When we were at the Scrapbook for Heart crop. We were interviewed and got our photo's taken.
This picture was on the front page. I tried to hide behind Lynne, but the photographer told me to move and to smile. So here I am like it or not. Yup I'm the one at the back. Here is the write up. Pretty big layout. This was our table.
Here is a video on how I store or organize my sketches, layout ideas and quotes.
This is actually my 31 day video, but I didn't include my introduction video in my numbers. So technically this is day 30 out of 31 days of video's.

The last 3 times I have tried to upload one of my video's on my blog it keeps cutting out my blog. Boy this drives me crazy.

Onto my day:

I had to go to the police station today. Oh I know what you are thinking, but nooooo I'm a good girl :)
I had to go there to pick up one of my dad's guns. It is a prohibited firearm. So I had to go and pick it up to get it deactivated. The funny thing is, I have no papers to carry or buy firearms. I have not taken any classes, I know nothing about guns.
My brother on the other hand, collects guns, shoots firearms, has all the proper papers to buy and use firearms, but he couldn't get it.

But because I am the executor to my dad's estate and the gun is a prohibited firearm, only I can pick it up. Now that makes sense doesn't it...I am being sarcastic here. Once it is deactivated, anyone can own it, because it won't be able to be fired.

The rest of my day was spent at home. Besides sounding like I was in a war zone, no I wasn't shooting the gun, teehee. Hubby was playing video games, "Left for Dead" and "Call of Duty". So lots of shooting going on. I was so low on iron today, I just had to laz around and take a nice long nap. I did get some book work done today, but just didn't have any energy for too much.

Scrapbook for Heart.

As most of you know yesterday was my anniversary, it was also the 15 hour crop.
Yesterday's post was dedicated to our lives.
Today it's about the crop :)
As I mentioned it was for the Heart and Stroke foundation, which is close to my heart as I have heart disease, and so does a lot of my family.
I am no photographer, but wanted to document my time there. So bear with me, teehee.
Here is a long shot of the event. Yes that is a new born baby in the photo. Actually there were 2 babies there. They were quiet and didn't cause a problem.
There was even a 6 year old girl there that could scrap with the best of them. As I was nonchalantly walking around checking out every one's work, I came across this little girl who was scrapping up a storm.
I asked her if I could see some of her pages. With the biggest smile she started at the front of her album, and showed me every page with pride :)
I asked her if she was going to stay the whole time (it lasted till midnight) Yes I am she replied. What a cutie. Here is our sign Lynne and I made for our table. We called ourselves "The Paper Flirts". Lynne wanted so bad to win the best display. It was a survivor theme. She got tiki torches and put in paper flames, she made us wear black shirts and gave us all red matching bandanna's. They got a large cauldron to put our named torches in. Sadly for her we didn't win, teehee. But a news crew came by our table and interviewed us and took our pictures.

Here is my work area. Yup not anymore space left then when I am at home.
I was getting anxious thinking on what to bring for materials, never mind which pictures to bring. So I had a little talk with myself and reminded myself that this is suppose to be fun. So I took some projects that I wanted to finish up and that was that :D

They had classes going on during the day. I was late in taking an altered tin case class. I would have loved that one. I did do a card though. It is on the table at the back, the pink and brown one. I forgot my sanding block so Ashley came by with her boyfriend and brought me it, so sweet of her.
There was also massages going on $5.00 for 10 minutes. I have never had one before so I went. It kind of hurt actually. Not sure if it was suppose to. My spine also cracked, lol. I was thinking, this is a massage not a chiropractor appointment, teehee. But my back did feel better at the end.

We also got snacks, a nice lunch and supper. There were draws and contests throughout the evening as well. At the end of the evening they asked us to write down our input for next year, on what they could improve on. They also told us the tickets are going up next year by $10.00, so the price will be $65.00 a ticket.
A few of the women told me that I have to teach some classes next year. I told them if I am paying $65.00 for a ticket I am there to do my stuff, not teach a class, lol.

I did make hubby a cute Anniversary card while I was there.
I got the idea from Valita's Designs. The shading on my heart should have been lower down I think.
Don't you just love my rack, lol. Hubby enjoyed the day with the girls. Actually they went out. Hubby bought this TV to play his video games on, and daughter Ashley bought herself an IPhone. Like father, like daughter.
Today was spent in my robe all day. I even took a nap this afternoon.
I was so lazy today. My case with last nights stuff is still sitting in the front porch.

