I will let you have a break from my journals and go onto my other obsession…Washi Tape!!
If you have been following my blog for any amount of time, then you know I really like Washi Tape or decorative tape.
I like it so much, that my collection keeps growing.
Growing so much so, that I have gone through 5 different container to accommodate them.
I have a few blog posts and a video that shares my growth.
Here is my first post with a video :) "Washi Storage with Video"
And another one "Yup, Another Washi post" I share a few uses, besides crafting, on this one.
Oh and I will throw in my video on how I make my washi tape thinner "Washi on a Diet"
Now onto todays post :)
This is my latest storage for my washi tape.
It is a H=10 3/4xW=13.5xD=13 Sterilite 3 drawer container.
It is a bit bulky to carry around, but I am working on a solution for that ;)
I use to foam core board to separate the rows. The problem with that is that they would fall over when I moved it around.
Aslo when opening the drawers, I couldn't reach the back washi as the drawers don't come out without force.
I was thinking of using empty kitchen wrap containers to put the rows of washi in…but how long would that take to collect enough for my needs.
And here I thought I was a patient person, lol.
Well, look at what I found at the dollar store…they are perfect…well pretty much perfect ;)
I can fit 4 of these trays in one drawer.
Where I could fit 5 rows with the foam core board.
But with the foam core board I still couldn't reach the back washi tapes and they still got mixed up.
I picked up 3 of these trays yesterday to see if they would work.
Then picked up 9 more when I drove Kristy to work.
When I got home I got straight to work.
But then realized that I had more washi tape than trays…so I braved the -40c weather and picked up 4 more.
Here it is all nice and organized.
Oh about reaching the back trays…..I will just have to pull out the front tray and pull the others forward to reach the back one :)
I bet you noticed the trays of washi tape on the top of the drawer container….This container sits upon another drawer container just like this one, so I will just move these 4 into the top drawer of that container.
It is so much smoother to open the drawers now as tape doesn't get stick, and so much easier to see what I have :)
Ohhh this makes me so Happy :)
I think I should have been dusting instead of organizing my washi tape, as this is Luna playing with the dust particles in the sun beams, lol.
But this put a smile on mine and Heather's faces and organizing my washi tape was so much more fun than dusting :)
I hope you all had a very Creative Monday :)

Yup another Washi Post ;)
Okay, I lied.
I said I wouldn't post about washi tape again, but here I am ;)
But in my defence, I had to share it with you, as today for the Planner Photo Challenge, is about Washi tape ;)
Day #5 is "Wishy Washi"
So here is my Washi Tape collection :)
Ohhh the colours, ohhhh the possibilities.
Ohhh I have a problem ;)
Now you may look at all these beautiful colours and patterns of washi and think, well what the heck does she do with them all.
So I thought I would share some of the things I have done with it. Click on the links if you want to check out the posts.
1. My Planner Pages of course.
2. Cards
3. My Journal
But thats not all...oh no.
I use it to decorate the tops of my note pads. I like my supplies to be pretty.
I used to do this by adhering pattern paper to the tops of the note books, but washi tape is adhesive, so one less step ;)
I also use it to mark my turf.
Thats right, I decorate my charger cords so I know which ones are mine.
Hubby wanted skulls and cross bones for his, but I have yet to find it ;)
My artistic photo, teehee.
I also use it to back up my labels. It just adds some pretty colour to the labels :)
I also made pretty twist ties out of the washi tape.
I just sandwich a twist tie in between two pieces of washi tape.
If you can't find skinny twist ties, just visit your grocery store, they have a lot in the produce department...and hey they're free ;)
If you remember from this post here, I used to store my washi tape in floss containers. They are inexpensive and can hold a good number of tapes.
Well I was working on my 4th or 5th container and some tapes were to high and the container wouldn't close.
So I had to re-think my storage.
I picked these containers up at Target (yes we have them here in Canada now).
I like that they come in a two pack and the containers click together and have a handle at the top. Check out the photo above.
One thing I did do was add some cardboard strips to section off the tapes. I didn't like that they rolled around and got mixed up.
So there you have it another blog post about Washi Tape.
And this time I'm not promising I won't do another, lol.
Hope you all have a very creative Thursday :)

New Washi in the House ;)
If you know me then you know I have a bit of an addiction to washi tape.
When it first came out, I thought whats the big deal.
I thought why not just cut a thin piece of pattern paper and adhere it to your page.
Then I tried my hand at making my own, and thought I would make it if I wanted it and why would anyone buy it?
Then I found some for a great price and thought, what the heck, I'll try it.
And I was hooked.....hook, line and sinker ;)
Now to my defense I do use it almost everyday.
I use it in my day planner, my cards, my journals and just for fun :)
Here are the tapes I purchased while I was on my trip last week :)
I had to go out today and heard a while ago that Toys R Us carried washi tape. We have just recently got a Toys R Us here in town. I have no reason to go into this store as my girls are way past the age of toys...but apparently, I'm not, lol.
I found these near the posters.
I usually know all the supplies I have...but I see a green washi with lady bugs in the photo above, oops ;)
Tonight being Thursday, Wayne and I get our groceries for camp for the weekend.
We always get them from Superstore.
I had heard from other crafter's that they had picked washi tape up from there.
After asking, and trying to explain what washi tape is to the sales girl (decorative tape with patterns on it, it is small rolls, no... not like duct tape, it is re positionable, crafters use it) I was then directed in the direction on where it might be. I think next time I will bring a roll with me ;)
I found these rolls at Superstore in with the barbie stickers and crayons :)
I store my Washi tape in inexpensive floss containers.
I now have 4 containers, but need a 5th :O
I need the portability and like that I can separate it in colours.
One thing I am finding out, is not all washi is the same size and some don't fit in there as well.
I may be looking for a better storage solution.
I will try and refrain from posting anymore washi tape posts..but I can't make any promises, lol.
I hope you all had a creative Thursday :)
