Opening up the Camp/Cottage

 Camp Season is upon us!!

Wayne and I spent the weekend at our cottage.
It rained almost the whole 2 hour drive out there, but cleared up when we reached camp, which was nice to unpack without getting soaked :)
Wayne worked most of the weekend to get our water turned on, but ended up we had a small hole in one of the pump check valve.
We did get enough water to fill up the sauna and fill up a few buckets though.

First thing I did once Wayne put the battery in the quad was go for a ride of course :)
I love to ride!!

It actually hailed before heading home.
Then we got rain...lots of rain.

As much as I love my Home away from Home, I am going to miss my Friday Night Scrapbooking I have with my friends.
I am hoping to have them one day during the week in the afternoon...sad thing is, most of my friends still work, so won't be able to make it.
They all need to retire, lol.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend :)

Life update

I was reminded by a friend that I haven't posted since Feb 1st, so I had figured I had better get on that ;)
I have actually been busy the last week or so.
It was Wayne's 53rd birthday on the 2nd, so we did a little road trip to Duluth :)

Wayne and I love Red Lobster.
Sadly we don't have one in our city the closest one is across the border in Duluth.
We celebrated Wayne's birthday dinner at Red Lobster....we even shared a complimentary dessert :)

I am in a "No spend on scrapbooking supplies" challenge, so sadly no buying crafty supplies for me.
But that didn't mean I didn't buy anything.
I found 9 cute outfits for Sawyer ;)
This one reminded me of the sleeper in "The Christmas Story" except it's not pink :)

Grandpa Wayne loved this outfit...being as he loves to operate his loader, so had to get it for Sawyer.

Grandma loves her Sawyer hugs, so this was the perfect onesie

I had to get Sawyer a few toys to play with when he comes to visit grandma...right ?!?

Don't worry I picked up a few things for me :)
Yummm.
I ate the snack cake already, but am saving the Peeps and Caramel puffcorn for the crop I am attending this Saturday :)

I also found this cool pair of leggings.
I love the pattern on them...so much so that I had to get the sales lady to strip them off of the mannequin, as this was the only small in the store, teehee.

I had to laugh when I saw these earplugs in our hotel room.
I teased Wayne that they had it noted on our file that he snores very loudly ;)

Before we drove back home, we stopped at Cold stone....or what I call it Stone cold, for some ice-cream :)

This was our view driving home.
It was white out conditions.

I am sure Lake Superior was a bit chilly ;)
We always stop of at "My Sister's Place" for lunch on our drive home, but with the weather and slow driving, we decided to drive straight home.
We did stop of at the Holiday gas bar for a burger.

All of our daughters, son(in law) and our precious grandson were waiting for us at our house to not only welcome us home, but to also celebrate Wayne's birthday.
We ordered out as we didn't want to go out for supper and then enjoyed some birthday cake.
Look at Sawyer...he is loving the bunny grandma and grandpa bought him <3 p="">

Wayne's and I celebrated our 29th Wedding Anniversary on the 5th.
We celebrated by playing Resident Evil 7 BioHazard...well actually Wayne played and I told him what to do :)
Perfect day for us....I think I also enjoyed a can of Coke that day, lol.

There you have it...all up to date now :)

My Walk About

It snowed the other day and I wanted to take in all of the beauty around me.
I am lucky enough to live in such a beautiful country.
I am also lucky to live in an area that has the conveniences of the city but close enough to the country to be able to see and have nature all around me.

I took out my "Big Boy" camera....he has been in my camera bag far to long.
Just a side note, I still shoot in auto mode as I am to lazy to learn how to use it in manual, lol.
Also these photos look like they are in black and white....nope, it was an over cast day, but still was beautiful.

This is a shot through our back fence to the bush behind our yard....which I have found a family of deer a time or two.

I think the birdbath is a bit frozen over.
As my daughter joked...the birds can skate on it, teehee.

Here is a trail behind our house.
Where does it lead to?
The park...in which our (not to smart) city took down the play structure BEFORE summer and didn't put up any other play structure for the kids in the neighbourhood.

More trees behind our yard.

Oh look some colour, teehee.
Yard decor I haven't yet put away for the winter.

I keep my garden angel up all year round.
I like the aged look it has taken on.

