Garden Girl Birthday Card

I made this card for a friend who loves to garden, and she has a beautiful yard to prove it.
It was her birthday last week, but we all celebrated it last night, with our usual dinner and a movie.

I used one of Val's Digital Design's images called "Kididdles Girl Summer".
I think she is so cute.
The summer bonnet did not come with this image, I fussy cut it from the papers I used.
I did a bit of fussy cutting on this card as there was a cut apart paper in this paper pack from Mary Engelbreit.
The flower pot by her feet were fussy cut and then popped up with a foam dimensional.

As well as the bird house and the "Friend" sentiment.

I also fussy cut the trelles, sentiment for the banner and the blossoms at the bottom.
For the base of my card, I used papers from "Paper Garden"
They sent me some of their card stock to try and I have to say, I really like them for card bases and embossing.
I really like the look of their shimmer paper and I found (with my last card) it embosses so nicely.

Here is the card closed up to be put in the envelope.

I followed this sketch by MFT, but.....again was to late in posting to my blog to enter the challenge.
I have such good intentions though ;)

I really like making these easel cards.
Not only are they fun, but I love how nicely they stand up to display them :)

Oh and look, I did a quick video :)

I hope you all have a very Creative Day :)

Fairy Fiona and another challenge

Today I am going to share this card that I made using one of Val's Digital Design new images.
She calls these newest images her Kididles.
They are being released on April 2nd….but I was lucky enough and Val sent me them to play with early :)
Now isn't this little fairy so cute?!!

I think she is just so adorable and I love fairies and all that is whimsical, so that is why I chose this one to colour up first :)
Her name is Fairy Fiona.
They aren't up on Val's site until Saturday, but you can take a peek at her other digital images but clicking on this link "Val's Digital Designs"
If you want to check out what Val did with Fiona, you can check out her blog "Val's Creative Studio"
I coloured Fiona up with my Copic markers….I seem to be a bit out of practice, I really need to get back into my colouring :)

I have been totally re-organizing my craft room and came across these cute tiny kites…I thought it was perfect for this spring-like image :)

The inside of this card :)

One last look at my card :)

And look, another challenge for me :)
I followed the "Mojo Monday sketch challenge" for this card….now lets see if I can remember after I post, to link it….I usually forget to link it until the next day or so, lol.

Like I had mentioned above, I have been in the craft room, re-orgazning and oh my, I have a lot of work ahead of me.
So far I have done my paper scraps, 6x6 papers, 12x12 papers, card stock and stickers.
I told Kristy I was hoping to get my room completed by Friday.
She thought that was quite funny.

I hope you all have a very Creative Day :)

Steampunk with Hearts

I was suppose to be packing for a big crop I am going to tomorrow.
But instead, I decided to colour up this sweet image from "Val's Digital Designs".
Not only did I colour this image, I also make a card.

Val is having a challenge over on her blog "Val's Creative Studio"
Her challenge is very simple, to use hearts on your card…that's it.
Since I am a fluttering Design Team member for her images, I thought this would be a fun challenge to try.
It would be awesome if you would join in on her challenge.
If you do enter her challenge, it is not necessary to use one of her images on your card, but as you can see, they are really sweet images.

This is my card before I added the hearts down the side.
Once I punched the border punch, I knew I wanted to use some of these tiny hearts on my card.
Then I totally forgot, until I was cleaning up my work surface and saw them under a piece of paper, teehee.
So I adhered them and then retook the photos ;)

I thought I would share the colours I used.
I don't have the flesh colours as I had put them away after I used them…I am so forgetful.
The hair colour was a new one for me, I used E35, E08 and R59.  I love this combinations…but then again,  I seem to love to colour red hair.

I am entering my card in "Always Playing with Paper" challenge. Here is the colour/sketch challenge.
As you can see I used the sketch for this challenge card.

I am also entering my card in "Simon says Wednesday Challenge" All things Bright and Beautiful.
I am thinking my card is pretty bright…plus this girl is beautiful :)  So I think my card fits ;)

I hope you all had a Creative Friday :)
Lets hope my bag has enough creative supplies to last me for the 15 hour crop I am attending ;)

Fall Girl card and guest DT for Val's Creative Studio

I was asked by Val, if I wanted to be a guest designer (or a free agent) for Val's Creative Studio.
I love this, as I get the fun of colouring and making cards without the stress of deadlines.
My kind of creating :)

Here is a card I made with one of Val's cute digital images called "Punky Boo wearing Dress and Bloomers"
Val sent me some images a while ago, but because I am just now colouring them up, I wanted this one to be in the beautiful Autumn colours.

Now isn't she just so cute :)
I love the look of Val's digital images, I really like the folk art style and that is what these images remind me of.
Now don't pay attention to the speck on her cheek…..I didn't notice it until it was uploaded…it is just a fuzzy, its gone now ;)

If you are wondering, I actually remembered to put my Copic markers aside to share with you the colours I used ;)

I wanted to add an embellishment to this card, but still wanted it to have the Fall theme to it.
So I used an orange flower and then punched some maple leaves out of the pattern paper.
I also punched some twigs out of some different pattern paper and added the wire left over from the flower. I just wrapped it around a pen insert to get the spiral shape to it.

I had mentioned at the beginning of the year that I wanted to try some challenges…I think I have done 2 or 3 this year….I'm such a procrastinator ;)
So I thought I would try a Mojo Monday sketch challenge.
Here is a LINK with more details on this challenge, and here is their sketch.

Again here is my card for this sketch challenge.
As you can see I turned the sketch to better accommodate my image :)

Thank you so much Val.
I am touched that you thought of me to add some colour to your adorable art.

Hope you all had a Creative Saturday :)

Tracy :)
