In a state of Emergency

Remember me mentioning about all the rain we have been getting lately?
Well we received a lot last night again.
Here are some of the effects from it.
Our city has issued a state of emergency. The Red Cross has set up a temporary shelter for those who can't make to it their homes or are in need of any help.
These are NOT my photos, I got them off of Magic 99.9 Facebook page. They have been posting photos from residents around town.

This one looks like the street was made to drive through a river. These residents are probably cut off from the city due to the flooded roads.

Now this one is scary. Imagine driving into this! I hope no one was hurt.

I wouldn't want to explain this to my boss, teehee.
I know, not funny, but you have to keep a bit of your humour.

Just so you know, my family hasn't been affected by what has been happening. Our basement isn't flooded, we still have our power and none of the roads near me have been destroyed by the rains.
We are doing our part by not using unnecessary amounts of water.
Didn't get to the dishes tonight and limiting our flushing habits.
You know, if its yellow then its mellow, but if its brown flush it down, lol.
Here is an updated notice.

When Wayne and I were looking for a home, this was one of our concerns. So we looked for a home that we thought would be high enough above the water levels. I am not saying that we may not ever be affected by this, but right now we are good.
Here is more of the story from earlier http://www.tbnewswatch.com/news/211648/Emergencies-declared

Hope you all had a creative Monday.

Tracy :)

  6. So glad you are safe!!! My house is the highest house in the neighborhood and I love it! We had a horrible flood a couple years ago here in Nashville and it didn't come our way so I guess we're good. But I know how horrible the effects of flooding and too much rain can be. The pic of the road is horrifying!!! Stay safe!! Hugs!

  11. Oh wow. Such a big weekend for weather problems! So glad that you and your family are OK. Hope that your high ground stays nice and dry. We are getting hammered by a tropical storm here in FL but we need the rain so it's actually a blessing. But I think I'll stay off the roads today. Stay safe!

  12. Well, I am catching up, and wanted to comment a little. First off, love your "bookmark" tag! And that card... fabulous. Can't wait for the tutorial, so I can try one of those! Sorry about your flooding! We, also, are having tons of rain! And I am looking forward to some sunshine too. Still all this week, scattered showers. Each day we find a little sun, but showers too! Hope things are soon under control up your way!

  24. WOW! Thats insane! Glad you aren't affected. We had roof damage in the heavy rains in 2011. Had to have our roof and the ceiling repaired in three places. Probably good we don't have basements in California.....

    Mellow Yellow? I'm totally laughing!

  27. Wow Tracy, that is nuts! We have been lucky enough not to get this! I haven't even heard this on the news yet but will be checking tomorrow. A friend of mine posted her flooded apartment in Montreal and I couldn't believe my eyes! BTW, the police car made me giggle a little - hehehe!

  28. Holy Moses! Glad to hear you are staying dry. Feel free to send some down my way. It looks like someone set off a pollen bomb on my back deck. It's like some kinda freaky yellow dusting of snow. Eeek!

  29. Dang now that some rain and some damage! Glad your safe and I'll keep my fingers crossed the levels stay low enough you aren't affected.

  34. Amazing...and so sad! And yet we are in a drought here. Every time it's supposed to rain, the clouds clear up over us and then fill in again once they pass by.

I'm am really glad to hear that you guys have stayed high & dry and still doing your part by conserving water. I was tickled at your rhyme about the yellow water in the bowl...*snicker!*
