Happy Birthday to Me

Today is my 51st birthday...It surprises me as I still think I'm in my late 20's, lol.
I had such a great day today.

My youngest daughter Kristy took the day off of work to spend it with me and my middle daughter Heather only worked 1/2 a day so was able to spend the day with me as well.

My day started out with Kristy's making me french toast for breakfast and added banana's and her handpicked blueberries from camp the other day :)
Then my friend Lynne came by for a quick visit and to give me my birthday gift of some crafty goodies :)

I spend the day with 2 of my daughters Heather and Kristy and we went to the Marina to check out the sites.
It was warm today so I walked along the edge of the splash pad...so refreshing and it was so nice to see the little ones playing in the water.


We walked along the shores of Lake Superior, so beautiful to see the sleeping giant resting out in the lake.

The girls went to pick me out a cake.
I know Kristy is the baker in the family, but we have been so busy.
Now you may think this cake looks a bit odd...well it is.
When Kristy went to Safeway to pick up a cake, they told her that they don't make round cakes anymore.
Funny thing is they make 1/2 round cakes.
How they do this is they make a round cake, add the icing and decorate it....then cut it in 1/2.
And the inside (where they cut it) isn't iced, lol.
Seriously...I didn't make this up, lol
So Kristy bought 2, 1/2 cakes and Ashley put them together....which the top layer wanted to slide off of the bottom layer.
But it did tasted yummy :)

I had a wonderful day with the family as they all came over for Chinese food for dinner :)

Its my Party

Today is my Birthday !!!!
Look at the yummy cake my daughter Kristy made me.
She gave me a choice of carrot cake with cream cheese icing from the bakery, or her cake with butter cream icing.
It was a hard choice to make as they are both my favourite!!!
But I chose Kristy's :)
This is actually a mini version of Ashley and Tyler's wedding cake, in which Ashley and Kristy made for the wedding.

We spent the weekend at our cottage.
I was lucky enough to share the weekend with my wonderful family.
Tyler (Ashley's husband) didn't get to come up until Saturday as he had something to attend to.
Every year the owners of the English River Inn, host a little get together to celebrate and here we are in the breakfast room :)

Oh I can't forget Oscar...he is a bit tuckered out after a day of swimming...but so is Kristy ;)

Here are my gifts that my family gave me :)
Look at all of those gift cards...I can see some major shopping in my future ;)

And how cute is this purse!?!
Ashley picked it up for me when her and Tyler went to the States.
Can you tell I love my new pretty purse :)

I had a great weekend....I even enjoyed re-organizing our beach shed....but I will share that in another post, as Ashley took photos and told me it would make another great blog post, lol.

Girls night out.

Tonight a couple of friends and I celebrated my BDay :)

Whenever it is one of our birthday's we go out to dinner and a movie…..Birthday Girls choice.

I have been doing very well with my healthy eating, so tonight it was Chinese Food..yum.

Then we went to the movie Trainwreck.

It was pretty funny.
Raunchy for some, but I thought it was pretty funny :)
I enjoyed a nice evening out and the day was spent with Karen shoe shopping.
I was so happy that I found a really nice pair of shoes to wear with my dress for the wedding :)

Its my Birthday !!!

Today is my Birthday!!! 

It was an average day..besides all of the birthday greetings I received today.

Oh yes, and Hearher and Kristy taking me out for lunch...which was a donut...don't judge, my birthday, my choice, lol. 

I was so happy to hear that all my girls were able to come to camp this weekend. 

But was surprised to see these 2 balloons attached to the gate. 

I couldn't figure out how they got there. I knew they were from Ashley's bachelorette party. But Ashley, Heather Kristy and Blake weren't coming until a bit later. 

As we got closer to the camp... I knew it was them that had decorated, but Ashley's jeep was no where to be seen. 

But then they all snuck out from behind the trailer and yelled "Happy Birthday Mom" 

Yes, I almost cried. 

Here are my beautiful daughters :) 

Then Wayne and my girls showered me with gifts. 

They gave me pink walking capris....so I can be seen from a distance hiking here at camp. Gardening tools and gloves, Fitbit bands and a cute new mug. 

Lastly we invited our camping neighbours over for some cake. 

I got too excited and cut the cake before taking a picture, lol.

It's My Birthday :)

Today is my Birthday :)
My daughter invited us over for a BBQ that her and her boyfriend Tyler put on.
Kristy, Heather and I prepared a potato salad and a taco dip, and Ashley did the rest :)
It was a wonderful evening.

I received some wonderful, sweet gifts from my daughters and my SIL & BIL who were also there.
But I have to say the one I was most impressed with was this one here :)
My daughters picked out some of my favourite treats and put them in a jar…but the best part is that they decorated the jar with washi tape.
My creative heart is just swelling with pride ;)

Onto My Day:
Kristy and I were going to go for a walk this morning, but she had blisters on the back of her heels from yesterday's walk. She said she would still go with me, but I told her to just let them heal first.
Then we went and did some errands…like getting my licence plate sticker as they expire today, being its my birthday.
Kristy and I ran out to pick up my BDay cake that Ashley ordered. While we were there, these "Sally Anns" called out our names.
So we each got one…like I needed more sweets this week, lol.

Kristy insisted that Wayne needed to get me another Birthday gift as he gave me the video camera early, so she didn't think that counted as my gift from him….I like this girl's way of thinking, lol.
Kristy knew I liked these basket holders from the garden centre, so Heather, Kristy and I went to check them out.
Sadly they were all gone.
I actually think the video camera was a pretty excellent gift on its own ;)
I love carrot cake with cream cheese icing….I have to say, it was delicious.
I even splurged and had a can of Coke today as well ;)
