We have a very Creative Kitty

Our Luna…what can I say about this adorable, yet mischievous cat of ours.
She loves to steal my craft tools and hid them on me.
I am still looking for my black and brown sharpie pens she was batting around.

Well, now she has discovered how to get in between the studs in our downstairs ceiling.
Our downstairs isn't fully finished.
We still have a couple of storage areas, our bathroom and our laundry room that needs the dropped ceiling put up.
So she found an opening and then walks along the piping and on top of the ceiling tiles.
Here is Luna peeking her head in to watch Kristy use the rest room, lol.
So the last couple of days has been finding all her entry points and blocking them off.
I think we have finally outsmarted her….I think ;)

I have been having fun watching scary movies with Wayne and writing in a new journal….I have even done a bit of drawing…not well, mind you ;)
I am eagerly waiting for the new Walking Dead to start.
But in the mean time, I am enjoying my only Coke of the week and watching earlier episodes of the Walking Dead ;)

I hope you all had a Creative Sunday :)

Free Frozen Yogurt…its a good thing.

Today was a special day at where Kristy works.
It was their Grand Opening, even though they have been open since September.
So today, they were giving away 1,000 bowls of free frozen yogurt.
Heather and I went later in the afternoon.
I only took a little bit as I wasn't hungry (as Wayne and I had gone out for lunch).
When Kristy saw that I didn't have much in my bowl, she took it from me and filled it up, lol.
Looks yummy doesn't it….it was ;)

As I mentioned above, Wayne and I went out for lunch.
We went to Montana's.
I order the baked chicken pasta.
I love how they presented it. So cute in this mini frying pan.

I decided to clean, then organize my craft room.
I emptied some of my cabnets and put the contents in baskets and boxes.
This was probably about a month or more ago.
Last night during my Friday Night Scrapbooking night, I was looking for some supplies and it took me forever to find them.
So while Wayne was watching a football game I went downstairs and started to go through those boxes I had under my desk.
See that large black box on the chair…those are the supplies I am not keeping.
I went through and sorted all of those boxes, but now there is the job of putting them away.
I still have to go through the rest of my craft room, re-organize and put my supplies in a way that better works for me.
It is an on-going process isn't it.

I hope you all had a very Creative Day :)

An animal kind of day

Today was a pretty fun day :)
Heather and Kristy both worked this morning, but after that we went to see "Little Ray's Reptile Zoo"
They traveled here in our city and the girls wanted to see the animals.
Well actually, Kristy wanted to see the tiger.
Kristy loves tigers so much that she has adopted one, and even got a tattoo of a tiger on her back.
As excited as she was, she was a bit disappointed that she didn't get to pet it.

But we did get to pet this alligator :)

We pet the hedgehog :)

We even got to pet the fox.

I wasn't going to touch the tarantula, but as you can see, I am holding it in my hand.

I just couldn't be outdone by my daughter Heather who held it first.
Kristy didn't though.
On our second trek around the building the lady had asked Kristy is she was ready to hold it yet.
Kristy said okay, until the tarantula's one leg touched her hand, and that was it from her, lol.

We all pet the skink.

But we came so Heather could see the fox.

And so Kristy could see the tiger :)

I had a great day with my girls.
And to top the evening off, I got to spend time and create with some great friends :)
Our friend Barb came to town for a visit and we were so happy that she saved an evening to spend with us :)
But can you believe we didn't take one photo of us all together….I can't believe it.
Better start photo shopping us in a photo Denise ;)

I hope you all had a creative day :)
I started on another 2 page spread.

Art Journaling…Come Learn with Me…Journals

This is the second video in my series of art journaling.
To check out my 1st post, click the link "Art Journaling"
I mentioned I was going to start with Gesso, but I figured we should start with journals, as that is the most important art supple we will need :)

There are many types of journals.
Some are coil, spiral or ring bound and some are stitched or glued in their binding.
You may think it doesn't really matter, but the more you work with each type, you will figure out with type you prefer.
The bound journals lay nice and flat. They are great for working on each page individually.
The journals that are bound by stitching or glue are great for working on two page spreads…can you tell I"m a scrapbooker ;)

Also what to look for in a journal is the type of paper that they contain.
I personally like water colour paper because the paper is quite thick and takes mediums very well.
But then again you can use thin paper or any type of paper if you treat it with Gesso first….but lets not get ahead of ourselves ;)

I made a video where I explain my findings in more detail :)
If you would rather watch my video on my YouTube channel (as my blog doesn't show the full screen) just click on the link :)   "Tracy's Treasures24"
I hope to inspire you to try art journaling, where we can all learn together :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Day :)

The Computer Kept Calling

Today seemed like a computer day ;)
I had a list (one of many) of things I wanted to get accomplished today.
I completed 2 1/2 "todo's" out of the 6 I had hoped to get done.
The computer just kept calling my name, lol.

But I did complete a layout that I had started a couple of weeks ago.
Here is a little peek at part of the layout :)
I have been doing a video for each layout I have completed, I haven't done a video yet on this layout, so I will share the full layout when I get to the video.

I really like how this cluster of embellishments look.
Our kitty Luna likes it as well.
I know this because I have caught her many times chomping on the butterflies, lol.
I think she is a creative kitty as I have found my journal pen on the floor by the baseboards, I found a full washi tape in my garbage that I tape to my working table.
I was searching for my one distress ink applicator…I searched and searched.
I finally found it way under our landing at the bottom of the stairs.
There were a few of her treasures under there, teehee.

I hope you all had a Creative Wednesday :)

We Remember

In Remembrance to all of the soldiers and those who served I dedicate this post to you.
I wear a poppy on my jacket as do many other Canadians so show that we will never forget.
At 11:00 on this day, I stand in silence, no matter where I am, to remember those who have served.
I want to thank you.
I can't imagine living anywhere but in my great country.

Here is my post from last year…"We are Thankful"

Come Learn with Me….Art Journaling

Well it is about time.
I have finally made the decision to use my art journal products/mediums and create some art journal pages.

I have wanted to try my hand at art journaling, and I did….kind of.
I did a whole art journal.
Click on the link if you want to watch it on my YouTube channel "Tracy's Treasures24"

But in my opinion this art journal was from a scrapbookers view point.
I used a lot of pattern paper, stamps and markers…but none of the art journal supplies that most veteran art journalers use.
I have most of the supplies, but I over think things and never actually used the products that I have.

If you remember, I made a challenge with a blog friend Caroline from "Caroline's not so new hobby"
We both wanted to get into art journaling and figured what better way then to jump right in, and challenge each other ;)
Even though I am a spontaneous type of person, I wanted to learn as much as I could about these products before I took the plunge.

Then I thought, maybe we could learn together :)
So I am going to be doing some videos on what I know (even if it is limited), what I have learned and what I discovered about these different mediums.
Sounds fun doesn't it????
I hope so, and I hope you will follow along and share your knowledge on whichever mediums I am working on perfecting at the time :)

Here is a introduction video…bloopers and all ;)

I hope you all had a very Creative Monday :)
