Riding the Trails

Another gorgeous day at our cottage.
We got Kristy and Blake (Kristy's boyfriend) to pick up all the fallen branches on our property.
Then we had a nice fire.
Once the fire died down a bit we cooked our lunch over it :)
If you have been following my blog for awhile, then you know I love to drive my quad.
But I mostly love to trail ride as opposed to riding on the roads.
Riding the trails remind me of the endless hours I rode my dirt/motor bike when I was a young girl.
Of course the trails out here aren't groomed at all and are rarely used.
You actually get a bit of a workout when driving these trails as you have sharp turns, you have to support your weight as you lean from one side or the other so you don't tip your quad. Also I stand quit a bit so I don't hurt my tush when driving over roots and rocks.
This boat is left here as it belongs to "the Trapper" no one has ever stole it but then again it's out in the middle of nowhere.
The water is so high. Wayne and I used to turn around where that boat is. Not this time.

I was sad to see that someone is cutting one of my favourite trails :(.
My trail continues beyond those trees.
So after a long day of fun and a bit of work, Wayne and I enjoyed our sauna and I enjoyed my weekend can of coke :)
I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. :)

Hope you all had a Creative Day

Nothing Kind of Day

Today was a pretty unproductive day.
Besides toasting my Persian in the frying pan…thats about all I did today.

I just didn't have any motivation to do anything today.
It was a beautiful day today.
I should have been:
weeding the flower beds,
cleaning the house,
organizing my craft room,
making dinner,
even creating

But instead I sat on the couch with my laptop and kept checking on Facebook to see what everyone else was up to.
Which wasn't much as everyone else was probably at work or doing the things I should have been doing, lol.

I hope you all had a creative Friday.
Maybe I will get a walk in tonight :)

Squirrel trouble

Look what those darn giant squirrels did to my bird feeder!!!

I have mentioned before that we don't have any chipmunks or small red squirrels any more, as the big black and grey squirrels have scared them away.
Not only that, but they are very destructive.
They have chewed holes in the lids of my garbage cans to get into them.
And now they have chewed on my bird feeder to try to get to the little bit of seed they couldn't reach in the middle of this bird feeder.
The other side is just as bad if not worse.

Our small birds don't come around anymore because these critters won't let them any where near the seeds.
Time to get my sling shot out and have a little bit of target practice ;)

I spent most of my day getting some crusher fines (gravel) for Ashley's yard.
She met Heather, Kristy and I at her house for lunch and helped us unload the first 6 buckets….she didn't look too graceful in her dress though ;)
Then Kristy and I went back to the pit for a second load later in the day.
Came home and needed a nap before starting dinner ;)

I hope you all had a very creative Thursday :)

Creepy Cute girls…or just plain Creepy

If you know me then you know I am always up for a challenge.
I also love to try new things.
I also "think" that I can do anything.

That was until I decided to enter a "Creepy Cute" swap, lol.
I was encouraged to enter this swap/challenge by the host of the FB group, even when I told her I couldn't draw.
She then informed me that I can use a stamped image.
So I jumped in….then I thought that these other women/artists are going to be drawing their "Creepy/Cute" characters. So if I use a stamp would that not be a cop out?

So I thought I would give it a try.
Creepy cute art is where the character is cute…but has a hint of creepiness to them.
Now the first one is just plain creepy, lol.
She looks like she has an alien head. Plus I couldn't get the other eye right, so I just drew it closed.
The second one isn't as bad, but if you know me, then you also know, I'm not one to practice.
Looks like I may be using a stamped image after all, lol.

I received my ATC swap from My Pixie Life :)
Thank you so much Camilla :)
I love the dimension of those tiny purple flowers and the image in the centre is so so cute.
A perfect "Spring" theme card.
Thank you for the extra goodies Camilla, I love the sticky note pad.

I was in my craft room organizing a bit more today…organizing or shit shifting, not sure which, but my supplies are being moved where I will have better access to them :)

I hope you all had a creative Wednesday :)

More ATCs

I did another ATC (artist trading card) swap.
This one was with "My Pixie Life"
Our theme for our swap was Spring.
Here is one of my ATC's for her, this one is my favourite ;)

I added colour to the background with some spray mists. I then stamped the background stamp that Jodi gifted to me.
I then stamped the fairy girls and mushrooms on water colour paper and coloured them up with my Distress markers and then fussy cut them out.
The sentiment I came up with on my own and printed it up on my computer.
Here is a video I did of the ATC's I sent Camilla.

