Post Dated:

My dad didn't want a funeral. He didn't want anything actually. He said if no one could visit him while he was alive why would he want them there when he was gone. Loved his logic :)

But my sister said she wanted something. So I suggested we all go out to dinner. But she wanted something more than that. So I suggested that we have a small gathering at my house for a little tribute to dad.
The grand kids put a memory board together.
I ran out and ordered a meat tray and some dainties.
It was nice, I am sure he wouldn't have objected to it.

  1. Tracy,
I've been away from the blogging world and just saw the post about your dad, I'm so sorry for your loss. What a way to find out, too.
Blessings to you and your family during this time of grief and know that many are thinking of you and praying for you!

  2. I wondered why you hadn't posted for a few days. I'm so sorry to hear about your dad and the sibling. You are right that sibling has to live with themselves. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  3. my grandma doesnt want a funeral either.

    i hope your doing ok!

  4. Tracy, I've just read all of your recent entries about the loss of your Dad. Losing someone you dearly love is difficult enough without dealing with sibling tension. You're right - your sibling has to live with what he or she said. These are difficult times for you, I know. I'll be thinking of you.

  5. Tracy, you usually blog so regularly that when a long time went by without a post I feared something bad had happened. So sorry for the loss of your dad. There is so much to do, so many phone calls and arrangements and dealing with family. Hang in there. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  6. I don't often comment on your blog but I do read when I can, and guessed that something must be wrong when you hadn't been around. I am so sorry for your loss and will be thinking of you at this difficult time.

  7. So Sorry I check you blog everyday and you had not posted so I knew something was wrong. Remember the good times and Keep you head together. It will take months to get things taken care of but remember yourself and allow yourself time to deal with all of these things. You showed your dad your love by the things that you did. Prayers for you and your family.

Leave me some love and I will return it right back to you :)
