I know Christmas is over, but it is never to late to plan for next year :)
I received this beautiful DayTimer planner from my daughters last year as a Christmas gift.
I knew exactly what I was going to do with it too.
A Christmas Planner!!!
I didn't need the date inserts, but I did want to use the monthly dividers.
But before we get into the details....lets talk about how I plan for the holidays.
I love notebooks and have many.
But noticed to get ready for the holiday's I had to get these and other books together.
I had a journal for my gift lists.
I had a book for keep a record or Christmas cards I send and received.
I had my recipes in my recipe books.
I had lists and revised lists and revised lists of the revised lists...well, you get the idea.
I really needed to fine stream my organizing method and the Christmas planner was the answer and oh so pretty.
Remember I mentioned that I kept the 12 monthly dividers?
I covered them with my hoarded pretty Christmas papers and made some new divider tabs.
Here is how I labeled each tab and what it consists of.
1. Schedule: My Todo's for the days in December.
2. Winter Wonderland: Outside Decorating
3. Deck the Halls: Inside Decorating
4. Holiday Traditions: What we do every December to enjoy the season more.
5. Card Addresses: Page above with my Addresses and who I send Christmas cards to.
6. Movies: Christmas movies we have and enjoy watching.
7. Feast: Prepping for a Turkey meal. What I need and how I do it. I also use this section for anytime we have a turkey meal.
8. Novels: Every December I read a sappy Christmas novel...it's just one of my traditions :) So I list the books I have to read and check them off when I do.
9. New Years: We host a New Years party (drop in). So what my plans are for that day.
10. Clean Up: Lists of what is packed where.
11. Gift List: My gift lists and stocking stuffers
12. So far 12 is blank.
I then added notes for each section.
I like that is it a ring binder, because then I can add pages as I need them.
This section is for addresses for my Christmas cards and who I sent to and who I received from.
I used the lists from the book I had, but redrew the lines and used my lable maker for the titles.
I am sure anyone can do this with any knowledge of the computer...me, I find it easier to just draw it and use the photo copier to make multiple copies.
I found this cute gift list HERE.
I just played with it so I could have the lists on both sides of the paper and room for the binder holes.
This planner has pockets and zippers and places for notepads.
Now all of my bit and pieces fit into this Christmas planner :)
I love how it turned out and it really helped with my planning this past Christmas!!
You know I just had to go into more detail than a blog post could fit, so I made a video so you can see it in more detail :)
If you would like to watch the video on my Youtube channel, just click on the link "Tracy's Treasures24"
I hope you enjoyed taking a peek into my Christmas Planner :)
I have been working in my other planners, yes I have more...I think I may have a bit of an addiction to them, lol.
Have a very Creative Day :)