I also did a video on the first ATC's that I had created :)

I have been slowly working on re-organizing my craft room.
Two cupboards done….many more to go ;)
I have been taping it as I go along.

I hope you all had a creative Tuesday :)

Sunflower Award

Why is it when I finally get the courage to cut my hair short…I have a good hair day.
Its like my hair knows or something, teehee.
Don't mind the beautifully ugly wall in the background, this photo was taken in our cottage bathroom ;)
Hence the "gone fishing" sign in the background, lol.

I was nominated for the Sunflower Award by MJ also known as "Little Panda Crafts"

Here are the Rules:
1. Share 11 facts about yourself.
2. Answer the questions set by the blogger that nominated you
3. Nominate bloggers
4 Post 7 questions for those nominated bloggers

Okay so here it goes….
11 Facts about me, in no particular order

1. I love to organize and reorganize
2. I have been retired for a little over a year now. I don't miss working…I thought I might, but nope.
3. I love scary movies. I watch marathons of the Walking Dead and other zombie movies
4. I love to create…I think about it all the time, I even dream about it.
5. I just discovered I have a bit of an obsessive personality.
6. I like to be surrounded by my craft supplies
7. I have a dream of being a wonderful photographer…even though I only use my iPhone for picture taking
8. I also think one day I will be a great cook who loves to make wonderful dishes..even though I don't care to cook.
9. I am truthful. I keep most of my opinions to myself. But if you ask me for my opinion, be prepared to hear what I really think.
10. I am a homebody. Even though I love to take little trips with my family, I love the comfort of being at home.
11. Even though I am a home body, I would love to travel in a motor home. Hey, its like a home on wheels ;)

Here are my questions that MJ gave to me:
1. What is your favourite kind of flower?
Not sure if I have a favourite, as I love all types of flowers.
2. latest song you've found inspiring?
Oh this is a hard one. I love music and all types of music.
But right now I am still loving this song from last summer called "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons
3. Recent Milestone in your Life
The latest would be to be retired at such a young age (my age may not be young, but retiring at 45 is)
There is another milestone I am working on…but I will leave that for another post ;)
4. Favourite Hobby
I have trouble with the word "favourite" as I don't really have a favourite of anything.
I love all types of crafts, but right now my craft of choice is paper crafting in all forms.
5. When is your birthday?
July 24th
6. Motto You Live by?
I have a few…one of them is.."think the best of someone".
another one is "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me"
7. How many siblings do you have?
I have 5 siblings. 4 brothers and 1 sister

Now I have to nominate other Bloggers.
I chose these bloggers as they haven't been posting much, so I wanted to give them a push ;)
I also hate to leave anyone out..so if you would like to answer my questions, feel free to do so, just let me know that you did so I can come and read your answers ;)

Now for my questions:
1. How did you get into blogging?
2. Do you have a favourite craft and if so, what is it?
3. How long have you been blogging?
4. Would you ever think of running a 1/2 Marathon?
5. What would be the hardest food to stop eating for you?
6. What is the hardest thing to organize in your crafting supplies?
7. What TV series or movie could you watch over and over again?

Wow that took a bit longer than I expected, teehee.

If you are still with me, I hope you all had a very creative Monday :)

June's planner pages

I haven't shared my planner pages in so long, that I thought I would do that today.
Here is June, my month on 2 pages all decked out :)
I love this butterfly washi tape, it is so so pretty.
I did use dark blue washi behind it to pop out the colours and image.

I figured I needed some more birthday cupcake stickers, so worked on a few last night…now to just cut them all out ;)

It rained on and off most of the day.
We drove a fellow neighbour home from camp. He wanted to bring up his truck for the summer, so he hitched a ride with us.
I wasn't one for conversation today…odd as I am a real chatty person.
But I have been fighting this cold.
I am not one for taking medicine. If I take an aspirin, it seems to zonk me out.
But I couldn't breath, so I grabbed some Sinus pills from Wayne and we sat down to watch a movie.
Before I knew it, I fell asleep... for over an hour…I fell asleep sitting up, lol.
Wayne asked me which pills I took…turns out there were "night time" sinus pills.
No wonder I was out like a light, lol.

I hope you all had a very creative Sunday and a wonderful weekend :)
