Happy Halloween...Scrapbooking Crop Decor and Tour

You know I love to host scrapbooking crops in my home and now that the cold weather is upon us, I get to do just this :)
I hosted a 12 hour Halloween crop last Saturday and I had a blast.
My daughter's and I decorated to the max.
Here is the witches table :)
I wish you could really see all of the small details to this!

The bodiless writer.
I love that my daughter printed up a story and put it in the typewriter.
She is so detailed.

Above the typewriter, we have this drawing that my middle daughter Heather drew when she was in high school years ago.
The Halloween banner was from a banner swap I was in that Gale (the happy stamper) put on.

I cute display beside Marilyn, my dress form who I dressed as a witch this year.

My rat skeleton in the cob web covered cage.
If you have noticed a lot of my books were used to give height to some of the display...all of the books were written by Stephen King ;)

Here is Marilyn :)
I later covered the front of the book cases with the same type of black webbed table cloth that Marilyn has as her skirt.

Our Photo wall.
I made the accordion flowers or medallions with pattern paper and the banner was a kit I bought and made from Hobby Lobby a couple of years ago.

Here are some of the ladies that came to my Halloween crop :)
Others came later, but we forgot to take more photos...I guess we were to busy working on our pages.

The Zombie Area
Here is my daughter Ashley and grandson Sawyer (who didn't have an interest in getting his picture taken).
Ashley did a lot of the decorating.
This area was the selfie/dress up area.
I had some costumes in a basket as well as my selfie stick if anyone wanted to take their picture.

I was playing around with trying to get a photo of me in my costume before my friends showed up.

My selfie in the zombie area with my zombie friend, teehee.

My crop was a blast, we all enjoyed ourselves and even got some projects done!!
I also did a video of the decor before everyone arrived so you can see it more detail :)
If you would like to watch it on my YouTube channel here is the link "Tracy's Treasures24"

I hope you are all having a safe and fun Halloween

Dead Inside…Do Not Open

I have to share this project I did for our Halloween display from yesterday.
You know I love my horror movies and I love my Walking Dead…this is suppose to represent the cafeteria door, in the hospital, of the 1st season of the Walking Dead!!

Here is how I did it.
Ashley had used this pallet for planting some succulents.

You can check out the link to that in this here post Ashley's pallet garden
When she moved out…she left this behind.

It wasn't as lush as it was when we first did this, so I decided to use this pallet for my project.
First step was digging out all of the soil…which wasn't the easiest as I had to dig in-between those wood planks.
I then took the landscape fabric off of the back and used the back of the pallet for my door.

I picked up this plastic chain and pad lock from the dollar store, along with the zombie hands, bwhaahaahaa.
I picked up some inexpensive handles from a local hardware store.
I painted the warning, on with black paint.
It was raining all day, and the paint ran…so I moved it under the eves.
You can faintly see the letters.
I then washed all of the words off and tried again with black gesso.

This is a photo of the actual door from the show.

Her is mine :)
I even added some nail polish on some of the hands, teehee.

We only received 33 Trick or Treaters.
So we have a few treats left over…well actually we even have less, as we have been enjoying them today ;)

Onto My Day:
I put away all of my outdoor Halloween display.
My work shed was in such disarray, that I ended up organizing it while waiting for some of the Halloween things to dry, as it rained all day and night yesterday.
I never got to create today.
But I did make some organizing lists, so I can start my organizing :)

Gearing up for the Walking Dead soon!!!!!

Hope you all had a very Creative Day :)

Happy Halloween

I love Halloween.
But then again I love Christmas, Easter, Spring, Fall…okay lets face it I love all the celebrations that give me an excuse to decorate and spend time with my family :)
This is the "Trick or Treat" banner my daughter Ashley had made for her mantel.
I love that her cat Sebastien got in on the photo :)

Wayne was so happy to be able to carve pumpkins this year.
I found them last minute and picked up 3.
One for Heather, Kristy and Wayne.
The girls bailed on us last night, so Wayne and I ended up doing them ourselves…I guess something we may have to get used to.
Wayne carved the Grime Reaper and I did the spider and (you guessed it) the zombie hand coming out from the grave ;)

Heather and I decorated the front yard today.
Every year we add a little something to our display.
This year it was the ghosts that Ashley and I made and the "Warning-Keep Away- Just buried alive" tape around the front yard.
As we were decorating, a car pulled up and they were just watching us.
The lady finally explained that she takes some senior citizens around town looking at outdoor Halloween displays. The seniors don't get to see the little ones dressed up any more, so they like to see how everyone is decorating their yards.
She told me it made the (senior lady who was with her) so happy to see us decorating as no one else in my neighbourhood had, except for pumpkins.
I was happy that I could make someone smile today :)

These foam headstones have been with us for awhile.
I stick them in the ground with old pencil crayons…every year they break….I wonder how many are stuck in the lawn, lol.
I told Heather, next year I need to attach this onto some wood with a steak I can then hammer in the ground.
The hands are new as well. I picked them up for cheap after Halloween last year.

Here are my ghosts :)
I hung them on a shepherds hooks so that they could sway in the wind.

This is at Ashley's house.
She picked up some really freaky masks last year and a full sized skeleton.
So she dressed the skeleton in some of Tyler's old clothes and propped it outside on a kitchen chair.
I think I need one of these for my outdoor display for next year ;)

I am hosting a 6 hour scrapbooking crop in my home tomorrow.
As I was pulling out all of my Halloween decorations, I just put them on my table.
I have had this black plain wreath in my stash for a long, long time. So I grabbed some odds and ends that were on my table and wrapped them in the wreath.
This took my no more than 3 minutes to put together ;)

As I had mentioned above I love to decorate my whole house.
Yes this includes the bathroom, lol.
I found this stick-on decor at the dollar store and just had to get it.
Funny story:
The lid was up when Kristy went in the bathroom.
She put the lid down (as our kitty Luna likes to play in the water…gross).
We heard Kristy scream…I guess it surprised her.
I have to say, we were all busting a gut laughing.

I hope you all had a great Halloween and a Creative Friday :)