My planner for 2016
I am keeping a planner again this year.
I love my planner and I love planning …. or I love decorating it…either way, its fun :)
I use the Day Timer and its inserts.
Here is my 1st pages of the year.
Because it had the last week of December on these pages I adhered some pretty pattern paper to cover up the days (I am planning on writing my goals on here).
Because not much was done the 1st and 2nd of January, I just added some die cuts that I had extras of.
To decorate up the pattern paper I adde some of the Heidi Swapp washi word tape.
Here is my first full week decorated.
I am thinking I am going with the gold theme this month ;)
I cut some flags out of the same pattern paper that I had used on the first pages.
I then added a piece of the washi tape to the flag :)
It wasn't until I posted this photo that I noticed the pattern in the paper and the washi tape are the same pattern…pretty cool eh..and I didn't even plan that :)
I am loving the look of the gold Heidi Swapp washi tape.
But am a bit disappointed as to the quality.
Some of the washi tapes are hard to peel off the roll as it sticks to the roll, it rips when I tried to pull off a section, and one tape I wasn't even able to use :(
I had the same problem with some of Tim Holtz washi tapes years ago.
Mind you, I have to say, I love most of their other products :)
I am just sitting here chuckling knowing that I will never be asked to review a product from a manufacturer, lol.
I am using other planners for other purposes and will share those in a future post.
I was actually thinking of using a different planner this year, instead of my Day Timer…but this is my 4th year using a Day Timer.
I just wish they would make this size pages in a vertical format…but you know what they say about wishing ;)
I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Mini Planner Pockets
These are my pages for this week.
I didn't get a chance to fill my week in as I was making these pockets for my journal.
Tonight was the Walking Dead, and I don't do anything when my show is on ;)
I was thinking the other night (as I was in bed, trying to go to sleep) of putting my chore list on my pages, but in a way where I can move them from week to week.
At first I thought I would laminate my lists in a dashboard form.
But then I had a genius idea….okay, maybe not genius, but I think it is pretty darn clever ;)
I remembered I had these name tag badge holder thingies.
I bought them a very long time ago, I think from the dollar store.
I thought they would work perfectly.
I printed up my chore charts.
I clean a room a week. I may not get them all completed in that week, but if I don't get them completed, I just start again on that week when the time comes around again.
I printed them on pattern paper, inked the edges and then did a bit of stamping.
I then used my hand punch (the same one I used when I was a papergirl as a kid, yup I still have the punch…..40 yrs later) to punch the plastic holders so they fit in the binder rings.
As you can see here, I added some pattern paper to the back of the chore charts, we like things pretty :)
I also like this as I can write with an erase pen, on the blank back for other things I may need to do or remember and can then erase it later.
Ohhh but thats not all.
I also made a video on how I made them with more information :)
If you would rather watch the video on my YouTube channel, for the full screen, just click on my link "Tracy's Treasures24"
Can you believe I didn't post for 2 days in a row!!
I can't believe it either.
I hope you all had a very Creative Sunday :)

Planner Pages
I thought I would share my completed week in my planner :)
Because most of my markers bleed through my pages, so I like to use sticky notes to do my writing on.
I am going to have to check out those flair markers Becky
was telling me about :)
Today was a busy day.
Not only did I have to get ready to go out to the cottage, but we made a quick decision to go on a little road trip :)
Every year my daughters and my SIL/friend, Sharon and I go on a girls trip.
Every year it is to the same place….Minneapolis :)
So today I had to run and get medical insurance, American money, an oil change in my jeep, fuel up the jeep, and also get ready to head out to the cottage.
Wayne and I will come home early on Sunday, then I have to repack for our road trip and head on the road.
So excited.
Don't you just love spur of the moment trips :)
Hope you all had a Creative Day :)

Planner pages for July
I was going to share a layout on today's post…but after I did the video it had a green tinge to it, like the last few videos.
So I have to figure out if I need a new video camera or better lighting…even though I have been using the same lighting for the last few years.
So onto todays creative post.
I thought I would share my planner pages with you.
I am still decorating my pages, but I don't seem to use them like I did at the beginning of the year.
I am not sure if using a regular calendar (as I used to do) would work better for me….but I just enjoy decorating the pages so much ;)
Here is my month on two pages for July.
We have a few birthdays to celebrate this month ;)
And here is my week on 2 pages.
I went with the red and white colour theme in honour of Canada Day :)
See Canada Day!!!!!
Look at this pretty washi tape :)
Actually it is 2 different washi tapes. the pink scallop doilies and then the pretty birds..so so pretty.
I hope you all had a Creative Day :)

June's planner pages
I haven't shared my planner pages in so long, that I thought I would do that today.
Here is June, my month on 2 pages all decked out :)
I love this butterfly washi tape, it is so so pretty.
I did use dark blue washi behind it to pop out the colours and image.
I figured I needed some more birthday cupcake stickers, so worked on a few last night…now to just cut them all out ;)
It rained on and off most of the day.
We drove a fellow neighbour home from camp. He wanted to bring up his truck for the summer, so he hitched a ride with us.
I wasn't one for conversation today…odd as I am a real chatty person.
But I have been fighting this cold.
I am not one for taking medicine. If I take an aspirin, it seems to zonk me out.
But I couldn't breath, so I grabbed some Sinus pills from Wayne and we sat down to watch a movie.
Before I knew it, I fell asleep... for over an hour…I fell asleep sitting up, lol.
Wayne asked me which pills I took…turns out there were "night time" sinus pills.
No wonder I was out like a light, lol.
I hope you all had a very creative Sunday and a wonderful weekend :)

