FNS and a couple of cards

Another fun night of creating :)

I made a couple of cards tonight.
I stamped the image and then coloured them up with my Chameleon markers.
No real shading to this image though.

We had a funeral to attend this afternoon and I totally forgot to bring a card.
I can't believe I forgot…I will have to mail them first thing in the morning.

The sun shinning off the lake is just breathtaking. 

It was so foggy out there that it is hard to make out the Sleeping Giant. 

I took these photos out of the clinic window. Pretty good eh? 

Then came home for a bit of a snack ;)

Defunkifying my Dresser

I haven't been very creative lately…..unless you feel that defunkifying my life is being creative ;)
I was tidying up my bedroom, and I needed to go through my clothes in my dresser….as I was running out of room in there ;)

So I took everything out and put them on my bed.
Then I tried everything on….not the most fun thing to do, but it needed to be done :)
I am donating the items that I don't care for or that I don't like how they fit.

This has always been my nemesis.

I have these 2 big gapping cupboards in my dresser.
What I usually do is stack my shirts in one and pants in the other.
But with no shelves, the clothes topple over.
Or I would want a shirt on the very bottom, and the rest of the shirts fall out and then I just jam them back in and shut the doors, lol.
I have been thinking of a solution to this for the last few months and have finally put it to action.

I have these wire grids (used to make cubbies out of) that I have used in my scrapbooking room to house supplies, in my laundry room and even some at the cottage to organize numerous things.
So why not for my shirts and pants :)
They fit nicely in the cubbie holes in my dresser.
So I grabbed 3 of these wire grids and zip tied them together to form an "H" shape.
See how great they work!!!!

There are 4 drawers in this dresser, but the 2 bottom drawers were a pain to use, so I would put seasonal clothes in one, and the other one was even worse to open, so put some of my favourite children's books in there.
My mission was to take back my dresser.
So I took out the rail that holds the drawer and it was in 3 pieces, lol…..no wonder it didn't work properly.
So I fixed it with wood glue and then waxed the rails and they work like a charm :)

Next project….the closet, oh fun, lol

Thanksgiving Photo Shoot

Remember I mentioned that Ashley took some photos yesterday during our Thanksgiving celebration.
Well, here are a few of them :)
This is one of my favourites.

Wayne hates to get his photo taken…ever.
So I was a bit surprised to see that he came along for the photo shoot.

Here is my little sister Julia and I.
Man, I love this girl….she is crazier than I am, lol.

My big brother Darrell with his little sisters ;)

My sister N sister in law Darlene…yes you read that correctly.
Darlene is Wayne's sister and she is married to my brother Darrell….so I call her my sister n sister in law ;)
Then there is me (I sure look short) my niece Lauren (who is Darrell and Darlene's daughter) and my sister Julia.
My daughter's and Lauren look so much alike…but then again they do share all of the same genes ;)

These photos were taken at the back of our house…so pretty with all of those colourful leaves :)

Ashley loves photography and is really good at it as well.

Happy Creative Thanksgiving

I want to wish all of my Canadian friends a happy Thanksgiving :)
I had my family over tonight for a yummy turnkey dinner.
I cooked a 8kg (17.6 lb) turkey and 4.5 kg (10 lbs) of potatoes for my family of 13 :)
Ashley did a photo shoot, while the family was all together :)

Even though I was cooking and cleaning today, I still had time to craft :)
Remember my "Memo Board" I had altered ?
I needed a holder for my marker
Then I saw this clip on the side of my fridge and thought it would be perfect!!
It would work great, but not to pretty…...

I grabbed a scrap of pretty paper.
I punched out a circle and then inked the edges with distress ink.
Now it is pretty just like this….but…….

But I know just the thing to pretty it up even more :)

I have quiet a few flair badges.
I seem to hoard them more than use them.
But decided this would be a great project to use one on, as I get to keep it and look at it all of the time, teehee.

What to choose, what to choose?
I opted for this mini flair designed and gifted to me by Elise from "Feed your Craft"
I thought it was perfect for my memo board marker holder.

What do you think?
Cute and functional, wouldn't you say :)

Blogger Out of Order, due to Zombies

This blogger has given herself up to the Walking Dead tonight ;)

I have been so excited for tonight…..I can hardly contain myself.
Tonight is the new season of The Walking Dead!!!!
I have been watching the marathon (I can probably recite this show word for word, lol) the last few days and can't wait to see the new episode tonight.
Every Sunday night I watch the new episode, then I watch the Talking Dead, then I re-watch the episode I had just watched…once or sometimes even twice.

Some (like my daughters) may think I'm obsessed….others just get me ;)

My day in photos...home edition, the curio cabinet

 Luna enjoyed the view this morning.

She loves and gets very excited watching the birds in the feeder.

Today was the opening weekend of hunting season, so while Wayne was hunting, I totally cleaned out my curio cabinet. 

I wanted a change. 

I took out all of the girl ornaments, dolls, my wedding China and more out of here. 

I dusted it all off and packed what l'm not ready to donate yet. 

During this time (as it took waaaay longer then I thought it would) Wayne came home, turned on the football game and we enjoyed some Chinese food in front of the tv. 

We switched between the game and the Walking Dead marathon. 

Not the best photo as it is so shiny from me obsessively cleaning the glass and mirror, lol. 

I filled my cabinet with my dad's and our old cameras. 

I also seem to collect nests...so added some of those as well. 

I love how it turned out!!
