How many of you, have hear of Pocket Letter's?
When I had first seen them I thought….oh these are ATC's
But when I watched some videos, I realized they are and they aren't.
They are the same size as an ATC and each one is hand made.
But (to me) they are more simply made and the idea is to send them in their pocket pages.
Here are the ones I made today.
The first thing you will need are these page protectors, which are hockey or baseball card holders.
I have been keeping my ATC's in these for a while now, so I already had them on hand.
I picked mine up from Dollarama…..which is a dollar store here in Canada.
Then I went through my scrap file and cut some papers to 2.5 x 3.5.
I love the idea of using up some of my paper scraps :)
The papers I had in my scrap file were pretty thin.
So I backed them up with some card stock, also from my scraps.
I didn't have enough of the same colour of card stock to back all of the 9 cards, so I had to use a lighter pink and then inked the edges in a darker pink ink so they would look similar.
I had this heart and "love" die cut on my desk, so I figured I would use it on one of my cards :)
One other thing that is fun about these pocket letters, is that you are to slip in some goodies into the pockets.
I am planning to add some washi tape samples, twine, tags I will cut out, die cuts, and some chocolate ;)
Many of the other ladies have added special tea, but I am not a big tea drinker, but chocolate…I would be all over that, lol.
Oh ya, another great thing about these pocket letters…once they are folded in the 3 sections, they should fit in a #10 envelope.
I tried to keep all of my embellishments thin, so I could just use a regular stamp on these.
I haven't signed up for any swaps and I don't have any pen pals, but I still wanted to try my hand at these, so I am going to mail them out to some of my friends :)
Here is a link to Janette Lane's video explaining how these pocket letters work "Pocket Letters"
I hope you all had a very Creative Thursday :)

ATC's from Jeremy
I was in a couple of ATC swaps and was so excited to receive a set from Jeremy in the mail :)
I had never swapped them before, so it was so nice that Jeremy (Jeremoose80 on YouTube) offered to do a swap with me.
He gave me a long list of themes and asked me to pick three of them.
I picked
Steampunk, Fairytale and one of our choice.
Here are Jeremy's take on the 3 themes :)
I love anything Steampunk…well except for the mechanical legs, but most everything else. So of course I really like the steampunk ATC.
The Fairytale is Rapunzel, which turned out so cool. He said he got his inspiration from Tangled, such a sweet movie.
I love his take on the "one of his choice." How cool to come up with a Nerd theme ;)
Thank you so much Jeremy for making these wonderful ATC's for me and taking a chance on this ATC newbie ;)
Here is a video I did with a better look at Jeremy's ATC's when I received them :)
If you would rather watch it on my YouTube channel, just click my link :)

I will share with you the ATC's that I had made for Jeremy once he receives them :)

Creative Long Weekend has come to an end.
The long creative weekend has come to an end.
Lots of creating, fun, laughs and junk food was to be had.
Now it is back to reality and getting back on track with real life and a healthier lifestyle.
Here is an ATC I had made during the weekend.
I think this is my favourite one so far.
I LOVE it!!!
I used Tim Holtz stamps for the sentiment and image.
i used some mist sprays for the background and coloured the heart and banner with my Copics.
I guess Wayne forgot to water my flowers :(
I can't complain too much as he cleaned all the garbage we had collected in the yard from last weekend, he washed the carpets and they look like new, he also tidied up the house. And to make him sound like a perfect man, he is making me some calamari for supper with his homemade dipping sauce ;) so, nope, you won't hear me complaining ;)
I thought I would give my flowers a good soaking of water before I gave up hope.
But was surprised mine had lasted as long as they had.
Ashley and Sharon had both thrown their flowers out last week, or the week before already.
They look a bit sad here don't they.
But after a soaking of water and a bit of time for them to absorb it, they are all perky and healthy :)
This makes me so happy.
Love this bright happy colour :)
I hope you all had a creative Monday :)

Playing with mists on an ATC
Today was spend doing errands in preparation for my crop on National Scrapbooking day this Saturday.
Can you tell I am excited about it ;)
Last Friday I decided to make a swatch of all my mists so I know how they would look on paper.
It is hard to see the real colour in the bottles.
I punched out these tabs with my punch and started spraying.
Kristy thought it looked like a lot of fun, so she took over.
But that was okay, as I used my label maker to write the colours and company who makes them on the back of each tag.
So not much creating was done by me today.
But while Wayne and I watched Resident Evil, I decided to play with my mists.
I am still playing with Spring-like colours.
I have this boot box that I use for spraying my mists…looks pretty doesn't it ;)
Now this looks Springy….doesn't it?
Because I am using water based inks, I don't want them to make my stamping bleed, so I am using Archival ink.
So far I really like the background.
I have made a few ATC's and I like how the background looks, but after that it seems to go down hill, lol.
I have a bit of an idea on what I want to do with this one….lets hope it looks as good as it does in my mind ;)

My first ATC
This is my first ATC ever!!
I am happy with how it turned out.
You may be wondering what is an ATC?
It is an Artists Trading Card. Now I have never claimed to be an artist, but these are a fun way to use out artistic supplies ;)
What they are meant for, is for artists to create on these tiny 3.5 x 2.5 inch cards and trade with each other...no selling
I am in a one on one swap and we decided on a Spring theme. As you can see my ATC is far from Spring.
I was trying out my Dylusions ink sprays. Didn't know there were such a deep colour.
Her were my plans for this ATC....funny how once I sprayed the card, how my direction totally changed.
This one I am going to keep :)
One of the reasons I decided to make ATCs was to play around with my art supplies on a smaller canvas. This way if I really hate how it turns out, it's bit like I spent a lot of time or product on them.
But mostly to use my art supplies :)
We are having trouble with our Internet supplier. Actually everyone in my city is. I had heard it was even on the news. So I am not sure how much blog visiting I will get done tonight.
I am blogging from my phone on 3G right now.
I hope you all have had a creative day :)