A Real Love Story

I have a story to tell.
It is a story about love.
Not the fairy tale type of love, but real love.

Once upon a time there was a girl and a boy.
The boy fell in love with the girl the first time he saw her.
One day when the boy found out the girl was single and when he finally got up the courage, he asked the girl out on a date.
The girl accepted, making it understood that it was just a date. She didn't want a relationship.
The boy figuring he got his foot in the door, was going to sweep the girl off her feet.
And that he did.
The girl couldn't believe that there was a boy out there that could treat her any better. He would open doors for her, he would respect her and really listen to her. He didn't judge her or try to force his opinions on her.
He let her be her, and loved her for it.

When the girl left home at 16 and went out on her own.
The boy was there for her. When she felt no one else cared, no one asked how she was, when her family forgot about her. The boy was there.
He let her do everything on her own, but she knew he was there if she needed him.
When the girl's health got bad and she was ill, and she wanted to keep it private. He respected her wishes, and he was there for her. He was there when she was sick, he was there for the many doctors appointments, he was there for all the tests, and he was there for the results.
The girl knew this boy was the person she wanted to grow old with, the person who would be there for her as she would be there for him.
4 years later, the boy, now a man, put a ring in a single rose, got on his one knee and asked the girl, now a woman, to spend the rest of their lives together.
She accepted.
1 year they got married. They didn't have a big celebration. It was just them and their 2 friends as witnesses. It was quiet, just like them, it was personal, just like them. It was just them through the years, it was just them for that special day.
1 1/2 years later they had their first baby, a baby girl. They were so happy. They couldn't believe that they (the two of them, together) made this beautiful perfect little baby girl.
7 months later, they found out they were going to have another baby.
This wasn't meant to be. The baby was lost and they grieved together.
Only to find out that a month later that they were expecting again.
9 months later, another beautiful baby girl was born. How can life be any better than this.
4 years later another beautiful baby girl was born. Life can get better.

Like I said this is a love story.
It not a perfect story. There is loss, pain, grief and there are times of question.
But this is a Real Love story. Not everything is perfect. It couldn't be or how could they appreciate the perfect days.
They didn't live happily ever after, their story isn't finished.
There will still be highs and lows, there will still be sickness and health, there will still be riches and poors. But through it all, they will be together, just as they were at the beginning.
Happy 23rd Anniversary Wayne.
I loved you then, I love you now, I will love you forever.

Getting ready for a crop

No video for today or tomorrow.

I was really busy today. Hubby and I had to run around. I was on the phone on and off all day, hopefully tying up some loose ends to my dad's estate.
Then I had Friday Night Scrap booking here.
I am going to a 15 hour crop tomorrow for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
I don't go to crops. I hate packing up my supplies. If I made kits, it would be so much easier. But I am a procrastinator and always wait til the last minute.
I am going with 2 of my friends and but don't know the other women at our table. Lynne (my one friend) is a bit competitive and wants to win for the best table set up.
So I was in charge of making the banner. Lynne was nice enough to come by and help :)
1st time using stickles (thanks Kim)...now I know what the fuss is about :)
I just wanted to bring a couple bags, nothing crazy. Well you know how it goes, I might need this, I may need that.
I did only bring 2 bags, but one was a small suitcase though, teehee.
I didn't bring anything to scrapbook actual layouts. I couldn't be stressed with picking out pictures and papers. Tomorrow is hubby's and my anniversary :)
I won't be here to be with him. 1st time ever. He was a bit sad, until he found out it wasn't an over night crop. I did tell him, I could come home and visit him before he goes to sleep ;) He liked that idea, lol.

How stamp on acetate

I did another video today, I think the shortest one yet ;)
Just a quick one on how to stamp on acetate. I am sure you all know how to do this, but I only have 3 more video's left on my 31 day challenge and I haven't had time to work on any projects.
So if blogger and YouTube co-operate tonight, here it is.
Day 29 out of 31 days of video's.

That is so weird. It didn't work at first. It cut out again, I had to save it first. Weird.

