My Friend…a Pocket letter

I had mentioned last weekend that Sharon and I made pocket letters all weekend.
This is one that I secretly made for Sharon :)
Funny as we were sitting beside each other and she didn't realize that this was for her, teehee.
I tried to incorporate some of her favourite things and her favourite colour…blue.

I used this "Friends" sticker..isn't it sweet.
The only thing is it blended in with the light background.
So I added some strips of washi tape to the paper so it would show up clearer.

I brought my huge binder of stickers and picked out this really pretty frame.

I stamped this sentiment…I thought it was perfect for our friendship, as we are always laughing about something…..even if no one else finds it funny, teehee.

Sharon loves hummingbirds :)
So this sticker was not only pretty, but perfect for her Pocket Letter.
And I got to use one of my brand new stamps "Best Friends"

Sharon is also a BIG coffee lover.
Not your fancy mocha latte cappa frapachino (as you can tell, I don't drink coffee, teehee) but old fashion coffee ;)
I stamped this coffee cup, fussy cut it out and then coloured this heart on the coffee cup.

I had a couple of these jars that I had punched out in my stash.
This one was just plain grey card stock and it didn't really pop off of this card.
I added some layers of butterfly washi tape and voila…butterflies in a jar :)

Considering we had limited supplies, I think I did pretty good….at least Sharon loved it.

Onto My Day:
I spent my day working on Ashley's Guest book for her wedding.
I was having trouble with the coils as I needed them white and only had black.
I spray painted them, but over the last few days, the spray paint kept flaking off.
So I started over with some new coils.
I lightly sanded the black coils, gave a few coats of white spray paint, lastly I added a few coats of glossy clear coats.
So far so good :)
I can now check the guest book off of my list.

I hope you all had a very Creative day :)

Crafting at camp

My SIL Sharon and her husband Jim are up at camp with us this long weekend :)
Besides me going for my morning and evening walks, Sharon and I have crafted most of the day.
We have been working on Pocket Letters….I did make a Thank You card for the couple that invited us for cake last weekend….but forgot to take a picture of it.
Wayne and Jim went for a couple of very long quad rides…in-between the rain.

Today is Jim's birthday, so Sharon brought up a yummy cake.
We invited my FIL and his wife over and we all enjoyed a pieced of Jim's Birthday cake…yum.

It has been an odd long weekend for Wayne and I.
Usually my dad, step mom, my baby brother and his family come up to the cottage for the August Long.
But with Ashley and Tyler's wedding coming soon, they are of course going to come up for that instead.
Also it is just the 4 of us this weekend.
Ashley and Tyler decided to stay home with their new puppy.
They want him to get used to his surroundings first before bringing him out here.
Kristy and Blake had a wedding to attend to.
And Heather figured it wouldn't be as fun hanging with the old people as it would be hanging with her sisters this weekend, so she stayed home, lol.

We are still enjoying ourselves….just a bit (a lot) quieter this weekend.

I hope you are enjoying your long weekend…if you are celebrating it.
And I hope you all had a very creative day :)

Happy Mail…more Pocket Letters Received :)

I received some more Pocket Letters :)
Not only are these so much fun to make, they are also so much fun to receive.

I received this one from Elise "Feed your Craft"
This is the second one that Elise has made for me.
I love the card with the pocket that she made…I will be using this…like I did with her flip card :)
Thank you so much Elise, I love your ideas!!!

I received this Pocket Letter from Becky "Fourth House on the Right":)
Not only did she send me this pretty Pocket Letter, but she also sent me this pretty pencil…I love the little crown on top.

Look at the beautiful pocket letter Becky made me :)
I really like the papers she used, and that she inked the edges for me ;)
She added these really pretty paper clips.
My SIL fell in love with the crochet piece in the centre.
Thank you so much Becky :)

Last but definitely not least is the Pocket letter that Linda "Cards by Linda" made for me….As soon as I saw it, I got excited :)

If you know anything about me, than you know that I love scary movies…zombies being my favourite, lol.

When I saw the green guy, I thought he looked like House…..well, it is House..a zombie House, lol.
There is so much going on, on this pocket letter I don't even know where to start.
I also like the sequins with the eye balls in the middle….very creative.

The back of Linda's pocket letter is just as fun as the front.
She also stuffed it full of goodies in between her works of art.
Thank you so much Linda :)

I had a couple of my friends over this afternoon and we chatted a lot more then we crafted :)
I worked on a few Pocket Letters as the project for the Bridal shower is totally complete.

I hope you all had a very creative Day today :)

Spring Pocket Letter

Yesterday I shared with you a few Pocket Letters that I received…today I am going to share with you a Pocket Letter that I had made :)
This one was for a swap I joined on a private FB site (I think it has only 15 members).
Tara and I were paired up.
We didn't have a theme, but I decided to do a Spring theme as the snow is gone and the birds are singing :)

All of these papers are from my scraps.
The pattern paper is from a kit from the first Crop & Create event I attended…I made many layouts out of this kit and still have enough paper for another 1 or 2 Pocket letters or cards :)

I was inspired to make flip cards from Elise from "Feed Your Craft"
Elise attaches her flip page with washi tape.
I picked up some blank note cards from a dollar store, cut them down to size and placed them inside of the the pocket :)
I love love how these look and turned out.

