This little cutie scared me today.
Our Rose was so deathly ill today, Heather and I rushed her to the vet.
Both the vet and I thought it was her kidneys.
Turns out she was dehydrated from being so sick and she also has diabetes.
Poor Rose.
But I am so happy she wasn't as sick as we thought she was.
Keeping an eye on her tonight as we had to give her, her first shot of insulin.
But on a better note, I did the drawing for my giveaways.
Onto My Day:
I spent most of my day at the vet's office or waiting by the phone for the vet to call.
If you have a pet you know how much a part of the family they are. It sure was a stressful day.
I hope you all had a creative Thursday.
Oh, today is Thankful Thursday.....you know what I am thankful for....Rose not being as ill as I thought she was.
I know diabetes is an awful disease, it runs in my husbands family.
But kidney failure ...even more scary.
Tracy :)

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all of the winners!
I'm glad that Rose is okay, I know how sick with worry you and your family must have been. I use to work with someone whose car had diabetes and she had to give her insulin shots. That's all I know about it though.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners :) So awesome of you to do this!
I am glad Rosie is OK. We had a cat that required twice daily shots of insulin - turned out it was not that hard to give the shots to him - just a plate of food and he was occupied. We kept a record of where the shot was given to avoid scar build up; front left, hind right, next day right front, left hind. We also had a cat that we had to give daily fluid injections for - that was harder, but anything for the fur children. Good Luck.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary Lou.
DeleteI can't get on your blog, if you leave me the link, I would love to come and visit you.
As for our Rose...after her having a reaction to her first insulin shot, we got her retested and now they say she doesn't have diabetes.
She seems to be doing better now...they think it may be her pancreas now :(
Oh, it does sound like a bad day, but I guess it could have been worse. I'm so happy to hear that your kitty was saved and that you figured out what was wrong. Good luck on the shot administering.
ReplyDeleteI wish I hadn't been so motivated to work on my house this week since I missed out on your drawing. It isn't like I really needed anything anyway. ;)
Congratulations to the winners! I bet it's some good stuff!

ReplyDeleteSo glad that your cat is ok! I have never, ever heard about a cat having diabetes. Poor kitty!! That can't be easy to give her insulin shots!

aww poor kitty. It's so hard when they're sick, and especially an ongoing illness like this. :(