Grey Raskog Cart Organized
Here is one of my Ikea carts all organized and suited to my needs.
This grey Raskog cart stays upstairs as I create a lot while watching televisions with Wayne in the evenings.
I like these carts as they can hold a lot and they have nice sturdy wheels, so when company comes over, I can wheel it in the bedroom out of the way :)
So let me explain more on what I am using this for.
This one is dedicated to my P365, Smash book, journals and my Day Planner.
The top of the cart holds my travel tote.
This travel tote hold all the necessities for these books and for everyday crafting.
To see what is in this tote, check out this post ***Travel Tote***
I like that it sits so nicely in here. I can get everything out with leaving it in the cart, but yet easy to take out when I am on the go.
The middle tray holds my photo trimmer, a few stamps and stickers that go with my books.
I have decorative envelopes in here and some avery labels so I can make my own custom stickers.
My new mini banner punches and some post it notes.
The bottom tray holds my composition books that I enjoy altering and using as various journals and a new Smash book.
It also holds my label maker in that box with the butterfly on it.
My Stampin' Up markers are in that pink bag and my red tape gun.
I also put in a couple of 6x6 paper pads.
I was really trying to incorporate my tag and journal tray in here, but I just couldn't figure out how.
Not a big deal though, I will just bring it upstairs when I need it.
If you want to see what is in the **Journal Tray** click on the name.
You don't think I forgot about my washi tape, now did you ;)
My washi tape drawer is to big to fit in here.
So I grabbed an extra hanging shelf thingy, added some washi to it, that I have picked out for my month Planner pages and and hung it to the tray edge.
I am still brainstorming on how I am going to use my turquoise cart to its full potential :)
Hope you all had a very creative Monday :)
Today was Family Day here in Canada. All stores were closed and we enjoyed a nice relaxing day at home.
Ashley even came by…..to do laundry ;)

Weekly planner pages
Thought I would share my week on 2 pages from this past week.
Because of it being Valentines Day this week, I enjoyed adding lots of hearts with pinks and reds :)
Last year I used my planner as sort of a diary..but in short form.
But I seem to document mine and my families lives in many forms.
My blog, my planner, Project 365.
Do I really need to document it in 3+ places?
No, I don't think so.
So my planner will be used for my "ToDo's" and appointments.
Many of the days will be the same…but I noticed I seem to enjoy decorating it more than using it, lol.
I completed organizing one of my Ikea carts today.
I even took photos….but I forgot to upload them to my laptop and the Walking Dead starts soon, so we will have to wait for another day for that ;)
It was a bit nicer here today -12c.
Wayne thought it was nice enough to do some errands in his shorts and a t-shirt…crazy Canuck, lol.
To those of you that haven't commented on my giveaway, please go and check it out :)

Working with my New Planner Pages
I am still getting the feel for my new planner pages.
One thing I do like about these pages are that the spaces for each day on either side of the washi tape seem to be wider.
I add washi tape to where the time schedule is. I don't use this, so it is a great place to add washi to, to decorate it up :)
On these new pages the time schedule is almost in the middle of that page, last years pager were closer to one side or the other.
So I seem to be able to write more in these spaces.
I added this quote from a 4x6 Sn@p Card that I cut down, backed with card stock and then used washi tape.
I covered up the December days that carried over to this week.
One thing I don't like about these pages is that instead of all the English written first, they broke it up to English, French, English, French.
So when I add my Washi tape to separate the days, I have to cover up the numbers and parts of the English dates :(
So I guess I have to hand write my day numbers again this year.
Another reason I do like these pages is because it has a "Notes and Memos" for the month that ended and also "A Diary Record" on one page and the next is "To Be Done in..." for that month.
I really like these features. As you know I love to write, and here I have a lot of room to both make plans and to write.
I hope you all had a very creative Saturday :)

