Berry Picking Time

I love blueberries…but I think I love picking them even more.
I don't like to eat them on their own.
I need them in a pie, jam, jelly or a blueberry cheesecake.
I think that is one of the reasons that make me a great berry picker…I don't eat as I pick ;)

Wayne and I found a great patch today.
Here is our pickin's :)
Not that it is a competition or anything….but my bucket is more full than his, teehee.
Now look at all of this yumminess all packaged up.
24 cups we picked :)
I like to bag them in 4 cup increments as that is what most recipes call for.

I also enjoy a couple of nice long quad rides.
Also got in a nice walk today.
As I was walking I noticed that when I walked by this one tree, only one leaf would flutter on the stem.
There wasn't a breeze, so this caught my attention.
I kept thinking it was waving at me…I went around my walking trail 4 times and each time I would go around, this same leaf would "wave" at me.
I know…there is probably a scientific reason why this happened….but I am happy thinking it was waving at me, so don't burst my happy bubble, teehee.

I hope you all have a very Creative Day :)
Here are a few other blueberry posts I have done.

More wedding projects

In the work shop/shed again working on wedding projects.
My goal this summer was to clean up and totally organize my work shed…I still have time :)
So Ashley found another project that she has her eye on.
It was one of those…if we have time…projects.
I drew up the plans last weekend, and calculated the amount of wood I'd need and ran out first thing this morning to pick up the supplies.

Even Heather got in on the action.
Once I had all of the pieces nailed together, I got Heather to add another nail to each corner for a bit more stability.
Thanks Heather.
I snuck this photo of her, shhhhh.

Here it is all put together :)
Ashley calls this a chandelier.
She got this idea from a local flower shop…but they used an old glass panelled door…without the glass.
I know it may not look like much, but once we add all of the pretty greenery and flowers it will be so pretty.

Don't mind the messy yard…I've been too busy to tend to it lately.
Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

Ashley had mentioned that she wanted 2 or 3 of these to hang from the beams at the venue.

I asked her how many beams there were again?
She had mentioned 6…so 6 I made.
I figured making 6 isn't really anymore work than making 2 or 3.

I thought I was done with the projects….but I think there is one more that Ashley would like me to do.
I was wondering why she hasn't been delegating the wedding projects to the groomsmen.
I actually think she doesn't trust anyone else with them.
She is a bit particular (yes lets use that word) as I am, so I can totally understand, teehee.

I hope you all have a very creative day :)

My Friend…a Pocket letter

I had mentioned last weekend that Sharon and I made pocket letters all weekend.
This is one that I secretly made for Sharon :)
Funny as we were sitting beside each other and she didn't realize that this was for her, teehee.
I tried to incorporate some of her favourite things and her favourite colour…blue.

I used this "Friends" sticker..isn't it sweet.
The only thing is it blended in with the light background.
So I added some strips of washi tape to the paper so it would show up clearer.

I brought my huge binder of stickers and picked out this really pretty frame.

I stamped this sentiment…I thought it was perfect for our friendship, as we are always laughing about something…..even if no one else finds it funny, teehee.

Sharon loves hummingbirds :)
So this sticker was not only pretty, but perfect for her Pocket Letter.
And I got to use one of my brand new stamps "Best Friends"

Sharon is also a BIG coffee lover.
Not your fancy mocha latte cappa frapachino (as you can tell, I don't drink coffee, teehee) but old fashion coffee ;)
I stamped this coffee cup, fussy cut it out and then coloured this heart on the coffee cup.

I had a couple of these jars that I had punched out in my stash.
This one was just plain grey card stock and it didn't really pop off of this card.
I added some layers of butterfly washi tape and voila…butterflies in a jar :)

Considering we had limited supplies, I think I did pretty good….at least Sharon loved it.

Onto My Day:
I spent my day working on Ashley's Guest book for her wedding.
I was having trouble with the coils as I needed them white and only had black.
I spray painted them, but over the last few days, the spray paint kept flaking off.
So I started over with some new coils.
I lightly sanded the black coils, gave a few coats of white spray paint, lastly I added a few coats of glossy clear coats.
So far so good :)
I can now check the guest book off of my list.

I hope you all had a very Creative day :)

Kristy passed!!!!!

Kristy took her driving test today…and passed!!!!!!
She only has one more road test to take and then will have her full licence, but I think the rules state, she has to wait a full year before she can take her last test.
The test she took today was a road test, the next one will be on the highway.

Then it was time to celebrate :)

Anytime we want to celebrate something, we usually celebrate with some ice-cream.
Kristy celebrated with Heather when Heather passed her last driving test, so Heather got to celebrate with Kristy :)
Now don't those look delicious :)
Did you celebrate anything today?

I hope you all had a very creative day :)

Some Goals Met…others, not so much

I thought I should post my end of July calendar from my Fauxbonichi before the month gets away from me.
I am so happy with the steps I did this month :)
I gave myself 2 hearts on the days that I walked over 20,000 steps…why, because I deserved it, teehee.
I am happy with my pop (soda) intake for the month as well.
I also was able to squeeze in 3 books this month…go me!!!

But for the layouts, smash book pages, mailing out happy mail and organizing, really took a nose dive, lol.
I was creative all month…but it was all wedding related.

Now onto Augusts pages in my Fauxbonichi.
I have picked orange for Augusts pages.
The reason…August is usually our hottest month, and orange is the colour of the sun.
But you would never know it was our hottest month today.
It felt like a cool fall day.
The high was 14 C/57 F…..crazy…I had on 2 jackets sitting on the deck at camp.

I hope you all had a very creative and warmer day than I did :)

Hiking in between the rain

Keeping hydrated during my walk/hike today.
Mind you it was short livd

Mind you I didn't get as long as a walk as the sky was dark and looked like rain was coming…which it did.

I see we have a friendly wolf on my trail.
At least I hope it is friendly and not like the one I just read about that was chasing down a cyclist just outside of town.
This looks like she/he is a big one though.

Isn't this just a perfect area for walking?!

I love walking this trail as the view is beautiful and the pathway is a bit of a challenge with the hills and walking in the sandy parts.

But what I most love is walking the trails….mind you this one is pretty open as a vehicle can drive through it.

As beautiful as this day has been, we did get quite a bit of rain….see the puddles I am dodging :)

Sharon and I got a lot of crafting in today….I will share that tomorrow.

I hope you all had a very creative day :)

Crafting at camp

My SIL Sharon and her husband Jim are up at camp with us this long weekend :)
Besides me going for my morning and evening walks, Sharon and I have crafted most of the day.
We have been working on Pocket Letters….I did make a Thank You card for the couple that invited us for cake last weekend….but forgot to take a picture of it.
Wayne and Jim went for a couple of very long quad rides…in-between the rain.

Today is Jim's birthday, so Sharon brought up a yummy cake.
We invited my FIL and his wife over and we all enjoyed a pieced of Jim's Birthday cake…yum.

It has been an odd long weekend for Wayne and I.
Usually my dad, step mom, my baby brother and his family come up to the cottage for the August Long.
But with Ashley and Tyler's wedding coming soon, they are of course going to come up for that instead.
Also it is just the 4 of us this weekend.
Ashley and Tyler decided to stay home with their new puppy.
They want him to get used to his surroundings first before bringing him out here.
Kristy and Blake had a wedding to attend to.
And Heather figured it wouldn't be as fun hanging with the old people as it would be hanging with her sisters this weekend, so she stayed home, lol.

We are still enjoying ourselves….just a bit (a lot) quieter this weekend.

I hope you are enjoying your long weekend…if you are celebrating it.
And I hope you all had a very creative day :)