I worked all day today. I didn't even leave the house. I really don't care to leave the house this time of year, and it wasn't that bad out -11C.
We got company tonight. Wayne's dad and his wife came by to see our new appliances, and chat for a while.
Then back to work for me :)
So because I worked most of the day today (besides the little nap I took to get rid of my headache) hubby and I watched movies. Well honestly hubby watched "Band of Brothers" and I watched YouTube video's.
He loves this series, I think he watches this at least 3 times a year.

Thankful Thursday:
1. That I can work out of my home.
2. That I didn't have to leave the house today
3. Hubby drove and picked Kristy up from school, so I didn't have to go out.
4. I got to stay in my lounge pants all day.

Happy Birthday Wayne, and some Foil Tags.

1st I want to wish my hubby a Happy Birthday!!!!

I did a quick video today on something I wanted to try. Metal or Foil Tags. After I made the video I thought about maybe using my xyron and heavy tin foil?

Onto My Day:

I worked all day today. Almost done :)

Like I said it was Hubby's Birthday today. He got to spend the first part of it at the dentist.

We wouldn't let him open any of his gifts until Ashley got home from work during her lunch break.

He loved his gifts.

In our family, when it's your birthday you get to pick which restaurant you want to eat at. I had to keep reminding him that it was his birthday and it was his choice. He kept thinking of foods that the girls liked or didn't like.

Well he finally decided on The Prospector. It is a local steak house. The meat is local, and hubby loves it. I love the salad bar and their dinner buns, so yummy.

I wanted to get a photo of Wayne and his girls :)

Everything is a big joke with them. They took the tiny chocolate squares off the cake, to put in their teeth :)
I wonder why we don't have a decent family picture, lol.

Light post tonight. I need my sleep. Working with numbers all day tires my brain.

Review those resolutions and a charms tutorial.

I know the 31 day challenge is over, but I want to finish this. So I am going to finish it, but on my time. I started late as I heard about it late. So really I am only late by one video.
I was asked how I made these gear charms for my Steampunk coin envelope mini.
So here is # 27 out of 31 days of video's.



On to my Day:
Hubby and I had to do our errands today. One of them was our banking.
When I asked the teller last week for the coin envelopes and why I wanted them. She was skeptical, and told me she wanted to see it when I was finished.
So I brought it with me. I was sure glad that the bank wasn't busy, as all the tellers were surrounded around my book, asking questions and I think they really loved it. I had to explain a couple times how they were made with the coin envelopes, they couldn't believe it.
They told me I should sell them.
Not in your life.
I want this to be my passion, not my work. Plus we all know you would never make your wages with the time you spend on these.
So that was a good part of my day ;)

Being the 1st of the month I thought that I would review my years resolutions.
My Resolutions for 2011 are:
Scrap booking:
Do a double page layout once a month (passed this month)
Try my hand at some sketches -(not yet, fail)
Try some challenges -(passed)
Finish my Camp/cottage journal-(not yet, fail )
Make more mini albums, even if they don't have a purpose. -(passed)

Other Crafts:
Make my Christmas quilt that I bought for this year -(not yet,fail)
Sew my purses that I bought patterns for -(not yet, fail)
Continue to enjoy my paper crafts -(passed)
Make the projects that I wanted to make last year-( passed )
Tweak my blog and YouTube channel. -(not yet- fail)
Life Goals:

Get more active, I need this for my health, not an option-(fail)
Loose 10 lbs these two go hand in hand (fail)
I would love to end the soda but not doable...so cut down.-(fail)
Eat more healthy -(fail)
Be creative everyday. This does not mean making a project everyday, but being creative in one way or the other. (Major Pass)
Put myself first. This is going to be the hardest of all. I put my family and friends first-(semi pass)
Read more.-(fail)

I worked all day.
I did take a few breaks and tried to catch up on my blog and YouTube followers. I don't think I replied to 1/4 of them.
Sorry I haven't forgot about you. I will try and get to you tomorrow.

Proud Tuesday:
1. That the tellers loved my mini. I think they truly did, they weren't just trying to be nice.
2. That I finished the rest of the bag of Caramel Puff corn, so I can't eat any tomorrow ;)
3.That I accomplished some of my yearly goals
4. Tomorrow is Hubby's Birthday and I already bought his gift :)