Here is how I packaged up Tara's pocket letter.
I sprayed the doily with some mists to match the colours in the pattern paper.
I then made a banner with her name on it :)

I forgot to take photos of the goodies I put in the back of this Pocket Letter…but never fear, I made a video and share everything about this fun little project :)
If you would prefer to watch the video on my YouTube channel (as it shows the whole screen) just click on the link "Tracy's Treasures24"

I hope you all had a very creative day :)
I have been working on a project for Ashley's Bridal Shower….hoping it works out and looks better than it does right now ;)

Happy Mail…Pocket Letters Recieved

Here are a few Pocket Letters the I have received in the mail :)
I just love Happy Mail :)

This one is from Stefanie (LB Crafter).
This is the second one she has made for me :)
I love how she wrapped it up….cute tissue paper with my name on it.

And here is her pretty pocket letter for me.
Such fun summer colours.
I love the teeny tiny banner..and the beautiful charm she made as well.

Here are the treats she included in the pockets.
I love that she added faux money from Belgium.
Thank you so much Stefanie :)

This next Pocket Letter, I received from Addie :)
I met Addie on a Pocket Letter FB site.
I like that she put my name in gold sparkly letters :)

Here is the back of Addie's Pocket Letter :)

Last but not least is the one Tara made me :)
I met Tara on a different FB site, we were in an arranged swap.
Tara put her treats in the front of her pockets.
I love the quotes she stamped on here…oh yes, and the chocolate, teehee.

I have a couple more to share, but I will save those for another day…..like after Becky posts hers, teehee.

Onto My Day:
I had a couple of my friends over this afternoon to create.
I worked on a couple Pocket Letters.
I misplaced a Pocket Letter that I was working on a couple of weeks ago…
Imagine the stuff I could get done, if I didn't keep misplacing things, lol.  I could conquer the world, lol.

I hope you all had a very creative day:0

Pocket Letter out the door

My Pocket letter is out in the mail :)
I spritzed the large doily with some pink mists.
I then wrapped some twine around it to hold everything in place.
Punched out the banner with the left over papers from the ones I used in the Pocket Letter, and stamped the letters on each banner to spell out TARA's name.
Not sure when I will share the full Pocket Letter as I am sure Tara would rather see it in person first :)

This Pocket Letter was for a swap in a private group.
I don't commit to doing to many swaps, especially since there is so much wedding planning to do:)

Today Ashley's soon to me MIL and Ashley's maid of honour and, all went out to check on a venue for her bridal shower.
Just as we were done checking the place out, Ashley texted me to see if we would like to take another look at the venue where the wedding will take place.
So we all drove out there to take a look (second look for Ashley and I).
Things are coming together :)

I hope you all had a very creative day :)

Pocket Letter …dinner and a movie

Worked on another Pocket Letter today….and got to use my new to me Vintage Typewriter :)
I used a blank card for this flip card.
I just cut it to size.
I wanted the purple trim at the bottom, so just cut it out and adhered it to the bottom.

My friends and I went out for a dinner and a movie :)
We didn't go out for Sharon's birthday, as we celebrated it during the last crop we were at.
But no one get missed for their Birthday dinner and a movie.

We enjoyed dinner at Applebees and Hot Pursuit for the movie.
It was pretty good :)

I hope you all had a creative Day today :)

Tim Holtz themed Pocket Letter

Yup another Pocket Letter :)
I was asked by Melinda, if I would like to do a Tim Holtz themed Pocket Letter.
I am game for most anything, and you all know I love Tim Holtz's style.

All of the background pattern papers are all scraps that were in my scrap folder…and bonus, they are all from Tim Holtz :)

Because the pattern paper was all so very dark, I needed a way to brighten the Pocket letter up.
So I took some white card stock, trimmed it a bit smaller than the background paper and inked that baby up.
I used 3 different colours of distress inks for this.

I then used a lot of Tim's stamps and stamped some backgrounds on the card stock and decorated each card.
I also used his mini dies to cut out elements for each card.
Each pocket or card has a different theme.

I had received Melinda's pocket before I was able to send mine out…so here is hers :)
I like that she added ribbon to the binder holes.
She also used one main piece of paper and then cut it apart to fit the protector pockets :)

Here is how I mailed my Pocket Letter.
I misted the doily to give it a vintage look to go with the theme of the letter :)

Oh look, I did a video on my Pocket Letter and a bit of a tip on how I made the banner :)
If you would rather watch it on my YouTube channel….to get the whole project in the screen, just click on the link "Tracy's Treasures24"
I don't know why YouTube isn't putting (or letting me put) a thumbnail on my videos lately :(

I hope you all have a very Creative Weekend.
Not sure how much I can get on the internet this long weekend, as I am off to our yearly "Girls Weekend" at my SIL's camp and will be crafting the nights away.
She doesn't get internet up there…or every once in a while we may get a weak signal.
So we will see….just know I will be having a blast :)

I am uploading a video on this pocket letter, so I will post it, along with photos in tomorrows post :)

Working on a Pocket Letter

I have been creating the last couple of days :)
I have been making some more Pocket Letters.

As fun as these are…this one seemed to take me forever.
I am doing a Tim Holtz style swap.
Now you all know I adore his style and I enjoy making his tags…but for some reason, this one took me forever.
I used 3 different colours of ink to distress these papers….they started off being white.
See what a bit of ink can do to a white piece of card stock :)

I may be sluggish because of the weather we have been having lately.
It has been drab and all I want to do is curl up in some warm blankets and nap.
Actually when I woke up to it snowing this morning….I just wanted to go back to bed, lol.
The temperature was only 4c here today…it was a bit warmer than yesterday…good nap weather in my opinion, lol.

I hope you all had a very Creative Day today :)
