video.
If you would like to watch it on my YouTube channel, just click on the link "Tracy's Treasures24"

Thank you so much for coming to visit me on my blog today.
I hope you all have a very Creative Day :)

Day 1 of Crafty Shopping

Wayne and I decided to go on a little get away to Duluth MN at the spur of the moment :)
So I picked up some American money, printed off some Michael's, Hobby Lobby and Joanns coupons and off we went :)
My main goal was to find a Brother Scan & Cut mat.
I was gifted a Brother Scan & Cut machine but I couldn't get it to scan an image...it would only cut the shapes that were programmed into the machine.
After weeks of asking questions on different forums, we all came to the conclusion that the mat I had (12x24) would not scan...the older machines couldn't scan on that size mat.

So our first stop once we got to Duluth, was Michael's.
I had read that some Michael's stores carry this product....but nope:(
But I did pick up this dotted journal as I heard it takes different types of mediums and I want to get back into my daily journaling and was hoping I could use this as my fauxbonichi in the new year.
I also picked up an R89 Copic marker, as when I used mine, the tip was dried up.
I changed the tip, but it was empty....I know I could purchase a refill, but I would need to order it and I plan on doing some colouring for Christmas tags and I need this colour :)

Next stop was Hobby Lobby.
I was so hoping I would find the Brother Scan & Cut mat here.
Sadly another disappointment :(
But I did find some stickers in the clearance area.
Yes that is all that I had found here....but my focus was on getting this mat, so I wasn't really looking for anything other then the mat...I was a bit obsessed.

Last crafty store was JoAnns.
Every store had a type of Cricut, but no Brothers!!!
I found this small hexagon punch I was looking for, but not Scan & Cut.
As I was paying for the punch I look behind the teller and in the locked cage what do I see....A Brother Scan N Cut machine....my heart starts to beat a little faster.
I ask the teller if they have the mats for the machine...which she responds "We don't carry anything by Brother"...huh?
I tell her it is behind her in the cage.
She then phones someone and then informs me it is in the sewing area!!!
I can not tell you how happy I was when I saw them there!!!!
Mission completed!

Wayne has a few stores he likes to check out when we come here.
There isn't a Cabela"s here and now there is no longer a Gander Mountain, so we went to Menards.
I seem to always find something there as well.
I saw this Family frame...isn't so sweet.

I always have work gloves in my jeep, but these ones are insulated, so they will keep my fingers warm this winter and they are just so pretty :)

I ran into the Dollar Tree to look for some books I might like.
I didn't find any books, but I picked up these cute dimensional stickers for some little kid cards as well as this calendar.
I have this exact one for myself, then my daughter Ashley commented on how much she liked it, so I picked her up this one.

Then it was time for dinner.
We always go to Red Lobster and I always get the Shrimp Trio.
But the last few times, the pasta was either crispy, the sauce in the pasta was watery and one time my shrimp was raw.
So I decided to change it up.
I love shrimp, but not a fan of most other types of sea food.
But Wayne convinced me to get this dish.
I loved the shrimp, the garlic potatoes and I kind of liked the lobster.
I didn't love the crab...I had a bit of it, but gave the rest to Wayne.

Before coming back to the hotel, we stopped off at Target to pick up some pop (soda for you Southerners, teehee).
You all know you can't go into Target without looking through their dollar spot area.
I picked up these wood pieces...I couldn't make them for the prices they were selling them at.

I also picked up this fun music note banner.
I think I may need to pick up another one if I want to decorate it up with a festive word.
I also picked up these gift tags....I love the ones with the wooden snowflakes.

That is the end of my shopping for today.
Tomorrow will be more fun for me as I won't be on a mission to find that mat, lol.

I hope you all have a very Creative day :)

Tracy :)