Handmade Smash books a video and time to finally change the planner pages
Do you remember these smash-type books I made when I was on my Girls Getaway?
I love how they turned out…but I have yet to put them to use.
With my goal of having January my catch up month for last year and being in the present come February. I have been catching up on making my videos.
So here is a video talking about and sharing the inside of these two books.
I notice my videos are really big on my blog and get cut off, so if you want to go to my YouTube channel to watch it there, you can see the whole screen.
Thank you for the well wishes about Ashley's cat Sebastian.
He is doing well.
Ashley took the day off of work to care for him. She said he is doing well, but doesn't like the kitty litter he has to use because of his claws. And you know how this silly cat loves his litter, lol.
Isn't this a sweet photo of them.
I guess they both needed a nap today ;)
I thought I needed new month pages, but it turned out that the ones Wayne bought me for Christmas has them already.
I may still use the ones I purchased as they are 1 month on 2 pages. The one that came with the package is 1 month on 1 page.
There are a few differences in these planner pages than the ones I had last year.
Some good points and some not good points.
I will share those in a video later on :)
I hope you all had a creative Thursday.
Mine was spent making some videos and trying to figure out my iMovie program. The biggest problem was getting my Mac to read my video camera..but I think I got it figured out :)
Tracy :)

My Current Day
But I had plans... Ooooh I had plans.
Detail clean the house, tidy up the craft room, redo the front flower bed, start my weight loss journal, start on a Home Journal for Ashley.
Well guess what I did...I sat on the computer most of the day, and most of that was on facebook sites.
Man it feels like I wasted a wonderful day.
Good thing I am joining this planner challenge so I have at least something to share...and hey its creative ;)
Day #4 is "Current Day"
Today the kids start the new year of school.
Sadly, no little ones attending school for me anymore :(
Because it is the first week of school, I decorated my week in my planner with a school theme.
I like how these pages turned out :)
Onto My Day:
Besides sitting at the computer most of the day, I did make supper...nope, I didn't, Heather did that.
I made banana bread...nope, Kristy did that.
I did go through all our mailings and bills.
I also cleaned the filter in the range hood.
I started a list for things that should go into a Home Journal.
I also started a list of things that need to get done if either or both Wayne and I pass away suddenly.
When my girls saw me doing this, they were like "What the heck are you doing!!"
I laughed and told them it is best to be prepared. They were not impressed ;)
I have been meaning to do this after my dad passed away. I know it would have helped me out.

Completed Planner pages from Week #25
Thought I would share my completed pages for Week #25.
I went for a black/pink look :)
Honestly I forgot to write a lot of what happened during this week.
I have noticed that this is becoming more of a short form diary of our daily lives then a traditional planner.
I did like that one week I added my appointments or "to do's" n the left hand side of the vertical line.
I do have a few appointments in that section. It is still a work in progress :)
Do you do this as well?
When I am working with washi tape or anything that sticks to my fingers, I keep an area on my work space to stick it to until I have completed my project.
When I am working on my projects in the living room I use one of these lap desks. As I cut a strip off tape or tiny little slivers that hang over the edge of the paper, I just keep adhering them to my corner of my work desk :)
Just one of my little quirks that I know you were dying to know about me, lol.

I hope you all had a creative Sunday :)
If you missed my post on my Travel Tote/kit for my much used supplies, clink on the link...

