I finished the "Trick or Treat" banner I was working on yesterday :)
I love the colours and how fun it is :)
It was from a kit I had purchased at Hobby Lobby when I was in the States.
One thing with working from a kit…Nothing is perfect…or to my standards, lol.
But in the end, it looks great.
I hate to admit this but Heather had to help me with this part.
I have made my own rosette flowers or accordion medallions for years, so when I had to make these ones they confused me.
The strip of paper they supplied was already scored…and not perfectly I might add ;)
But when I fanned it out, it only was 1/2 a rosette?!
So I thought I would cut the paper in half lengthwise and attach them to make the strip longer, then it would make a full circle.
Then Heather came and read the instructions and explained it better.
I had to accordion fold it, pinch the middle (so it looks like a bow tie) then adhere the top edges together and then the bottom 2 edges together.
See a circle :)
After that is complete, then add adhesive (I used my hot glue gun) and adhere the folds in the centre.
I have never made one like this before….see old dogs can learn new tricks ;)
I am really happy with how it turned out.
Now I just have to figure out where to display it ;)
Ashley was also working on a banner today.
She actually hand cut all of her letters out and then came by to use some of my pattern paper to make the base of her banner.
I will share hers on another post as it deserves a post all of its own ;)
Today is Season #3 of the Walking Dead for us.
And here is my attire for today's Season ;)
I think I have run out of Walking Dead shirts now.
We plan on watching Season #4 this week. A little bit each day, until the new Season starts soon.
I hope you all had a very Creative Sunday :)

Working on a Banner
I can't tell you the last time I have used my Cricut.
Actually I have a bigger Cricut that my husband bought me a few years ago for Mother's Day.
It has too many buttons on it that I feel intimidated by it, so I still use my regular Cricut….when I use it that is.
Ashley showed me a banner that she wanted to make for Tyler's birthday….tomorrow, lol.
I forgot all about it until she asked me about it tonight.
So I quickly ran downstairs and started to work on it.
On thing I don't like about using the Cricut, I sure go through a lot of papers to find the correct size.
Of course I use scrap papers and not the good stuff ;)
Now back to work.
I hope you all had a very Creative Day today :)

Valentines Banner
Remember the little banner kit I bought at Target in their dollar spot?
Here it is all put together.
Kristy enjoyed making this for her big sister Ashley.
She didn't use the sparkly hearts.
Oh I'm wrong, I see two pink ones on either end of the banner.
I had to run out and get a few groceries….and of course toilet paper, teehee.
So I phoned Ashley to see when she was taking her lunch, so we could meet up at her house.
I made sure I got there before she did to put up the banner.
She was touched :)
It looks cute on the mantle that I made Ashley doesn't it ;)
See that little teepee?
That is Sebastian's (Ashley's cat) bed.
I dont' think he goes in there though, lol.
He has been know to lay on the top of it. Which scares Ashley as she thinks he may impale himself on the sticks. I am sure that wouldn't happen though.
I spent most of my day waiting for the refinishing guy to come by the house.
We had a couple of chairs from our new dining room set, that were flawed.
Also a few scratches on the table top.
I am a bit upset..okay a lot upset, as the sales person assured me that the finish was durable.
I questioned this as the table on display had many fine scratches on it.
He again reassured me that they now use a better finish and this wouldn't happen…Right!!
Enough of my complaining for today :)
I hope you all had a very creative Tuesday :)