Looking at my yard pictures, I noticed I didn't put any of my yard decor away, lol.

One last photo of the trees.
So beautiful.

As much as I love the look of snow, I don't like the cold weather that comes with it.
Can you believe that it rained the next day and all the snow melted...except for the huge snowbank beside our driveway.
But don't worry, after the rain, the snow came again.

I hope you all have a very creative day :)

My day in photos...home edition, the curio cabinet

Luna enjoyed the view this morning.
She loves and gets very excited watching the birds in the feeder.
Today was the opening weekend of hunting season, so while Wayne was hunting, I totally cleaned out my curio cabinet.
I wanted a change.

I took out all of the girl ornaments, dolls, my wedding China and more out of here.
I dusted it all off and packed what l'm not ready to donate yet.

During this time (as it took waaaay longer then I thought it would) Wayne came home, turned on the football game and we enjoyed some Chinese food in front of the tv.

We switched between the game and the Walking Dead marathon.
Not the best photo as it is so shiny from me obsessively cleaning the glass and mirror, lol.

I filled my cabinet with my dad's and our old cameras.
I also seem to collect nests...so added some of those as well.
I love how it turned out!!

I hope you all had a creative day :)

My day in photos....cottage edition

Some say it's sweater weather.....
Well, here in the Great White North, it's bush jacket weather ;).
But seriously, I only wear my bush jacket up here at the cottage.
It turned out to be a beautiful day.
I took a couple of walks..in between painting and getting things packed away for the end of the season.

I also got in a few rides.
I almost got stuck taking my quad down some new terrain.  I said "almost" teehee.

I hope you all have a very creative day.

I'm still playing catch up in my journal

My day in Photos....Cottage edition

Relaxing at the cottage…now this is the life :)
When I saw Wayne's and my hat on the table with our sunglasses on the front of them…it put a smile on my face for some reason :)

I didn't go for my regular walks today…I was a bit lazy.
But I did go for a couple of short walks and one (well 2, as I forgot to bring my phone to take photos with the first time) to the river.
So peaceful taking walks here.
This is our playground, teehee.
There are many trails, roads and a few gravel pits here near our camp.
This is one of the pits.

Wayne likes to make me routes or obstacle courses around them.
This doesn't look too bad now does it.
I was easy enough to go up it…..
But going down…was a different story, lol.
It wasn't high, but it was steep…like straight down.
I couldn't see where the gravel pile ended and the ground began….
But if Wayne can do it so can I, lol.
I got out and picked a few blueberries today.
The picking wasn't as good as a couple of weeks ago.
It would have probably been good picking last weekend….but I had a wedding to attend, teehee.

I hope you enjoyed spending the day with me… hope it was creative :)

My Day in Photos .... Cottage Life.

Another beautiful day at the cottage.
There was such a peaceful breeze off of the lake today.
It wasn't cool and it wasn't warm, it was just perfect.
The crisp clean fresh scent from the lake, came up into the cottage, and I didn't want to move…I just took it all in.
Then it got warm, so I decided it was time to do some planting.
I know it is late in the season to plant, but I kept forgetting to purchase bedding plants.
I had no energy today…I would plant a few flowers, and then seemed to need a break…it was crazy.
I perked up later in the afternoon.
So I went for a walk.
I picked some of these wild flowers, in hopes they will add some filler to the bouquets for Ashley's wedding.
I think they are pretty as a bouquet as they are :)
I am drying them to see how they keep.
I also found these pretty bell type flowers.
These would be perfect!!!
But when I cut off the leaves, there was a milky sticky substance that came from the cuts.
Plus I am thinking the petite blossoms will fall off once dried.
I even got a non-wedding project done, teehee.
I put together a simple sewing kit.
Wayne's mom had these items in a plastic bag. It served its purpose, but the thread was all tangled up and entwined in the sewing needles.
So I grabbed a soap container that has never been used and made it into a sewing kit.
Simple but easier to grab the items from.

Wayne and I went for a couple of quad rides today, him more than me.
Like I mentioned above, I didn't seem to have any get up and go today.
So I just chilled and did what needed to be done.
Early to bed for me tonight :)

I hope you all had a wonderful creative day :)

Tracy :)