WOYWW, Working on my Traveling Tote
Today I am working on something I have been planning on doing for the last month or so.
I have my Day Planner, Smash book and journals... and a whole lot of mess ;)
I usually work on my books while Wayne and I watch television. He likes for me to be with him, so encourages me to bring my supplies up from my craft room.
So instead of running up and down the stairs, and getting Wayne to pause the movie we are watching...I decided to put together a supply kit I can keep in the living room so I don't have to leave all the time and so it doesn't look like I trashed my living room, lol.
Plus we go to the cottage almost every weekend, so with this all put together it will be so much easier for me to grab my travel kit and head out the door.
Wish me luck in condensing 3 project supplies into one tote :)
I just realized that it is Wednesday, so I can share my desk on Julia's blog for her "What's on Your Workdesk" post :)
Mind you this is my dining room table and not my actual craft desk.
Onto My Day:
I did my hour long walk.
Then Ashley came home for lunch.
Kristy took her college class exam, as yesterday when I brought her there, the teacher wasn't there. He phoned me today to tell me it was his error as he forgot...no sh1t sherlock. She was there on time, waited for 45 minutes and phoned him and emailed her other teacher as she waited for him.
So the teacher set up the exam, at her high school. she took her exam and figures she did very well on it :)
After school I took Kristy and her friend Allison for ice-cream.
It has been a tradition with me to take my daughters out for ice-cream at the end of the school year. Since my other daughters have been out of school for a few years, that just leaves Kristy left, so we have taken her friend Allison with us for the last few years :)
Spent a good part of the day putting a video together for my Traveling tote. Hopefully I can share that tomorrow :)
I hope you all have had a creative Wednesday :)

My completed week in my day planner for week #24
I told you yesterday that I was going to share something creative with you today.
So I thought I would share with you my planner pages from last week.
Everyday I plan on doing something creative, and everyday either something happens, or I don't have the oomph to make it happen.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better creative day for me.
Not sure if you can see what that little blue tear drop sticky note says, but it says "My Week to Drive"
Actually that was my last week to drive, as Kristy's last day of school is this Thursday.
Then exams.
I hope you all have a creative Tuesday :)

Junes Day Planner pages
I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend :)
Today I thought I would share with you a few pages from my day planner.
I know that the 1st and 2nd of June was from last week, but because they were in the month of June, I put them after June's 2 page calendar.
Because I had a big space on this weeks page, I decided to colour in one of my Gorjuss girls images and adhere it to my page.
I used reds as my mom's birthday would have been on June 1st and she loved the colour red.
As you can see I coloured the sky and masked in some clouds.
I also drew in some grass :)
I even put aside the colours I have used :)
I am getting pretty good at remembering to do this ;)
Here are my pages from this past week.
I stayed with the red for this week as I really like the red washi tape at the top.
I am also trying something a bit different.
I am putting in my "To do" lists and appointments on the left of the thin washi tape going vertical, and writing in point form about the happenings of mine and my family's days on the right hand side of the vertical washi tape strip.
The arrow is a sticky note. I wrote on it (as I didn't have enough room on my page) I then folded it to fit in that area and stuck it down.
When we came home from camp, we checked out a house that Ashley is thinking of putting an offer on. There was an open house today.
Things sure have changed since Wayne and I bought our last house. Now you seem to have to ask more then the asking price. We always have asked under and still got the houses we wanted. But now, at least here you have to ask higher and hope no one has out bid you. Crazy I'll tell you.
After the open house, we took a trip to emergency to get Wayne's finger looked at.
The nurse wasn't happy that he hurt it on Friday and was just coming into the emergency today.
I think she may have been impressed with his MacGyver skills but said he taped it to tight.
Then she gave him a speech about how he could have got a bone infection and how serious that could be.
I found it a bit entertaining as she was about 1/2 his age ;)
I have to say I have to give a shout out to all us scrapbookers and anyone (who like me) takes photos of everything. As both the doctor and nurse were impressed that I had a photo of his finger all bent up on my phone ;)
Well as it turned out, Wayne's finger isn't broken. The doctor figured he must have dislocated the joint and then popped it back into place. Which Wayne did Friday night as he forced it straight to put it into his make shift splint.
I hope you are not to ill after reading about Waynes finger, teehee.
I hope you also had a creative Sunday :)
